Who is my guide?

If one wanted to add on a 25 point direct contract but was already an evil resale owner, how would they find out who their guide would be? Email and ask I suppose? Or would they just throw you to the first available guide? Just curious right now.

You would just be assigned a guide at random when you call or e-mail. Unless you specifically request a guide (that you perhaps were referred too).

A guide is just a salesperson. So any one would probably work for you.

Ok, I thought that everyone has a guide assigned to them when they buy in regardless of direct or resale. Not a big deal right now, just thought I would ask.

I think one is "assigned" if they start calling to solicit you for adding on. Though they don't do that unless you select that option on the surveys and such requesting the information. Even if they assigned a guide to you, you are free to request another guide since you personally don't have a relationship with one.

Ok, thanks. No big deal right now. Maybe at the end of the year if we do go direct I will research a great guide to ask for.

Have you ever done one of those "phone tours" for a $25 gift card? If so, you might still have a guide from that call.

If you've never received a DVC mailer from a specific person, then you currently don't have one. I get a DVC mailer every 6 months or so, and printed on the back are my Guide's name and phone number.

I did do something years and years ago. But I forgot what. If I do decide to buy a 25 point direct I will research later on who a great guide might be and ask for him/her. Not that big of a deal right now. I know Disney can now wave the magic wand and rearrange use years to match what you want and with a September use year, I would like another small contract to have that same use year if possible.

Just call and ask who your guide is. Easy.

I hadn’t gotten a sales flyer with a name on it in years, then a couple months ago DonD sent me one. He was our guide assigned after OUR guide left years ago. So I don’t think that’s a way to judge if you have one.

True. Then at the least it's a sign of a better Guide since they take the steps to be more proactive than others.

Some states don't allow mailers or emails from timeshares. :)

OP, you realize that 25 direct points are no longer enough to get the DVC direct perks, right? You need to have 75 direct points now. (In case you didn't know this.)
