Who is in the NYC Lottery???

It mentioned the wave online and I checked my marathon program for the color start. Going just solely by your number, you would be First Wave Green start (9:40) which is listed as Local Competitive Men and Women. That said, they show a totally separate category for handcycle division and the details for that are "to be determined"

I'm so excited for you guys. I don't think I'm going to be able to get to the stops in Queens so I requested stops at either First Ave & 61st or 76th. So when you get into Manhattan (around mile 16-17) I will be there to cheer you both on. I'm so excited for you both.:yay:

Thanks Jeanne, you have a marathon program ?

Yes, I received it on Friday......it is awesome! Lots and lots of vital information. You just got in, so yours is probably coming. If not, I would give them a call.

Jane: thanks so much for volunteering! I'm going to be looking for you. :thumbsup2

Jane Thanks for signing up, it will be a great help knowing that there are 2 WISHer's on the course to cheer us on.

Jeanne I'll keep an eye on my mail box.
I have to call as I need to get clearence for my DH to be with me at the start / finish with my SD. I hope its not gonig to be too much of a problem....the Marine courps have been great about it.

I wonder whats going on:confused3 The bib numbers have been taken down, and the transport has been assigned.
They have given me : Staten Island Ferry - 5:30 AM eventhough I have to go on the bus!!!!!

Jeanne what time and route did you get?

You're right......my number is gone. I have to report to the Staten island ferry at 7:30. Not sure why..... if the last reporting time is 8:00 and I'm in the very last group, I figured that would have been my time. I dunno, maybe the 8:00time is for stragglers and no one is actually assigned it.

According to my program, your number (431) is with the local competitive men and women. Maybe they had to take down the numbers because some of them were wrong. I suppose you could email someone at ING.

I had to laugh at the "local" for me.....i'm only 1,000 miles away :rotfl2:

You have a great time....you get to sleep in!!!!! and Green wave.....they must know that your a WISH'er.

I know i'm on the bus as I got an email from Achilles yesterday, my pick up is 38th and 5th, but I did not get a time, they just said very early

I have just got an email back from Achilles and they said that I will be on the 5 or 5:30 bus :scared1:....I hate getting out of bed early, but at least the clocks go back that morning!!!!!!!

Wow, that is early! At least you'll finish while it's still light outside. I won't cross the finish line until after 5pm!

Did you get a hotel yet?

When you are finishing I should be in VA, on my way home, it's only a 21 hour drive:scared1:......we are leaving as soon as I finish as my DD has to be in class on monday!!!!

I have a had a look at hotels, but I can't afford to book one until next month, so it will depend on what the prices are then as to where I stay. I did look at your hotel, but with my SD they would not guarantee a non smoking room, so staying there is not an option.

Hey guys, mind if I join the conversation??:3dglasses

Me & fellow "BOT" Colleen are also in the NYC Marathon in Nov. I haven't been assigned any route or anything (I don't think). I've just been told to get on the ferry @ 7 a.m.:confused3:confused:

They certainly are taking their time getting all this info out, huh? When are you guys arriving? Where are you staying? Book a room as soon as you can, syko, as I think prices will keep going up as the time draws nearer.

The more the merrier!!!
A few days ago, they put up your bib number on the NYC website, but for some reason they have been taken down, it was from this number you got to know what color route you are.

7am ferry...you will get a lie in, I'm on the bus at either 5 or 5:30am, I will not get told which one until the expo.

I am arriving on the 31st and leaving on the 1st as soon as I finish. I will book as soon as I get the money, 1st week sept. I need to stay mid town so that I don't have to far to go for the bus.

Welcome Jodi and Colleen!

Ditto what Syko said......they posted the bib 3s last week and then quickly removed them. If you click on the link to edit your transportation date, your bus assignment will come up.

I'm staying at the Hampton Inn on 35th St. It's not an official marathon hotel, but it's very close to the NYPL which is where I thought I was going to get the bus. It turns out I get it at the Staten Island Ferry (7:30am) I arrive late Friday evening and will go to the Expo on Saturday. The Hampton Inn provides a free breakfast which is something you don't get in most NYC hotels. It's also close to the Javits center, so I'm just keeping it.

Syko: You have a 21 hour drive to VA? Surely that is a typo! We live in NC and our drive to NY is between 7-8 hours with a few stops. This time we are flying though. We leave Monday as I won't finish until way after check-out time.

Hi NYC marathoners!!

It is starting to get very close! My kids are back to school tomorrow,:dance3: so I hope to get some serious training in soon.:rolleyes1 My longest walk/run has only been 10 miles, where is everyone else in their training?

The 21 hour drive is what it will take us to get home, VA is where we should be around the time you said you would finish.

Gotcha.....NOW I understand! :thumbsup2

Theta! I remember you.....we walked a little bit together during the '08 Disney marathon, right? You kept the pace for us while my friend Nancy went to the porta-potties around Mile 4. Do I have the right person?
