Hi everyone!!

We are digging out from under 7 inches of snow here. Matt and Blake are headed over to my parent's house to shovel. Luckily his brother lives down the street from Blake's parent's house so he gets to do theirs.

Blake, Nick and I went to cut down our tree yesterday. It was SOOO cold. Because of Lilly we are putting it in the basement family room this year. Well we didn't think to measure how tall a tree we could get. We were sure the ceilings are shorter down here. Well we ended up under estimating. We have a Christmas Shrub now:rolleyes1 Oh well, we will make the best of it. I am going to decorate it today.

Ran all of our errands yesterday. I am ALMOST ready for Christmas. Actually I am taking Tuesday off work. The 8th graders are going to see The Christmas Carol. I saw the reworked class schedule for that day. I would only have 1 class to go to. I hate having nothing to do all day. I have a coworker who would love that however. She has stopped coming to some of the classes she is supposed to be in already. But that is another long, venting thread.:headache: So I have decided to just take the day off and get things done.

Have a great day everyone. Stay warm!!

DznyFan----I'm so glad that your dad gets to come and visit. How long is he staying????
I had to laugh at your comments about your sister. I know people like that. Two weeks???? Part of the family already, huh??

We'll save you some if we get an early start.:lmao:

Nicole----there must be some cliqueless crud going around again. Hope you feel better soon. Get lots of rest.

Lyzziesmom----only the best for my buds, ya know. Actually I do love fancy tea pots like that.:snooty: :lmao:
Glad Emma liked her new snowstuff. Nothing like getting an early Christmas gift.
Holy moly------who's car is that????:scared1: :scared1:

YM----Don't worry, I'm sure the lemoncello will last until spring. If not, I know where to get some more.:lmao: Maybe by then Todd S. will be on DVD.
movie-thon-----get ready.
oh no, you're getting sick, too?????
shake it off, girl----shake it off!!!!

I was shoveling my beautiful new $4000 porch when I heard this loud bass music---- you know, the type where you look around wondering what fool has the music up waaaay too loud. Then I realized it was coming from inside MY house. Ooops. Bad neighbor, bad neighbor.:rolleyes1

gotta run.

later kids.:dance3:

lyzziesmom...the pictures of the girls are great. They really look like they are having a great time! We got about an inch...just enough for DS to get out and have fun. My sick one had to say in.

Shannon...oh my...I'm not sure that paprika would be good in egg nog...unless you added after a few glasses (with rum of course).:rotfl2:

Ashley...yeah...your trip is sounding great.

Well, I still have "stuff" to do...I need to send Donna my itinerary!

Oh look, YM finally went out and bought some new donuts.:snooty: Looks like she had a little taste test, though. Can't you control yourself, missy????

Another little "somethin'" for you (then give him back, please. I will only share just this once)(and get that ponytail out of your hair, will ya??)

How was your din-din????

Oh...my goodness...I haven't seen that picture before. Did you take that down in your basement.;) :lmao: Thanks for sharing...I'll see what I can do with my hair.:rotfl2:

I have no idea whose car that is. Someone else posted it on another message board and when you mentioned digging out your car, that's what popped into my head!

Can I come to the movie-thon too?

Wow, that was an insane amout of ice on that car!

Hi Michele...have fun decorating your Christmas 'shrub'...maybe you can post a pic when you get done.;) Try to stay warm. The sun is out today...for the first time in well over a week. I think we are supposed to warm up some. I hope this is all the winter weather we have for the year. We are already 2 two over our snow day limit because of the ice.:headache:

Nicole...I hope you start feeling better.

Lyzziesmom- Wow, it's when I see pictures like that, that I'm SOOOO glad it doesn't snow in Houston!

I'm bored, so I'm researching malls in Orlando!!! :rotfl:

Just a quick pic of Lilly

Have a great one!

Michele - what an adorable picture! Lilly's got some seriously long eyelashes there! Did you get your tree decorated?

2X - my dad is staying for almost 2 weeks. He'll stay out at my sister's for the first few days, then he'll come into town Friday probably and stay until the 28th. I have so much to do this week I don't know how I'll ever get it done!

Lyzziesmom - that iced-in car is crazy!! That's an unbelieveable amount of ice on the car and the bench. And what's up with the car in the background not having any ice?

Almost done Christmas shopping!! I'm waiting on a few things to arrive this week, and I still have to shop for Erin's birthday. I've got the little stocking stuffer stuff to get still, but I think I'm done other than that. I think I may order something from Basin for my sister and hope it gets here this week. Erin's in the kitchen making fudge for her friends. She buys for a few close friends and is giving others fudge. She's making the Chocolate Snowswirl fudge from the Eagle Brand website. I'm pooped from cleaning! And I still neeed to finish laundry, vacuum and dust. Thankfully school is out later this week.

What a busy day!!!

Yesterday, we finally bought a Christmas tree....

Today, we docorated.

Plus, I almost finished all the shopping.....

Here are some pics of the tree and house...

Awww, that's a great picture of Lilly! I just love her little pout. There's something about babies in hats that I find irresistable.

DznyFan: I'm guessing the car in the background belongs to someone who has a garage! I'm liking winter a LOT better since I got one.

I just made my favorite holiday treat: Lulu Bars. What, you've never heard of Lulu Bars? They are my grandma's recipe. I'm not sure if she made it up, but she did publish it in a cookbook and it was credited to her. They are SO delicious, and super easy.

Line a well-buttered cake pan with graham crackers (broken into small rectangles along perforations). Boil 1 cup of brown sugar and 1 cup of butter for 2 minutes. Pour over crackers. Top with 1 bag of chocolate chips and 1 cup of crushed walnuts. Bake in 400 degree oven for 5 minutes or until bubbly. While warm, lift rectangles out and transfer onto cooling rack, aluminum foil or waxed paper. Cool and enjoy.

The beauty of this recipe is that you can sprinkle whatever goodies you want on top. We skip the nuts (we do put nuts on 1/4 of the bars for my dad) and this time we added butterscotch chips, peanut butter chips and mini M&M's because that's what we had leftover from other baking. YUMMY!!

Speaking of ordering gifts, I used my MyPoints rewards to order a Home Depot gift card for my dad for Christmas the other day. AFTER ordering, it told me the card will arrive in 2-6 weeks! Oops -- That's AFTER Christmas! I guess I'll have to just make a card or something that says to expect his gift card soon.

I have an idea of what to give my brother and his GF... please tell me if you guys think this is tacky. Keep in mind that we are not close and only see each other if we happen to be at Mom's house at the same time, and that DB and his GF are seriously underemployed moochers. I have a drawer chock full of free sample items, such as shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, perfume etc. I was thinking of using these to make a couple of gift baskets for them. Of course they'd never know they were free samples, just that they are tiny "try-me" sizes in a nice basket. Tacky: yes? no?

Very nice pictures pozey! But I'm counting 6 stockings... is there something you're not telling us? ;)

Well.......:rotfl:

No, we actually put one up for "adopted daughter" April.

Evenin' Pozey! :wave2: Great pictures! I too counted the six stockings and wondered... I figured it was for her!

Arg!! The DIS is slow again tonight.

Michele- That is a sweet pic of Lilly! She's so cute!

Pozey- Great pics!

Lyzziesmom- Those Lulu bars sound good! I think that the gift you want to give your DB is fine, especially since you two aren't close.
