Who is in the NYC Lottery???

I GOT IN ALSO!!!!!!! It was only my second year applying so I really didn't think it would come through. Logistically, it won't work for us this year and I only applied to keep my lottery active so I would be a guaranteed entry in 2011. This is something I really, really want to do but it may be in my best interest to pay the extra money and defer it until next year. It's nice to know that if I do decide to postpone it a year, there will be other WISH participants.

Would you be interested in letting me buy your entry? I don't know if that would work, I guess I'd have to run it as you... and I'd kind of like to have my time on the internet, but I'm just so bummed that I didn't get in!! I'll re-enter next year and keep my fingers crossed...

Thanks for the offer, Tammy, but my friends and I were able to change our cruise and now the marathon is a go for me. Just keep applying.....it may happen sooner than you think. You can always go the charity route, but that way is really pricey. Good luck!

:scared1: I'm in...I'm doing the New York Marathon.....I just found out!!!!!::scared1:

Yay, another WISH shirt on the course! Congrats, Syko!!!!!!

Jeanne and syko Congrats on getting in! I bet it will be quite the experience. Who knows, if I like the Mickey in January, then maybe one day..New York. (However, I would really rather do Boston---being a native MA and Red Sox fan.)

Maura

Jeanne witch hotel are you staying at?? I'm have trouble finding one near the disabled pick up point.....I wish they would not hold a secoud draw for cranks as all the hotels are now full!!!!

Maura I want to do BOston too.....every marathon I am doing is a BQ so fingers crossed.

I'm at the Hampton Inn on 35th between 5th and 6th. I chose that one because I thought my pick-up point was going to be the NY Public Library on 42nd and it's an easy walk. I later learned that only the elites get picked up there and I will have to take the subway and then the Staten Island ferry.
I'm a native New Yorker so that's fine with me but if I had known I had to take the A train I would have stayed somewhere on 8th Ave. Everything is so expensive in the city. My hotel is $1100 for 3 nights and it's not even a fabulous one. Where is your pick-up point? I may be able to give you some suggestions.

BTW, thre is a 7-minute video on YouTube that shows the entire course. I'm sorry I looked at it.....Brooklyn is 11 miles straight! I probably shouldn't complain about that because I'm sure boring will be better than the 5 exciting bridges we have to cross!

Hey, you two -- I just had a "duh" moment. Instead of being at the foot of the 59th Street Bridge, as usual, I just contacted NYRR to volunteer at one of the water stops! I'll let you know which one once I get my assignment, so you can look for the WISH green shirt peaking out from under that ugly orange ING volunteer jacket they usually distribute.

Syko, any luck with a hotel yet? Congrats on getting on!

Jeanne is the pick up point is the same as last year :confused3 then its at the empire state building.

11 miles of stright road :cool1: my favourite type. Thanks for the info about the video.

Hey Mickey Thanks for volunteering.
I will keep a look out for you, as I don't wear a WISH shirt (have to keep sponsors happy) I will scream out go WISH when I see you.

I thought it was at the library last year also. Maybe it's at the Empire State Bldg for your specific division......I really don't know. That would work out great for me though.....I'm only a block away!

Thanks for volunteering, Erica.....just be sure to let me know what station you have.

So it looks like I'm back to being the only WISH shirt again!

Hey Mickey, I've never done anything like this before. But I definately want to come out and support the Wishers. Where did you contact NYRR? I would love to volunteer where you are so that there could be 2 wish shirts peaking out at Jeanne and Syko.

Hi, Jane! Here is the link to register to volunteer: http://www.ingnycmarathon.org/volunteer.htm

I requested aid station 13 or 14 (I think -- the 2 in Queens) because (a) its easy for me to reach and near where we usually go to cheer; and (b) its right near the middele, wherre our teammates might need a little morale boost before the trek over the 59th street bridge into Manhattan.

On the sign-up page, you can request to be with a person or group. If you want, i can send you a pm with my info (full name/ NYRR number) so you can include that info if you sign up and want to share a water stop.

It would be a lot of fun to have another WISHER to hang with!:cool1:

Last year it was wheelchairs only at ESB.

Jeanne You will be the only one with a green WISH shirt, but Sunny has given me her permission to put the WISH logo on to my racing shirt :cool1:

I still have not found a hotel, as I am waiting to hear wear we are going to be picked up.

Jane Where you able to get the same water stop as Hey Mickey??
