Remember a while back I mentioned that I have weak ankles? It's been a long time since I twisted one, but about an hour ago I was walking towards my room and my foot turned completely upside down. My ankle just rolled and then the top of my foot was touching the ground. It happened so fast I didn't have time to lean into it, and I crashed down in the hallway. Scared the crap out of the kids - it hurt SO bad. Seems ok now, I've got it wrapped in an Ace bandage and can walk on it but there is this constant hot burn that I hope goes away soon.

I used the opportunity to drill Lyzzie on our emergency procedures, and what she should have done if I did not say, "I'm ok."

I'll be so glad when this week is over.

The first thing she said is, "I think that's enough for a cell phone!" I had to burst her bubble and explain contracts and montly payments to her.

So Miss Lyzzie wants a cell phone? I'm sure she'll find tons of games for her DS! I love the pics! I hope your ankle feels better, mine was bothering me this weekend.

Lyzziesmom, I think the restocking fee only applies if the package was opened. Mine was opened but I thought that the restocking fee wouldn't apply even if it was opened because of the holiday season and from what the salesman told me. Have I confused you yet? That is alot of money though! Love the pics of Emma! Sorry your ankle got hurt...I'm about to go to the gym now. I'll have to be extra careful, I am pretty clumsy.. It's pretty funny that Lyzzie wants a cell phone. Isn't she alittle too young to want that?!

I am so mad. I ordered 12 Mrs Prindable''s apples to give as gifts to people like the girls coaches, GS leaders, and extra teachers. Well it came up that it was delivered, but obviously to someone else's house. Now it's sold out and I have to figure something else out. It makes me so mad that someone else is enjoying my caramel apples, it makes me even madder to think it may be one of my neighbors!

Well I'm heading off to bed. I hope everyone is well, I haven't really felt like reading so I'm a bit behind..... to those that may need it, and for those getting ready to leave on their trips!

Oh not only does Lyzzie want a cell phone (text-enabled, of course) but EMMA wants a cell phone too! And she said, "Not a toy one this time, I want my OWN cell phone, one that really works!" She loves calling people on the phone and actually is pretty great to have a conversation with. Let's pretend she was calling Ashley, she would say, "So, how is Ruby? Tell her not to eat anything yucky because the doctor might poke her paw and then she'll need a bandaid. Do you like bandaids? What's your doctor's name? I'm having some cereal. What kind of cereal do you like?" When Lyzzie was three, her phone conversations went more like: "Hi. ..... . ........ ---- ...... Wher'ahh you?.... I in my room. See my bed? I make it. ..... --- ... ok bye." *click* Come to think of it, her phone skills haven't changed much! She still mumbles into it and hangs up ASAP. Why on earth does she want one?? Well I'm going to hobble off to bed now. I think I hurt my pride more than my ankle - but gawrsh it felt good to have a good cry. Didn't feel so good to scare the kids so badly though, but once I got started I couldn't stop! I was also really afraid I hurt myself badly and wouldn't be able to go to WDW - now that would be a tragedy.

I think I should see everyone here tomorrow but just in case I dont -- goodbye to my lucky lucky friends who are headed down to the sunshine and the Mouse! Bring back some of that nice warm weather, willya?

Lyzziesmom, I hope your ankle is better ASAP. I don't understand people that buy gifts without checking first. I always call my mom and make sure I'm not buying duplicates. Still, it will be great for Lyzzie to buy a bunch of games.

Lesa, that stinks that the neighbors stole your apples. They know they didn't buy them, so why not take them to the correct house. Have you checked local stores (Target/Walmart)? I have seen apples there and they look pretty good (and usually cheaper than Mrs. Prindables).

Donna, lots of for no bad weather tomorrow.


If I don't get to "see" you and Linda again, HAVE A SAFE AND WONDERFUL TRIP!!! I am SO, SO jealous.

Lesa - I'm mad with you about your package! It just upsets me that folks can't be honest when a package is mistakenly delivered to them. I know most people are, but don't they have any kind of conscience? Well, hopefully they're just storing them in their house and haven't gotten around to bringing them to you, yet.

DznyFan...we got our pear trees off our fence but other than that I'm not sure we will do anything. Our neighbor has a trailor so it would be nice if we could borrow it and haul our stuff to the fee dump but I doubt we will get it done before we leave....since it supposed to snow.

Did anyone see the news article this morning about the glow-in-the-dark cats? It is very weird -- they've managed to clone cats that glow red in UV light! I get that it was sort of a test to see if they could alter the genetic code during the cloning process by using something easy to detect (like glowing genes) but geez, how weird is that?? Oh here they are, cute little buggers:

My ankle feels ok today. It's a little sore but nowhere NEAR as bad as I thought it was at first. In fact, I didn't even think it was swollen until I tried to put my shoes on - tight fit.

I was going to run a few errands during lunchtime today, but Lyzzie closed the cats in the laundry room this morning and forgot to let them back out, so they're trapped in there with no litter box. Normally she feeds them in there & closes the door so we know where they are, and then when we're ready to leave the house we close the door between the kitchen & the rest of the house, and open the laundry room door to let the kitties back out into the kitchen & mudroom. That way they have enough space to roam around but not free reign of the house (and Dusty only has 2 small rugs to pee on, which in theory makes the litterbox more desirable).

I woke up late this morning and bribed Lyzzie into taking the trash down to the curb. I told her I'd give her a reward -- now I've got to come up with something! Can't let it be too good, or she'll expect it every week.

Speaking of rewards, we got our Christmas bonuses today. A nice crisp $100 bill. Too bad it's already spent -- and then some!

QVC did refund me for my apples. What makes me so mad is I had 12 gifts taken care of, and now I have go find something else. It's going to cost me much more the $3 the apples would have been. I certainly hope whoever has my apples enjoy them and they rot their teeth out. There is no hope for them to be returned to me as they were delivered on Tuesday.

Oh no! We were planning on attending a pancake breakfast/bingo event at Lyzzie's school tomorrow morning and I just got an email that it's been canceled. We were really looking forward to. There's this pancake place that has been featured on Unwrapped on tv (in fact we attended the taping but have never seen the episode) that brings their griddles and flips the pancakes from the griddle directly onto your plate, they do all kinds of tricks and it's really a lot of fun. No word why they canceled, but I'd guess it has to do with the snowtorm coming our way. Lovely.

Looks like I'm in for another weekend of cooped-up, crabby kids.
