I had to laugh... we had a dear friend of ours with us Friday night, a friend whom Erin considers as another "mom", and as we were leaving she said, "I was going to go home and have a glass of wine. Now I don't think I will - I think I'll go home and read my Bible for a while!"

What great pics of Erin! I used to do a lot of community theater (fairy tales for kids) and I loved playing the evil characters so much more than the boring ol' princesses. We did Cinderella 3 times, and twice I was Cindy then the last time I was a stepsister and that was so much more fun!

Y'know, I'm just not seeing the kind of Black Friday deals that used to be out there. There's not too much I've been looking for, and since I'll have the kids and no babysitter I'm not even going to bother since mostly everything would be for them. The only thing I was really hoping to find a deal on is a DS but even those don't have good deals unless you're looking for a limited edition color, and even then it's only a few dollars off (which is still more than the "regular" colors). Certainly nothing worth getting up at an ungodly hour to wait in the cold and battle the insane crowds for. Last year there were a couple things I wanted, and Circuit City told me I had to wait in a three-hour line just to see IF the tv I was looking for was even still in stock. Um, excuse me? They were sold out of the other things I wanted -- but I went to WalMart and there were not only tons of stuff left, but hardly anyone there. It's just crazy!!

It's 25 here, with a "feels like" temp of 18. I wouldn't know, we barely set foot outside all day! We only ran out to return Hairspray to Blockbuster, and we went in our jammies with coats on - I just had Lyzzie run out to the drop box. Good thing we didn't get in an accident!

The caramel pie was to die for! I think next time I might use a shortbread crust tho. The graham cracker made it a little too sweet for me.

It did sound so good. Hey, nice to know DH can masaage a turkey.

Ashley...I'm glad you are feeling better. I hope your headaches decrease some more. I take fioricet for my headaches and it works well but they are mild compared to what others suffer. Glad you enjoyed my dog pic!

Lin...I'm so sad I didn't get to make the butter coconut pie. I had to make chocolate and apple at my DM's request. I think I will make the coconut just to eat...SOON!

Pozey...did you watch the news on 6? They said one person set their tent up yesterday at 5pm....that is insane. I think I would rather save my money and pay full price than skip Thanksgiving.

Also, my DS was watching with me when they had that segment on the cheapeast family in America. I had him run into the bedroom to ask DH if he wanted to get some walkie talkies and go grocery shopping.

No, I was watching channel 2. I think some of the people they talked to had been there for awhile.

On the news, a woman said she had been camping outside Best Buy since 8pm last night! The deals just aren't worth it!

I remember camping out for concert tickets when I was about 15 and lemme tell ya, FUN is not what I'd call it. Then again, it was on the steps of the arena box office in 90+ degree heat and my mom came with us.

I'm sorry but at this point, I'd rather skip the purchase or just pay the extra few dollars than camp out for the "deals" going around. The after-Xmas sales are even better. Every year I say we're going to have Xmas a week late, just so I can buy everything at 1/2 price. We've done it once, when my folks were out of town, and it was great!

My mom asked me the other day, "What do you really want for Xmas, because I'm only buying one thing?" I told her I want a GPS, and I gave her a heads-up about a sale price on one at WalMart. She said, "You already know how to get to work and my house, and you don't go anywhere else. What else?" Ouch. Another classic Momism - managing to insult me twice in one shot. Not only am I not getting the only thing on my list, but I also have no life. Thanks Mom!
