Who is planning on being in Disneyland 7/17/2015?

We'll be there! It is my dd's 13th birthday and my mom's 61st. We were there on the 55th and I promised we'd celebrate birthdays there again when DL turned 60. 5yrs have flown by. We didn't feel like the 55th was overly busy, but I expect this might be more so? We have 5 days to use spread between the 16-23, so will enjoy the 17th as whatever we can make it be. Just will be fun to be there on that special day for Disneyland and my family!

Val & I are going to be there as part of an ABD Back Stage Magic tour then.

Sweet - I'll be there on the 17th as well since that is my b-day too. I'm arriving on the 14th and staying til the 19th staying at Fairfield Anaheim across the street

My dad and I have a tentative trip planned for that time. Hoping to be there on the 17th.

My son & I will be there the 15th-22nd. We normally go at the end of October through early November. I hate heat & prefer the less crowded times. But, I decided I could suck it up this year to be there for the 60th. I fully expect it to be worth every crowded sweaty second!

I am :) still finalizing exact vacation dates but expect our week in DL to be busy, busy, BUSY! Still, we survived Christmas week at WDW and didn't find it too bad - so we should be able to manage this just fine as well.

I was there by accident with an ex for the 50th on July 17th 2005. I was a complete rookie and had no clue what I was doing and just happened to pick that weekend to go to DL and the 17th was our 2nd day of a 3 day PH. We thought we were getting there early (right after gates open) only to find the park packed beyond belief. By 8:20 (which is how long it took us to fight our way to Space Mountain) the line for space was 3+ hours long and FP were for after 6 PM at night. It was not a fun day for us and I have learned to plan before hand from that trip. Having been there for one big anniversary I think I have had my fill and will stay away from now on. It was too hard to move in the park all day.

I was there for the 40th and the 50th. This year I'll be there on May 22 for the kick-off, and on July 17 (at some point). If they have a 24-hour event, I plan to visit all U.S. Disney parks on that day. If there's no 24-hour event, I'll be coming home from WDW on the 16th, and spending the 17th at DLR.

I'll also be there on the 17th

Booked GCH a year in advance, then changed to VGC at 11 months.

Surprisingly booked GCH today for the 16th-21st! :yay: I was expecting it to be sold out. And the room rates were pretty standard for peak season (Premium View around $700/night) and not jacked up to outrageous levels as I was expecting.

Would have loved to try to buy points for VGC and get a suite but assuming it is sold out, right? Hope you get a Park View Villa!!

On the 17th, hoping to do the BB F! Dinner package but going to be laissez faire about the rest of the day.

I'd like to but I'm still on the fence. I'd need to upgrade my AP, since the Deluxe is blocked out that day, but I could do that. I was surprised to see there are still some rooms available at DLH (though at a premium).

My only hesitation at this point is that our annual budgeting process at the bank happens sometime in July. Leaving for even a day is just not possible. I'll have to see what the situation is with budgeting this year and make a decision soon...

GCH was fully booked a year in advance for the 50th, but 60 is not nearly as special an anniversary.

VGC is fully booked around the 60th, but this is certainly not surprising. VGC is the smallest DVC resort, and quickly books once the 7-month non-home-resort window opens.
Thanks for the positive vibes on my hope for a park view, early booking seems to help with room assignment (although early check in and luck also help).

I will be there!!! Super excited!!! Thats also the day I have to renew my AP. Hopefully, the price increase will not be too bad this year.

That's disappointing considering all the hoopla in May :( Hopefully more things will be announced?

I was kind of thinking given all of the issues with the 24-hour day, they may have re-thought how to handle the actually 60th anniversary day. I'm sure they are bracing for large(ish) crowds (based on the 50th anniversary), but perhaps they don't want to encourage the over-nighters and things like that, so they aren't going to announce that much in advance. It'll be interesting to see how things go (before hand and during the day itself). Hopefully things will be better than they were for the 24-hour day.

We will be! Did not realize that it was the actual day of the anniversary though! Touring Plans shows the crowds at DL to be a 6/10 that day... I'm guessing that will be wrong???

I would guess more like an 11/10, once people have to move around any schedule events.

I was there on the 17th last year and they shut down park admittance it was so crowded, never sure if it was just a inconvenience it was the 59th anniversary.

Gee, d'ya think?? :crowded:

No way Jose, and we are unanimous about that too. Too hot, crowded, probably too many cranky people. Not pleasant. Maybe in May? Maybe next year, maybe never. Lol

MTE! We're waiting, and arriving 10 days later.

Sounds good. :)
I think it would be nice to visit on the actual birthday. But can only imagine the crowd attendance.
I had to reschedule my May trip. And ended up with a tentative plan for early July. Even though I vowed to never visit during the summer. Lol :faint: So....if I don't have to change plans again :scared: I will just have to deal with the rather high probability of hot weather and many a people.
