Well I got off work early (skipped lunch) so I could race home and wrap the Webkinz for Lyzzie's friend's bday party, so now I'm just waiting for Mom to get here so I can race Lyzzie to the party. While she's there I have to go to the dealership and get my title paperwork -- there goes next week's paycheck!

Hey... do you guys make your crust from scratch when you make pies? I use the old Betty Crocker Crisco recipe. Anyone have a good recipe to share?

I use the Pillsbury Premade Crusts and they are FAB!

Lin: I liked the Zebra Domes too, but they were not at all what I expected. I thought they'd be bigger, like a Hostess cake, but they were so tiny! And I did not expect them to taste like coffee (blech!). But after three or four, they were much yummier! Lyzzie was so mad she couldn't try them because I had talked them up to her not knowing they were alcoholic. Oops! Who is your favorite singer who's in KC? We have a lot of great venues here but they are all very tiny old theaters, as far as large arena acts go we only have a crummy old stadium with horrible parking and most of the larger national acts don't bother coming here.

GARTH BROOKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today has been pretty hectic, I should have just taken the day off. It started with oversleeping and not having time for a shower so I feel really gross and have icky hair, which always makes for a bad day. Then I discovered that Dusty pooped on the living room rug, and Lyzzie forgot to close the bathroom door so yep, Dusty peed on that rug. Emma found it when she stepped on the rug while I was changing her out of her morning surprise. I forgot it was trash day so I had to bribe Lyzzie to take the trash can out to the curb and now I owe her $2 -- and she's already figuring how many more chores she needs to do in order to afford to clothe her new Build-A-Bear bunny. By this time we were running 10 minutes late and I still had to get Dusty outside. When I went into the laundry room to get her, of course both kids had to join me so it was really crowded and hectic. Lyzzie guarded the door so Roxy didn't escape while I yanked Dusty out from behind the dryer, but Lyzzie wouldn't put her bunny down so she was manning the door one-handed and Dusty snuck back in. It was a madhouse but we finally got the right one out and the right one stayed in. Whew!

Then I got in the car, heard a "ding!" and discovered I was low on gas. Great. I sent Lyzzie in to the 7-11 to buy donuts while I pumped gas ($3.06 for the cheap stuff!! $40 to fill the tank, yikes!). It was her first time going into a store alone and she took forEVER, I had to go help her when I was done but she did a good job. That's when we realized the birthday party gift is still at home, unwrapped.

Long story short (too late!) things went downhill from there once we got to Mom's house. And it's been a crazy morning at work too. I wish I was still in bed sleeping!!!

Thanks for letting me vent, I know it's all little stuff and none of it is a big deal but all together I'm just feeling overwhelmed this morning.


On the bright side, I got a lovely postcard from WDW in the mail yesterday!! Thanks 2x2s!

I got one too! And we all love you even if you had a hectic day! You rock!!!!!

Nathan's team lost, but was tied with 50 seconds left in the game. The team played really well and we're pretty proud of how much they've improved since the last game!!! GO BLUE!!

I'm going to get ready soon to head into town to do some grocery shopping and check on the equipment installation at the cleaners.

We'll have to leave around 12:30 to take Nathan to another game today. His team may have to play again this evening; depending on whether they win or lose.

My baby had to go early this morning and take a placement test for high school. I can't believe how fast this time is going. I told her she has to work hard to do well and not just play connect the dots. She did that last year on the ISAP test and she scored really low in reading comprehension, which by the way she is very good at. She got bored doing the test and just started filling in dots. I got a letter the other day she was recommended for tutoring in reading comprehension because of her low test score.

No, not really. He walked by and I said hi. He stopped and shook my hand. I told him I was a big fan. He asked ME what MY name was. We talked about the reasons we were there at the hospital. Then a whole lot more people came up and I just walked away.
