Who here is still Disney obsessed?

Still my favorite location but the relationship is complicated, I feel like a first wife. I'm now older and disabled and WDW can't seem to decide if it wants to continue with old loves (me & mine) or if it only wants new loves (young families and once in a lifetimers) but I'm hoping a little couples therapy and we'll be hand and hand again. Heard there may be new leadership so time will tell if we will recommit with DVC or not.

Definitely still Disney obsessed over here. They keep raising prices and I keep saying I'm going to cut back, but they just pull me back in time and time again.

I still love Disney even though there are decisions made in the parks that I don't necessarily love. In terms of the movies, I'm not as interested anymore as the recent releases are not ones I care about. I still like coming to this board to discuss Disney as most of my friends and people I know in my personal life do not like Disney and/or have a negative view about the company. They think it's weird that I go to the parks regularly without kids but I think they're jealous /shrugs

Hey, I do that too! Mind you, I haven't been in a while and don't feel comfortable going at the moment, but will be back asap!
I know that a lot of people do but in my circles, it's seen as some weird thing. At the same time they tell me about the booze cruises they go on, which btw, I don't care if they do that. Have fun if that's what you're into, but for me that is something super uninteresting to me. I'd rather go to Disney.

Honestly, I never was. I joined many years ago while planning our one-and-done big WDW trip. Although we’ve been to DLR quite a few times and Disneyland Paris, Disney has only ever been one of a large variety of enjoyable vacation options for us - definitely never an obsession. It really hasn’t been on the radar screen at all over the past few years, given our brutal currency exchange rate and the current pricing vs value proposition.

I stay on the DIS because it’s a comfortable pastime but I think many would agree it’s a shadow of its former self, especially the CB, so it I don’t engage near as much as I used to.

The above speaks to me, as I feel much the same. We go to WDW every year or two for a long weekend BUT are we obsessed? Not with Disney, we like going to new places and seeing new things. WDW is like a old familiar pair of slippers, we go there to relax and reset for a few days. We can go out, have a few drinks and not have to worry about driving home (we live in a rural area and don't go out much cause after a long day at work or on the farm who feels like driving 45 minutes to go out? Not us). But it's not our vacation destination any more so much as a quick getaway.

Hmmm - let’s see…
1-1800 DVC points
2- 4 trips to WDW this year
3- 6 trips to DHHIR this year
4- AP
5- 2 Owners Lockers, going for a 3rd
6- Disney themed luggage that stays packed and ready to go
7- Special Disney wardrobe
8- Disney themed decorations for my ECV

Yup - I think I’m clearly in the ‘Obsessed’ category 🤪

I was for a long time during my son's younger years. But times have changed and it is sooo expensive to go now. I love it when I am able to get there, my last trip was a year and a half ago to Disneyland with my best friend and it was amazing. But I just don't have the means to be planning the next trip at all times like I did years ago. So definitely not obsessed with Disney as much.

Now, I still follow tons of theme park vloggers and have been binge watching all the new Epic Universe stuff recently so I'm still pretty obsessed with theme parks in general.

When i was kid growing up in Florida we went to Disney on average about once every 2 years. We did work in Universal as well and Busch Gardens (90's Busch gardens was a lot of fun as a kid). We never did the week long or longer vacations as we were not very well of financially, but my parents made the effort to go.

After I turned 14 and took my last trip with my mom and dad, I went to grad night my senior year, then not again to any theme park for over 10 years. My wife went to school UCF and had annual passes all 4 of her years there and she was quite Disney obsessed 9still is). She got me to go a few years after we got together and i got bit by the bug. We started going 2-3 times a year for short stays. i credit seeing dads with their kids at MK for making me officially ready for kids.

We continued this trend even after the kids came. i have a thread on here asking advice for out trip when was oldest was 18 months and mommy was 7 months pregnant with my little one. They are 8 and 6 now. Great trip BTW.

As time goes on though, we are starting to go less and less. It's just getting to be too much. We do good but dropping $2-4k on a weekend trip is just, well, a lot. So we have been going elsewhere.

Eh. My sister and I are fifty-somethings and we still go all the time. Or we did. Last time was 2022; they've unfortunately priced us out. I still watch videos and everything, though. I'll get back to WDW, I just don't know when.

Still our happy place to go to relax, enjoy, and make new memories every trip. It's not perfect, but it's still magical.

I'm your Disney princess lady 24/7 1000% percent. Also teach seventh grade, so I bring back merchandise for my classroom. Kids still love it at 12 years old. Even to this day, I've always wanted to be a Disney princess!
