Who is going to try and stay after Dis-Con II?

<font face="comic sans ms"> I'll admit on here that I stayed later to watch M.R. and see Walt's birthday celebration, but I'll also have to admit I was too tired to pack to go home. Is anyone planning on staying a little bit later next year? I am seriously considering scheduling my DVC stay right after the convention. I had been thinking about it before, but now I am pretty sure I will. Anyone else? Nosy mind wishes to know. </font>

I may come up earlier, but no go on staying later. I have finals after DIS Con!

I was hoping to work in our 3-day $99 cruise either before or after DIScon 2002, but the earliest cruise after the event is December 12th. That would mean being at WDW from 12/4 until 12/15. I think that I'd have to call in dead to get that much time off.

I would have liked to have stayed until Walt's birthday this year, but I was trying to keep costs down and shorten my stay. Pennywise and pound foolish I guess.

Staying extra either before or after the next DIScon depends a lot on what DW has to say about coming with me. I know that the kids will have to stay at home due to school, but perhaps I can convince Sue that she needs to come with me next time.

Only time will tell.

Maile is in year-round school, so I try to keep her in school whenever possible...but with that said, I don't mind pulling her out of school for vacations. Michael will be in his second year of preschool, and I'd pull him out in a heartbeat!

BUT!!! Since I really want to go solo again, none of that really matters. All that really matters is that Ed is still employed with HP and that he's still making good money and that he is not launching a new project and that he is able to get the time off to watch the kids. He is definitely a trooper, and I know that if he can do it, he will.

7 nights was a L-O-N-G time for me to be away from my family...but I think I could use 1 or 2 more nights. :::thinking:::

So....my final answer is....."maybe"

I really don't think I was much 'good' after DIS-Con.....I was soooooo tired. What I'm hoping to do is to come in one day earlier and leave one day later......stretching my stay from 7 nights to 9 nights. But don't tell my heart yet....because it's still recovering from missing my kids this time.

I won't tell your heart. That's very sweet. I understand it's different when you have children, but I'm willing to take any extra time you can stay.

I will probably come in a day or two early and stay a few days after, like I did this year. Don't know exactly how long I will stay, though. I want to try to get into BWV or (with some luck) the new BCV. I'm not sure if I'll use points for the whole trip or stay at the YC for the convention and switch afterwards. Decisions, decisions, decisions!

I would like to stay longer, but it depends on the costs. Since I work every week-end, I'll probably do the same time that I did this year, but I would love to take off two weekends in a row, hehe.

I sure went high on the hog this trip...got one of the CC bills today...OUCH!!

My plan (but knowing me this will probably change a few times ) is to arrive the Sunday or Monday after Thanksgiving and stay until 18 December.

Right now I'm planning on coming in a day early and staying through the Friday after DIScon. This year, it was nice to be able to come down from touring WDW "Commando Style" and enjoy the parks at a more leisurely pace. (But then, I DID have more fun when everyone was still there. )

Next year I'm sure I'll be solo, so I won't want to leave the DH and kids at home for TOO long! I'll probably arrive sometime Thanksgiving weekend and visit my mom the first few days, then head over to WDW by Dec. 1st. Since Thanksgiving is SO late in 2002, there will probably be several MVMCP's before DIS-Con starts. If that's the case, I think I'd like to attend an early MVMCP - before I'm too pooped from staying out so late every night!

For us it will come down to when we can fly the cheapest, but I would imagine that we would add days prior to the event, and maybe get a late flight out on the 8th. That would put us back to school at a good time.

Depending on things we may try and come down for Thanksgiving and then stay a day or two after DIS CON II. Coming from so far away you don't want to waste time and need to make full use of that AP.

Also I may be trying to plan a little thing for the 9th of Dec. We had wanted to celebrate our 15th anniversary at WDW but that is in June, however 15 years and 6 months just happens to fall on Dec 9th. I am thinking about a vow renewal or something. ( any ideas would be appreciated)

Like Frank, I really enjoyed the day or two I had just relaxing after everybody left. And of course, Joe wants to go to the SPA. (only if I get to go with him )

Of course, only time will tell.

I'm really going to try to come down the Friday before, and maybe stay another week or so after DIS-Con. A lot can change in a year, but that's the plan right now.

We came in a day early and stayed an extra day and it was not near enough time.

Next time I plan on extra days on either side. And best of all SOLO!!!!

I don't think I can manage a whole week after DIS-Con, it's just too close to Christmas. But I can certainly do a few days. It will be fun to coordinate and plan things for after, too. We did MVMCP, the Candlelight Processional dinner package and Boma's for breakfast as a group after this year's convention. It was a lot of fun to do all that together. And,those of us straggler's that just wouldn't leave, hung our together until the last one was left standing. While it was still painful to leave everyone, it was a little easier doing it slowly.
