THis is my fifth trip to WDW and only one day of rain in the past four trips. BUt this week the forecast is showing rain every day. It started out nice today. We Took the Keys to the Kindom tour and got the tall ghost riding with us at the end (which the guide said was known as bad luck). Sure enough it was pouring when we got outside.

Which, worst of all, hampered my photography-ing. But I did get rainy pics of the world. And shots with no people in them!

Now we are watching the tropical storm/hurricane coming. Our plane leaves tuesday night and, last I heard, they expect it around then. Well in the gulf anyway. Looks like it will be close...

When we went down in October 2002 we ran into rain every day. Everyday we would ask the front desk if there was rain in the forecast, they would say no, and I would come back from the parks with yet 4 more new ponchos.

I came home with 32 ponchos. :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Um - yeah... I forgot to tell you that when I wished you a happy birthday! I was hoping you'd have some pixie dust and it would stay away for you!

Yep this has been the rainiest week in some time starting with last weekend! Ruined my plans for EPCOT before dinner at Beach Club!

DD was held in school 1/2 hr late yesterday due to a nastly lightning storm hanging over head. 90% of the kids walk/ride bikes or get to school via parents, and they couldn't release any of them due to the bad lightning! As I sat in the car the ground was actually shaking from the lightning strikes in the area!

Today, 1:45 time to pick DD up from school.... storm again! Today's although much less violent hung around much longer! My pool is filled to the rim! Yeah no watering the grass this weekend!

This is the most consequtive days in quite some time! We need the rain - the deficit I believe is still around 6"!!!

We are heading to Poly for breakfast in the am, I hope the rain holds off for a bit so we can hit a park for a couple hours too!

I know it's not what you want on vacation, but I rather enjoy the parks in the rain (as long as there is no lightning!)

I hope you enjoy the rest of your trip and get lots of pic PHOTOGRAPHY-ING!

Oh my Gosh, Worst disney trip ever! And the rain has had nothing to do with it....
On top of many other things a moldy shower curtain that has not been changed or cleaned in two days. After being told they would do a VIP cleaning of our room today we came back to a room untouched.
They offered to move us to coronnado springs for the last two nights (from allstar sports). Of course we did not decline.

But we are trying to look on the bright side and get all of our bad luck used up on this trip.

Three days and I have not had to change a battery or memory card yet. That is how short the time between rain showers has been.

But it is nice to have the parks practicaly to ourselves. and the rain is warm, the lines are short. Soaring is awesome!!!! Philharmagic is as well. I spent the show watching the kids around us smiling and trying to grab the characters zooming out to them.

Mikeeee Out! I am going to download the pics I did get.

I'm sorry you are not having a good trip! At least Disney is trying to right their wrong!

I keep trying to send some pixie dust to make the rain go away, but it's just not happening!

Looks like you need one of those thar waterproof cameras :rolleyes1

They kept saying the hurricane is going to miss. But this mornings track puts it much closer. Surely there will be at least more rain. We moved our flight to a day earlier (at $150 penalty) yesterday. Today I am sure all the seats are taken.

We do get to see our puppies a day earlier!

Wow, I guess I got lucky. I was there Aug 16-23, and only had one solid downpour that lasted about an hour or two (Aug 19, on our way to dinner at Wilderness Lodge). We were at Pop when it started, and of course ALL our rain gear was in the car... having no protection for the kids, I put on my bathing suit and went out to the car to get everything... surely people were laughing at me running around outside with a towel on my head! :rotfl2: As far as the rest of the week, there was periods of light rain here and there, but nothing like I saw in June 2004 when the rain came every single afternoon! This time, I only took out the umbrella once, and never had to break out the ponchos (which I carried in the park every single day), and we never got our shoes soaked (never needed the newspaper I brought from home!). I did have to put my camera away a few times because of the rain... so there were some photo opp's that I missed out on... but man, compared to you, I guess I lucked out! I hope you still had an enjoyable trip, nonetheless. You'll just have to plan another one to make up for it! ;)

Have a safe journey home...
