Greetings to all my cliqueless pals! It looks like I missed quite the party last night! And on a Wednesday night! How are ya'll's heads this morning???? Shhhh.... I'll try to be a little quieter...

Life is beginning to resume to some sense of normalcy as of this morning, but we're still WAY away from normal. I still have one building down completely, and about 40 unhappy tenants. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like it's high on the restoration list because there are only three buildings affected in this spot. It'll probably be some time next week, and the natives are restless.
And dang it, silly me!! I keep forgetting my crystal ball and my magic wand!! We were restored some time during the night, as we had power this morning when we swung by for me to pick up my car to go to work. We've been making a LONG commute (but not as long as Linda's!!) every day. About an hour and a half from house to my work. Of an all-time high on Tuesdsay of 246,000 homes/businesses in the Tulsa area without power, we are down to a measly 157,000 as of 10:00 this morning.

Have you figured out what to do with your debris yet? Has the city of Owasso got any plans for removal? Or you gonna wait until you get back from your trip?

Linda - I was hoping I'd have the opportunity to get back on here before you left so that I could at least wish you a very MERRY CHRISTMAS and have a safe a magcial trip! I probably would've gotten my Christmas cards out this week but it's kind of fallen down on the priority list and Linda, I don't know if you'd have gotten your before you left, anyway!! Enjoy that new lens, and be safe!!

Hi DznyFan! Glad to hear things are getting somewhat back to normal. The sun has made a rare appearance here today and it's still cold, but the ice is melting like crazy and dropping in jingly chunks off the trees and power lines. Lyzzie is pretty sad to see it go, she liked how all the trees look like they're made of glass.

I'll see if I can borrow Mom's camera tonight to get the pictures out of it before I forget!

I haven't even thought about getting Christmas cards out yet. I don't know why but I'm not fully in the spirit this year. We have no outdoor decorations up, and only a fraction of my indoor decorations. At this point, I'm not going to bother putting up any more. I'm out of stamps at the moment so maybe the cards will go out next week? Hopefully I'll get to it before Christmas! I haven't felt much like shoppin, baking or wrapping gifts either, although I've done a little bit of all of those and enjoyed it.

Speaking of debris.....I got an estimate on how much someone would charge to cut up my fallen trees/branches......$450!! Just to cut it up....not even including hauling it off!!!

lyzziesmom...I know what you mean. this year is totally out of wack compared to our normal tearing the whole house down and decorating the whole house from top to bottom...and this year...not one decoration at all and all this planning for our trip..it kinda doesn't feel like Christmas! I know that will change as soon as I get to wdw and see all the decor everywhere let THEM do the work

exactly!!! that is what we did...cut it up, loaded it and took it to his uncle to burn! He was HAPPY!!

I know!! However, I do have some trees thatwill require some kind of lift to get the top of the branches and stuff. But.....the $450 didn't even cover hauling it off!!!!

Lyzziesmom, yes, you must share the pics from Emma's play I'm leaving next Wednesday the 19th, the flight leaves at 10:15. I can't wait! I know you've said this before, that Emma looks like Michelle from Full House but I was watching it last night and SHE REALLY DOES! When you said it before I was just like "Oh yeah, she does" but when I was watching the show I just couldn't believe it! Especially when Emma's hair was longer. So cute!

DznyFan, Ruby is doing quite well, (surprisingly! She is always so bad!) We are getting sad about dropping her off for boarding next week though.

Happy late Thursday afternoon!!!

I've got the sheets on the bed changed and washing the last load of towels!! I think I'm officially done with the laundry!!!

Tonight is my packing night; so that I don't have to worry about it tomorrow evening. Our flight leaves at 6:40am Saturday; which means we'll have to leave home at least by 4am!!! Who booked this flight anyway??

Nathan's school hosted a Senior dinner for the district's senior citizens. 2nd and 3rd grades had to sing the songs that they have been practicing for their Christmas program on the 20th. He sang his song to me while I was changing the sheets!! Nothing like being serenaded during housework!!

I donned my bathing suit and was ready.....but no sun.

Drat, I had a bunch of stuff I was going to reply to, then it was time to close up shop and go home so of course I did. Now I can't remember any of it. Except of course swooning over pozey in his bathing suit!

Lyzzie's grandparents sent her two boxes of gifts last week. Yesterday I got an email from them stating they are Hanukkah gifts and they don't want me to "make" her wait until Christmas to open them. Because of this kind of stuff, Lyzzie is convinced she is Jewish and tells all her friends that she is and I keep having to tell her that no, she is not. Not that there's anything wrong with it, but she's not! Her dad was adopted into a Jewish family, but he was born Baptist and we are Lutheran.

So anyhoo, yesterday I started letting her open one gift a day. Yesterday's was a Webkinz panda bear. Very cute. Today's gift: a portable DVD player. We already have two, one for each kid. It was a nice thought, but I really wish they would ASK me before they send her stuff like that. At least they sent a gift receipt - although they send a box of gifts, and an envelope of receipts which do not say what each receipt is for, so it takes a bit of detective work. And of course the SKU and UPC numbers are coded so they don't match anything printed on the box! We finally decided it must be from Best Buy, so off we went to return the DVD player. I kept thinking about Ashley and her restocking fee, and I thought "Great, this gift is going to end up somehow costing me money!"

But they took it back and even refunded the extra 2-year warranty Lyzzie's grandparents purchased. So now the kid has a gift card to Best Buy (where we never shop) for $139.00! The first thing she said is, "I think that's enough for a cell phone!" I had to burst her bubble and explain contracts and montly payments to her. We walked around the store but I told her she can't buy anything until after Christmas, so she can see what she gets and doesn't get. She can buy a lot of games with that for her new DS!

I felt kind of bad because that is obviously her "big" gift this year from that side of the family, and we promptly took it back. But really, who buys a $130 piece of electronic equipment for a child without checking with the mom first?? I just can't use this guy --> enough.
