Who here uses CM's SBC+ for digital scrapping?

Here it is my first digital scrapbook page EVER. I'm having so much fun playing around with my new toy! Let me know what you think. Does it need any thing else. Everything is from Britt's Mouse in the House freebie. I can see myself dropping some serious change on her stuff. Better go get myself on the Ban Wagon! :rotfl2:

Ok, here come the questions. I was looking on scrapmatters. There is a journaling shaping freebie. It says it has been tested and will work with PSE, various versions, but it's a png file. Will it still work with SB+? And it came up under the freebies, but there is a name your price box. How does that work? Thanks for all the help.

ColleenG,
I think that your first page looks totally awesome. Great job!!

All .pngs work just fine with SBC+ you just load them into my favorites and they were come up in the program.

I don't think that will work with SBC+. It isn't just a .png file. It says something about a .png and a text path. I'm pretty sure the text path won't work. I with CM would come out with a text on a path feature for SBC+.

ColleenG -- love that first page! Keep up the great work!

Love your LO Colleen!! :):) Jessica's right -- that won't work with SBC+... Text on a path is one of the *very* few things you can't do in SBC+. :( As for the name your price thingy -- I think it has something to do with the way the shopping cart system is set up in the store... Try putting in 0.00 and see if it will let you buy those freebies for nothing.... Look forward to seeing more of your LOs!!

Thanks Christy and Jessica. I ended up downloading it and it was not like anything I've seen so far (in the 2 days I've been downloading freebies like a mad woman :rotfl2: ). Oh well, it was free. Maybe CM will eventually come up with a text shaper. Thanks for the comments.

So of course I have more questions. My SBC+ came with the Everyday and Gazebo power palates and premade templates. All I seem to be able to get off the CD ROM is the templates. I can move everything around. But is there a way to just get the papers and the embellishments separately? When I go to the package section on the right all I can get is all the Britt-ish Design stuff I down loaded and put in there. Am I missing something?

First I know CM is coming out with "stuff" for digital. I cannot find the email I got with the proposed stuff but there was a tearing tool, journaling stuff and they have been working towards a Mac version which I swear I read would be out in the spring.

As for the Everyday and Gazebo papers and embellishments I believe you need to "load" those similar to how you did Britts stuff only into CM Content.
I am copying in a section from one of my help pages for you. See if that helps. It is actually part of how to install a downloaded package so where it says look at the email just look at the CD and there is an activation cose.

To install the packages onto Storybook Creator Plus:
• From the HOME Page on SBC PLUS go to CM Content (the little box at the top of the page) this opens your packages and lists your content
• Go to the bottom of the box and click IMPORT PACKAGE
• Find where the packages you have just purchased are located ( for me it is on the desktop, you can click on the desktop symbol on the left hand side of the box)
• Single click to select a package and click OPEN.
• Your package is now installed. Now you have to activate all packages that you bought.
• On the CM content box you will click on Activation code at the bottom.
• Go back to the confirmation email (that you kept open) and highlight the activation code. You will then copy it by pressing your CTRL and C buttons together on your keyboard. Then paste the proper code into the box by holding down the CTRL and V buttons together on your keyboard
• The activation code will automatically activate what you purchased.

You have done it! Now go find some chocolate while proclaiming “I am a Digital Diva” and have FUN with your awesome new software.

Hoipe you get figured out.

hey Jessica did you say you made more templates for the calenders. If I go to your blog and dowload that 4shared file again will there be more than the original ones. I have another calender to do again.

Your stuff is so great.....I wish you could sell them without infringing on CM copyrights because I would buy the CD. They make things so easy and quick. I have already sent the idea to CM

Thanks Michelle for the help. I did that from the CD ROM that came in the software package and all I seem to be able to get is the premade pages for the Everyday and Gazebo. If I put the CD in and just list the stuff that's on there all that's listed is 6 files: each of the 3 page sizes for the 2 packages. There doesn't seem to be a way to get just the paper and the embelishments for each set. I don't know if it's supposed to be that way or not. I can open a new project and pull apart the premade pages but if I want to add an embelishment that's not already there I have no way of getting it off another page. I didn't know if I was missing something or if the CD just doesn't have the power palettes on it. :confused3

I guess the big question is are th power palettes their own file?

I do not have my disk handy to look at what is on it. I do have the paper and embellishments seperate where I can just choose the piece I want. I opened up my storybook and verified that it is the two you want and there is a fancy alphabet in the text area from the everyday I believer. I would do one of two things.

1) On Monday call the Storybook Support number...they are super helpful. Sometimes the hold time can be long, but they are great once you get to talk to a human. I think they are 9am-9pm central time, but not 100% sure

2) Call the consultant that sold you the disk and see if she can help you....maybe the disk is bad.

Hi there -- the power pallettes (paper and embellies) should be included -- not just the premade pages... And they would be separate package files. So if they aren't there for some reason, I'd call CM first thing on Monday morning as Michelle suggested. They will walk you through, and if the disk is bad, I am sure they will give you download keys so that you can just grab them off the web -- so you should have them by Monday either way. :) I know how annoying it is when you have to wait for your digi stuff because of a glitch or whatever -- that's one of the best things about digi scrapping -- the instant gratification! Have you DLed all of the freebies off of the CM site? You can start working on that in the meantime. :)

Thanks Christy and Michelle for all the help! I'll definately call my consultant tomorrow and if she doesn't know I'll give CM a call. I think the disc is just missing it from what you guys say. It's nice to know I'm not going nuts. I've downloaded a bunch of the free CM stuff, but still have more to do. Thanks again for all your help.

Christy -

Your Christmas template is awesome! Thank you for sharing all of your wonderfully creative templates! Truth be known - I like to check this thread frequently to see if you've shared more templates!

Santa brought me SBC+ :yay: I am just starting to play with it so I am sure I will have many questions for everyone! I have finally made it through all the old posts, but I am sure I will need to read them again ince I have used SBC+ more!
One question I have is how many of you use the Memory Manager? Santa brought me some extra $$ and I have been looking at the Memory Manager....I currently use picasa to edit my pictures, but thought the Memory Manger might make hings easier and quicker for me. Any thoughts?

I don't have any more blank pages made yet. I'll be sure to let you know when I get them done.

I wonder if I could sell CD's of the templates? I hadn't really thought of that. I keep thinking that I can't, but maybe I can...anyone know? Adobe doesn't seem to mind people making templates with their program. I wonder what the difference would be? Hmmm....

Wendi,
Hope you are having fun playing with your new toy.

My personal thoughts on memory manager is I have other programs I prefer and would use the extra money on kits. My husband does a lot of downloading and picture fixing. For us we prefer photoshop since we can load it on his computer and mine. If you are happy with what you got then use that and spend the money on fun kits for your scrappin'
