Who here uses CM's SBC+ for digital scrapping?

That's what I was doing too when I first started with the program... but like you said, that just basically refills the shape with the color -- you'll be much happier with the results with the hue bar.... I especially love recoloring ribbons and alphas, etc... being able to recolor is one of the best things about digi scrapping!

Wow..that's amazing! So glad I asked - the result is SO much better than changing the color! Thanks Christy! :)

OK...another SBC+ question from the newbie here! I guess this will only be for those of you that store your kits, etc on your EHD (Michelle/Disney Baby and maybe Jennifer/cruisecrzy and anyone else I left out :goodvibes ). Where/how do I save the SBC+ templates that folks have created? I have all of my kits, etc stored on my EHD, but can't figure out how and where to save these .page file templates and get them into SBC+. I have played around for an hour tonight and am just frustrated now. :sad1: I am hoping someone can help me without having to call CM...it takes forever and they aren't always so keen on using non-CM stuff! :)

Any help is greatly appreciated!!:goodvibes

Hello :)

I am sure that you will get a number of responses but I store all of my SBC+ templates in one Storybook called Templates. I only do 12 x 12 and 8 x 8 so it works to keep them all in one Storybook file. I use the import page to get them into the Storybook. For example, if Christy(DisneyCruiser2008) creates one, I download it to my Digital Downloads file and then I import it in using import page that his on the home tab.

You can also save it directly to the Storybook file - you should have a folder called Creative Memories that has two subfolders called My Scrapbooking Stuff and another one called Storybooks with subfolders for each Storybook that you have created. You can save the page file directly to the Template Storybook that you have created.

I hope that is not too confusing. I save them all in one Storybook so that I can use them over and over and import them into different Storybook projects . Please let me know if I confused you!!!

I pretty much do what DisneyBaby said... it seems kind of confusing at first, but once you figure it out it works fine.

I have one whole 12x12 Storybook (in SBC+) that I store my templates on. Then, when I want to work with one within another Storybook, I "Import Page" and bring the template into the Storybook I am working on. (So I never save over my original template). The only problem you may have is that the 8x8 and 12x12 page files are not compatible in SBC+. Most of us scrap in 12x12 (at least initially -- even though we may shrink the files down when we print)... so I think all of the templates posted on here are 12x12 page files, and you wouldn't be able to bring them into your 8x8 Storybooks... kind of an annoying thing about SBC+ in my opinion.... You could always use the template in a 12x12 Storybook, save the finished page as a jpeg file and then import the page (like a picture) into your 8x8 book..... I have done that before and it works fine --- it's just a couple more steps.

Feel free to ask more questions... it is kind of confusing at first, but once you figure it out, you'll be good. :goodvibes

Hey Jennifer -- quick question for you.... Now that I have so much stuff, I have not been bringing it all into MY STUFF in SBC+... I just copy and paste in the papers and embellies I want to work with.... When I am working with a template though, it seems like I HAVE to bring the papers into MY STUFF in order to "Fill" the layers of the template.... SO I just bring in the ones I want to use for the template temporarily.... Is this what you do? OR is there a way to fill a selected shape without the paper being in MY STUFF? Thanks! :goodvibes

Jennifer and Christy...Thank you both SO much for the details on bringing them templates in...I absolutely love having more options than CM provides. As always, a wealth of knowledge around here!

Has anyone done one of the CM Photocenter calenders. I was thinking of doing them for the granparents when we get home from our cruise. Any suggestions or feedback would be great. Thanks

adding myself to the group. I don't use CM digital, but trying to decide if it is worth the money.

Quick question for all you SBC+ experts! :goodvibes

I know that I can recolor elements, but can it be done while also keeping the shadows built into the element? Does that make sense? Say I have an alpha from a kit that has various shades of red in each letter. When I change the color, it becomes a flat color. Is there another way that I haven't figured out yet?

Thanks!

If you do chose to recolor an element (maybe you want to match a color) you can add texture to the element by applying one of the effects options found in tools. There are lots of textures that can add interest to an element. Have fun playing and experimenting!

Thanks...I had not thought of that! I'll have to give it a try. :)

I haven't done their calendars, but I have done calendars from Shutterfly and Kodak Gllaery before. I have used their pre-made templates in the past, but this year I might digi scrap the pages. Then I'll just save them as .jpgs and do one "picture" per month. That's my plan if I have enough time!!

Thanks for the information!!

I'm so excited that I found this thread! I'm getting SBC+ for Christmas. I think I'm also getting the Disney Vacation Content Collection. Is this a good combo to get?
We are going to WDW in June, so I'll have time to play around with it before we go.

You are going to love the software.... you might want to check out the tutorials on the CM site -- they are really helpful for getting started.... I like the Disney Content Collection -- especially if you are going to WDW... and as you will see many of us are using a lot of non CM products in our LOs too... the possibilities are endless..... feel free to ask questions as they come up... everyone on this thread is great about helping one another out! :goodvibes

Can you use the Disney content collection w/a different digi scrapbook program? I have Memory Mixers & I love it.

Jennifer and Christy...Thanks SO much for the details on getting the templates into SBC+. I finally used them today and LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them! I will patiently waiting for you to create more to make my life easier! :rotfl2: Hopefully soon, I will ask you to tell me how to create them (once I find a LO that is "template worthy"). ;)

Thanks again for everyone's help. I know that I say that every post, but I sincerely appreciate your time.

That is a great combo to get. You can also start stocking up on digital freebies or kits from other designers before Christmas! Feel free to check my blog for some suggested Disney kits and freebies!

You are so welcome! So glad you are moving right along in SBC+....

I made this LO into a template if anyone wants it? :)
