Y'all are so inspiring!
So whats a french toast casserole? Sounds yummy!
It's really easy!
There are several variations but this is the one I cooked this morning.
1 loaf Italian bread
1 stick butter
1 cup brown sugar
2 T corn syrup
5 eggs
1 1/2 cups milk
1 tsp vanilla
Slice the bread then cut the slices in half, layer in a greased 9x13 pan
Melt together butter, brown sugar & corn syrup then pour over the bread.
Mix the eggs, milk & vanilla and pour over everything.
Cover & refrigerate overnight.
Cook for 30min on 350. I usually put it in the cold oven so the pan heats with the oven. Sometimes I cook it a little longer if it seems too mushy. The top will get crispy and the middle will stay a little mushy.
Some people put syrup on it or powdered sugar but we like it just plain. It would also be good with some cinnamon added in if you like that flavor.
