Linda- They haven't been over there yet? I can't believe all those things he said.

Pozey- I'm sorry! I'll say a prayer for you. :grouphug:

I'm another one that needs Lasik. I have a bad astigmatism. I'm too scared to get it though.

Well, I have to run a couple errands before swimming tonight.....

I have to go to the bank.....

and then I have to go to REASOR'S to get a thing or two... :rolleyes1

I'll probably be at REASOR'S in about 20 minutes or so..... That would be about 3:40 - 3:45.....
well, good luck:hug: and have fun at REASOR's:rotfl: at 3:40 ish....

Oh no pozey! I hope everything works out for you with your job. Good thing you've been scouting for a new one already, hopefully things will fall into place. Best of luck!

Linda: I can't believe they haven't inspected your ex's home yet but they've talked to him! Of course he's going to put his spin on it to make it sound like everything's fine, and don't they realize that with that much time, he's got time to fix things up for the inspection? It should totally be a surprise, to see what things are REALLY like. Hopefully the caseworker has enough experience to be able to see through the BS. I wouldn't be letting Kenny go over there either if I were you. What a crock!!

I have an uncle - my mom's youngest brother - who is in jail because of custody issues. He started out in a similar situation as you are... he was the responsible one and his ex is a nutjob! Her house was totally unstable, she lived with her mom while she went out and partied all the time. Then things got crazy. She kept calling the cops on my uncle for the tiniest things and not letting him see the child, but then she took it too far and had a restraining order put on my uncle because he insisted on taking the kid anyway, when he was supposed to, but she didn't want him to. He pushed her and took the kid. Then he didn't want the kid to go back to her when he was supposed to, so he tried to keep him. She pressed kidnapping charges. (I may have some details wrong but that's the gist of it.) It went on like this for months, and even though my uncle had good intentions, he just didn't listen to the courts and landed his butt in jail. The crazy thing is, he's still trying to get visitation! He wants this baby (the same age as Emma) to visit him IN JAIL! He just doesn't see that this is NOT in the child's best interest. The saddest part is that my uncle, who was always the nerdy quiet guy, has decided he likes jail. He's got a place to stay, decent food, and a job working with computers. I'm not sure why I'm telling you guys this, other than something in Linda's post made me think of it.

I'm not letting him go. What's he going to do??? Kenny's safety is more important! I wish he could just be a good father and do right by Kenny, but he just refuses:sad2: :guilty: it breaks my heart!!! I know it breaks Kennys heart! He loves his dad, regardless of what he does. He doesn't understand how bad a lot of these things are, he doesn't remember him being abusive...but I just have to put my foot down! This is too much to ignore.

wow..your poor uncle. You want to do the right thing and protect the poor child and now the poor guy is in jail. Yikes! He might like it there, but in there he's not seeing his child:guilty: and worse...the child is w/her:scared: it is so frustrating!!!

she agreed he'd down play and basically deny everything. DUH.. but the important thing is to go to the house and see w/your own eyes too!!! But... I guess the good thing is that there are so many MAJOR things that I seriously doubt they'd have fixed, even w/a few weeks notice:sad2: its just sad!!

Oh Nicole, you could handle lasik. It is really easy and painless. It took like 30 seconds and you were done! They give you meds to relax you, and you don't feel anything at all!

I'm afraid of the lasik too, even though I really REALLY want it done. Since numbing meds often don't work on me, I'd be afraid I'd feel something. They say they eyeball itself has no nerves in it, but I'm not sure I believe that. I've scratched it before, and it HURTS! I don't know if the relaxing meds would work either. I'd be willing to give it a chance though, just for the ability to be able to see my alarm clock in the morning! I can't count the times I've whacked myself in the face with it trying to pick it up & look at it, and it's got the BIG numbers on it. I used to want an alarm clock that projected the time onto the ceiling in 3-foot numbers, until I realized I wouldn't be able to see those either. It's really bad. Even with my contacts, the best they can do is get me to 20/30 in one eye and 20/40 in the other. Depth perception? What's that? And I have bad dry eyes which clouds up my vision even worse. My eye dr. wanted me to get special moisturizing contacts but they were $800 for a year's supply! Thanks but no thanks! There's a procedure they can do that puts tubes in your tear ducts to help moisturize the eyes but I don't know if my insurance covers that. I think the healthcare system stinks! I know doctors go to school for a very long time, but seriously, it's crazy how much it costs just to be healthy. When my DB was first diagnosed with leukemia, his hospital bill hit $100,000.00 in the first week!! My parents pay a ton to keep him on COBRA now that he's over 25 since he doesn't have his own job, and even if he did he'd have a hard time getting covered since it's a pre-existing condition.

