Who here uses CM's SBC+ for digital scrapping?

I think I just spent the last 2 hours reading this thread from front to back. I am so excited. I have been wanting to switch to digital for a while. But this seals the deal. My question is if I go to my CM's site and order today the SBC plus does that mean I will have to pay for an upgrade on Sept. 1? That bites since I really want to start on my stuff this weekend. We have a crop at her house next week and I wanted to have some digital pages done. Thanks so much.

It will cost you the same either way (SBC+ is on sale for $5 off right now) and I think you end up with more free goodies if you download SBC+ now and then upgrade Sept 1 for $9.95. (you get the Delight & Discover stuff along with silver office supplies now, then Cottage Garden kit and pages with the upgrade). I'm not exactly sure what you will get if you just buy the full version in Sept. So, go for it! Grab it now, start playing and then you'll be all set for upgrading on the 1st!

Yes, as I understand it purchasing SBC+ anytime before Sept. 1st means you will get the current version and will then have to purchase the upgrade in a few weeks. However, on the bright side I think the current version is on sale $5 off so that hopefully makes the $9.99 for the upgrade a little easier to swallow. And as far as wanting to complete some pages before the crop you would definitely have plenty of tools in the current version to make that happen even before getting the upgrade. Hope this helps and have fun with SBC+--just be warned it is highly addictive!

Seriously, I wouldn't worry about the $5.00 difference, because SBC+ is a better value overall, compared to other products out there. AND it's extremely user-friendly, with a help desk to serve you at any time. And you'll have your CMC, too.

Although there are some drastic changes in 3.0 from 2.0, it really won't take you that long to figure them out. It just may be easier to get started on it with 2.0 (without all of the extra features). Either way, I'd do it asap!

I need to tell you about the upgraded shadow feature. They have a pull-down screen where you can choose icons as to which direction and height you want your shadow to be without having to go into the custom shadow. It's so cool! And then if you want to edit even more, then you can go into the custom setting to change it.

Another wonderful shadow they have is an all-around shadow, for the time you want a shadow on all sides of the element. It's heavenly!

AAAGh!! I just want to have it NOW! This waiting until the 15th business is killing me!! And I have to go to a @%!$*#@$ family reunion picnic with my DH, DS, and MIL Saturday so I really don't know when I'll get to play with it! The shadow thing sounds perfect!

And, SBC+ will be $64.95 in Sept, so the same price if you buy now at $54.95 + $9.95 upgrade Sept 1. I think the price is going up again for 3.0 in October, too.

I've been doing a bit of playing around with the text paths. Here's a very simple one that I did:



When you first make a path, everything is curved. After you set your points, you can edit them at will afterwards - which is wonderful. To make the line straight you right-click on the spot and select "straight". There's still more with how to edit the path, but I'm still working on it. Baby steps, huh?

It's only a download since it will be available for a short while (like 2 months). It wouldn't be cost effective for them to make a CD of it.

The best thing to do is to print out your receipt, as well as file it somewhere on your hard drive - that way you can access it if you need it. It is possible to have the order traced, but you'd have to do that through your CMC, or directly with someone at HQ if you're a CMC.

Thanks! I'll downloaded it and print the code and put that in with the original CD that I have. Hopefully that way it won't get lost. I'll keep it on my hard drive also, but I don't trust that as much as having it somewhere else. I always feel like my lap top is on the verge of a melt down KWIM, I don't want to jinx myself!

I got the 2.0. Truly only a $5 difference when all is said and done. I am still trying to figure it all out, but very easy.

I tried to follow Disneybaby about the 2 page layout across both pages. I have a title I want to go across. I think I need a little more info.

Otherwise, I am loving it. I can't wait to upload layouts and take to my reps crop on the 22nd. Now I will have to buy some side load refill. I really want to stick with the CM strap hinge books. I have tried so many other brands and types. The othes just rip apart. My kids love to look at themselves

QM, I ordered the upgrade yesterday from my website and had to get the CD. Came up as 643714 CD-Software-SBC 3.0 Plus Upgrade. I did not get an email to do the upgrade as a download.

Yeah, I'm totally bummed. I thought I could get the download yesterday and I had to order the CD. I leave for Disney Friday and I really wanted to play with it this week! I'm totally bummed!

I am not sure why CM does not make the downloads available for consultants - it is probably the same reason we have to buy the digital full price and wait for the commission. I ordered today and my CD is scheduled to arrive on Friday - I am so excited!!!

Just a thought - how can you use totally bummed and leave for Disney Friday in the same post!!! I am soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo jealous We haven't been since June of 2008 and since the baby is only 15 weeks - we probably won't be back until fall of 2010.
