I have been working on getting rid of outside toys. This morning I sold our playhouse on craigslist. This afternoon I have someone coming to look at a spiral slide that went to our swingset. And now I'm feeling guilty. My 11yo DS saw me taking it out of the shed and asked me what I was doing, then got all sad when I told him why. The thing is, you have to dig a hole in the ground for the pole for the slide and DH never wants to do it. So it sat in our garage for 3 years, then we moved and it's been in the shed here for 2 more years. Really he is NEVER going to put it up. And actually we need to get rid of the swingset it goes to, it needs serious repair and DH is never going to get to that either. And DH is just as bad, he'll tell me "Oh, that just needs this and this, I can do that." It's so frustrating and in the mean time our back yard looks terrible.
I'm having the same problems letting go of a sandbox that no one plays in and a couple other outdoor toys. It's not like I want to get rid of their bikes, scooters or skateboards that they DO play with. How do you get your kids to work with your destashing??