Back to lasik (sorry I tend to wander so much!)... I used to work w/a guy who went in to have it done, and the laser broke in the middle of it! He ended up having only one eye done, and having to go back a few weeks later for the other one. I'd have been terrified and not wanted to go back to the same place! The first eye got all red and puffy and looked really bad for a while, but it all turned out ok and he was glad he got it done in the long run. Scary though!

Linda...I'm so sorry! I can't believe they haven't inspected his house yet! Even worse they talked to him on the phone, giving him every opportunity to straighten up for the time being.:sad2: That's just sad! They had Chinese food in the fridge. I don't even think Britt on her own would go into our fridge to warm up left over food to eat, I can't imagine a younger kid and at someone else's house! That's just plain crazy! I'm so sorry! Do you have a lawyer you can talk to? As much as I hate to see Kenny go over there again, I would hate it even more if you were to get into trouble and it go against you for not sending him. I'm so sorry, I can only imagine how hard this is for you and Kenny having to go though this. Be strong, and from now on call and report any and every little thing that is not right! Poor Kenny!

I have to fill out a dumb booklet for Maddie's girl scout troop. It is for their fall sale which I don't do because people only really want the GS cookies, not nuts, candy, and magazines! I have to address the pages in the booklet and the GSs send them out for people to purchase magazines. Anyway, their troop gets $2 for every booklet that is turned in. I tried to donate $5 dollars and just be done with it, but Maddie won't get the patch. :headache: So know I have to finish filling the darn thing out by tonight. I've run out of addresses and still need like 5 more, would anyone be willing to PM me your address. Your not obligated to purchase anything, actually throw the darn thing out when it comes, to me their magazines are over priced.

Boy it seems like everyone is getting a lot of headaches lately. YM I hope yours goes away before tonight so you can play cards. I'm also sorry about your work schedule tomorrow, that really stinks you'll have to miss your DSs game!

That stinks Pozey! My fingers are crossed you don't get laid off!

I'm afraid of the lasik too

I used to work w/a guy who went in to have it done, and the laser broke in the middle of it!

I wasn't too thrilled about the idea, but I was like you... BLIND! I got to the point where I just told myself, I'm doing this... that's all there is too it:laughing: the biggest thing was wanting to swim and see at the same time w/o fear of losing $600 contacts! Waking up w/o having to do anything:cloud9: it is so worth it!!!!

it broke:scared1: I can't imagine!!!

I had it done after several people I know, I'm sure that helped ;)
my ex had it done when they first started doing it. My sister had it done, my ex fil, ex bil, ex sil..they all loved it!! I'm so glad I got it done too! Plus I got it during a promotion where I basically got it done 1/2 price!! My co-worker finally did it last week b/c he ended up having 1k left on his medical savings plan and it's "use it or lose it"...or I don't know he would have gone through w/it.. I'm telling ya, he's a total wimp and admits it:laughing:

pm sent ;)

I know, that is what I was afraid of too. She asked me if I planned on sending him over, like it was up to me..but I told her I was wanting to talk to her and see where things stood. If she agreed Kenny wasn't safe in the home, I'd think I would be legally safe not to send him ;) but she didn't go over yet. :headache: I agree...report everything, it'll add up and they'll finally do something! My lawyer just got back from vacation and hasn't called back. I called and talked to another local atty. though. they didn't seem to think I should worry if I didn't send him this time :cool1: now to see what happens next week when she's supposed to go there!

sorry you have all the GS stuff to do!!!

ok.. time to fly outta here guys! have a great evening and weekend if I don't "see" ya:hug:

Thanks Linda! I hope she goes over there like she says! It sounds like you have grounds to keep him from going over there. Hug our little Kenny for us!

Linda- I'm a wimp too! :rotfl:

Lesa- I'll pm you my address.

My aunt had Lasik when it first came out, it didn't work the first time so she had to have it redone. Also there was a girl in one of my classes last semester that only had one eye done and the other eye was constantly red! It was creepy!

