Yep. My boss took the day off, that means I have to be here. Given the nature of what he and I do, one of us always has to be here. I took (most) of Thursday off and Friday off.

Nicole: It's amazing how hard people will work to make a "quick buck" and avoid having to work! Sheesh, what an idiot. I don't think I've ever actually seen a man shopping in YC, I bet that alone made him memorable. And that lady asking for a pot candle? That's crazy!!

DznyFan: Oh yes, the truffles were a slimy sticky mess and I thought for sure I did something wrong, but they look pretty and taste heavenly! SO sorry you have to work today, that really stinks.

Well apparently yesterday I told the kids they could open something this morning so Lyzzie is now bugging the crap out of me about it. I'd better let them open something before her head explodes. She woke up early this morning and put all the small presents in their stockings!

ARgh!!! I was working on this long post and lost it.

Merry Christmas Eve!!

I need to ask for prayers from you guys. A boy that Bree graduated with disappeared Monday night. He was found Thursday morning, alive but in very serious condition. He had slit his wrists and drank some anti-freeze We are all devasted. I can't even imagine what his parents are going thru. No one had any idea that he was considering something like this. He is only 19 years old.

I am almost ready for tomorrow. I have a few more things to wrap. We are going to Blake's sister's house this evening. I am really not looking forward to it, I never do. They are just too wierd, and not in a fun way

I AM looking forward to tomorrow. David, Lesa and the girls will be here!! I know she can't wait to get her hands on Lilly.

Blake and the boys are at their annual Christmas lunch with Blake's buddies and their sons. Naturally it is held at.....Hooters!!!! This is what Matt looks forward to most!!

Good afternoon!!

I've been trying to get one of Chase's birthday presesnts all put together and working. Plus, I am baking a banana cream pie for tomorrow.

And......I have this HUGE smile on my face today!! (just because)

I have to run up to Reasor's to pick up Chase's birthday cake in about 10 minutes or so. We are having cake and ice cream in a couple hours.

No big plans for tonight. I may break open MY Christmas present tonight!!! I want to start playing with it!!

That was FAST - I just sent them out on Saturday! Glad you liked it, we had a lot of fun taking the pictures and choosing just the right one. I was sorely tempted to use the "goofy face" one but I figured the kids would not appreciate that in years to come. BEST BUY?? TODAY?! Are you out of your flippin' head?? Have fun, and good luck. And good luck dipping - I always make a huge mess out of it. Of course, I was trying it without putting shortening in the chocolate because I discovered at the last minute that I didn't have any. Went to the grocery store the other day, what a difference a little Crisco makes!

Michele: That is so terribly sad about that boy. I hope he gets the help he needs. Hooters! That's a funny Christmas tradition, but I bet it's a popular one!

We just made some peanut butter blossom cookies and the house smells SO good. We got pretty much all the cleaning done - as long as nobody looks in the kitchen or any of the bedrooms we're ok. I even set the table with linens and holiday dishes. My inner Martha is making an appearance! (I usually resist her with a passion.) My parents are coming in a half hour or so, Lyzzie is in the shower and Emma is vegged out in front of the tv - again - still in her jammies. I didn't get around to cleaning the floors but I'm sure Mom would be thrilled to help me figure out my new Swiffer WetJet. My brother and his GF are coming around 4, then we are all headed to church. Then back here for Chinese food and the festivities!

9 years ago today I received oe of the best Christmas presents ever.....

Chase was born with pneumonia, so he spent his first days in an incubater...

It was a full 5 days later before I got to really hold him for he first time..

And now....

Chase had a LOT of hair. It was very difficult the first few days. The only way I could touch him was through the sides of the incubater.