All this talk about Lasik gives me the heeby jeebys! I watched it done on TV:scared1: I don't advise watching it being done before you go and have it done!;) DH really needs to get his eyes done. We have to see how much we have left in the reimbursement account in Dec.

Hi, everyone!!

I just finished catching up!! Nathan has ball practice at 4:30 but wanted to say "Hi"!!

pozey:: Sorry to hear about the job situation. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!!

Linda:: I hate to hear that Kenny has to go visit his dad this weekend. Maybe Kenny could have a slight fever and cough; that is going around you know.:rolleyes1

Lesa:: I'll send you a pm as soon as I get back from taking Nathan to school.

YourMajesty:: Sounds like you may be a little chilly tomorrow morning. Did you Boss Lady assign you to outdoor duty? It was 28 degrees here this morning:cold:
I hope you get over your headache:headache: Definitely NO FUN!!:sad2:

Amber:: How is the baby's room shaping up? I'll bet it will be so adorable!!
That really is a pain you have to be at the hospital so early tomorrow. You need to be there for a reason though...to keep you and the baby healthy.:goodvibes

Not much planned for me this weekend. We have to go pick up the Cub Scout popcorn this evening and deliver it tomorrow.
On Sunday Gary want to go to a slot car show/swap meet type thingy in St. Louis. It's held twice a year at the same place and we never miss it. I just like the eating and shopping afterwards.;)

Better go make sure Nathan has his stuff together for practice!!!

See you later gators!!:wave2:

OMG!!!! I just went to give my coworker the deposit so he could go to the bank, he was watching a video of a girl wiggling around about to take off her shirt!!!! Watch that stuff at home, not here!!!!! :scared1: :rotfl:

Yikes Nicole! Whenever I go on vacation and train a temp, I always tell them "You can use the internet but no porn!" They always laugh and joke about it, but it's sad that it even needs to be said. How can that even be exciting? I mean, they can't "do" anything about it at work!?

Lesa: Our GS troop doesn't do any "fall sale" but we are doing cookies. I have the forms at home and completely forgot to even look at them. We did the magazines at the end of the school year last year but Lyzzie (I mean *I*) didn't sell any -- well I did, but then the leader said to turn the orders in to Denise and didn't give a last name, and I had no idea who that was and there was no meetings for a month. I had Lyzzie turn the orders in to her teacher and they eventually got to the right person, but it was too late. I was reading a GS thread on here yesterday and I can't believe how expensive scouting is for some people! Ours is cheap but VERY disorganized. The leader forgets we don't all know each other and often I'm left having no idea what she's talking about. All communication is via email which is great, except she just forwards the stuff the council sends to her so much of it makes no sense to us parents. Next year Lyzzie will be a Junior, hopefully we'll have a more organized leader.

BTW Lesa -- I can't see your signature picture. I noticed last night and forgot to mention it. It just says "Image hosted by angelfire" and gives the url address.

They always have a catch to make your kids bug you to sell. Maddie's school was giving out Webkinz to kids that sold I think 10 items. :headache: Maddie bugged and bugged, but I told her I would buy her a webkinz! The stuff they sell is junk and way over priced. I wouldn't mind selling stuff if it was something worth the money. I also don't see why the GS try and sell this stuff. I don't know of any parents that really let their kids sell it, I think they should sell the cookies 2x a year! Anyway, her troop is a really good troop, her leader is wonderful and very organized!

You can't see my sig? :scared1::sad2: What the heck is up with this. Why can I see it and no one else? :confused3 Same with some of the smilies I have posted. I'm glad you told me, I'll have to try and fix it later. :headache: Thank you!

Lesa- I don't know if he turned it off, I ran away! :rotfl:

When I was in GS many years ago, we didn't have to sell from a magazine. We only sold the cookies. Lesa, is it cookie time again?

Now can you see my sig? It's not animated anymore!:sad2:

Sorry Nicole, cookie time isn't till spring. I don't know why they don't do it 2x a year, the people at DHs work are always asking when she is selling cookies. I swear they could make a mint selling twice a year. No one wants nuts, candy or overprice magazine subscriptions! You were probally more embarrassed then he was!:lmao:

Thanks guys! I have enough addresses! You guys are great!!! :flower3:
