The old woman that used to play Sophia on the Golden Girls (the one who used to carry her purse around all the time)------------------Grandma Mazur???? okay, maybe I am showing my age. Is she still alive---I don't mean this to be insensitive, I am just not sure. But this is who I picture when I think of Grandma Mazur. :scratchin

Lyzziesmom...I so get your "How are we gonna know?" comment. My gene pool is a little shallow. My mom is great but man is she a flake sometimes. Sometimes she will want to say something and the strangest things come out of her mouth, she has no control apparently. Years ago she and my dad were in the grocery store in the frozen food section. She wanted my dad to get something, who knows what, but what she actually said to him was "Listen to my fart!" He just walked away and acted like he had no idea who she was. :rotfl2:

Last year she and my dad went to get their flu shots. They call me all upset, sure they have gotten a bad batch, are having a major reaction whatever. There is a huge, and I mean huge cuz they came over so I could feel it, yippee, hard lump on their arms at the injection site. They are convinced that they are dying. They go home and call a few minutes later "We're cured!!" They took off the bandaid.....it was a cottonball!!! :confused3

I tell them Alzheimers is going to hit and NO ONE will notice!

I should have gotten more done around the house. Actually I would have been doing well to have gotten anything done around the house today. I did go to Kmart and Target and got most of the school supply shopping done. I love buying that stuff. I bought DD18 a Will Turner folder. I told her she could take it to college and will be the most popular one there :rolleyes1

Poor DH he left the house at 6:30 this morning and is still on a plane. Poor thing as soon as he lands in Beijing he will be met by his guy who works in China and they have to get right back on a plane and fly to Shanghai. He will get to see some amazing things but I don't envy him this trip.

2xcited2slp...aren't those the best books. I can't stop myself from laughing out loud at some parts. My folks introduced me to them. My mom was in the hospital having surgery on her leg and my dad and I were in the waiting room. My dad was reading one of them and was literally snorting he was laughing so hard. We got the strangest looks.

Think about it...the guys in the book are like Will Turner...Morelli, the good guy who is still adventurous and Ranger is Jack Sparrow, the sexy bad guy who you know you could never really tame. Ok I have to go to bed, my gene pool is showing ;)

Night all!!

I love that idea! I dont think Morelli has a beard but I dont think Vince would be right for morelli unless he has a beard, looks too nice. Plus I think someone else should play Morelli as M. is supposed to be HOT. Leo of the 70's show is the Hippie who is always stoned like Mooner.

Okay, I've got one. My mother will KILL me if she knew I posted this. (I actually think I posted it somewhere else a long time ago on these boards--so you might as well say goodbye to me now.)
Anyway, years ago when burglar alarms first came out for residential areas, my dad, who always has to have the best electronics, had a guy come out to their house to give them a quote. Well, the salesman did his thing and told them that for the same price or whatever, they can have a combination burglar/smoke alarm. Well, lo and behold, my mom looks at my dad in a very confused manner and says, "but all burglars don't smoke." Imagine the look on the salesman's face. She has not lived that one down to this day.

The more I think about it though, do you think Orlando Bloom is rough around the edges enough for Morelli?? I think he may be a bit to young looking. I, of course would want Johnny Depp somewhere --because, you know, he's my man, but I'm not sure if he would be a good Ranger. Ranger in my mind is this big, tough guy, and Johnny, well, sorry Johnny, is kind of a "littler" man. What about him for Morelli?? Just thinking. He can play some really tough guy and then be really sweet too. I've seen it. :rolleyes1
Ranger is of Latin descent, right?? What about Antonio Banderes (sp?). I am not a huge fan of his but he's not bad, either. I don't know. :confused3 Although, I am not familiar with him at all, but what about that Rock guy as Ranger?? I think I am pulling at straws.
I, of course, will play Stephanie. hahahaha :lmao: :lmao: I whish.----I could spell--sorry, just noticed that.

Goodness me, you guys are cracking me up tonight! Cut that out, it hurts too much to laugh out loud!! I could post more stuff about my mom, but I'd be here all night.

I just had to add... Leo from the 70s show is Tommy Chong. As in Cheech &. And I'm pretty sure Sophia from the Golden Girls is still alive; she was actually the same age as, if not younger than, the rest of them. She just wore a lot more fx makeup. Estelle Getty, that's her name. Why can I remember this crud but not if I had dinner tonight??

I apreciate all the responses and well wishes for a speedy recovery! I love you guys :) I just finished the 7th Stepanie Plum book and have come up with more suggestions. I dont know who started this but it takes up a lot of my free thinking time. I think Mooner could be played by Leo of the 70's show, Stephanie's Dad could be the guy that plays Red on the 70's show, and Dougie could be played by the guy on "What About Mary" who has the shoe obsession.Ok, thats enough for now. If Vince Vaughn were to play Morelli, he would have to have the beard.

I start my new job tomorrow and am a little nervous. I hope everyone has a great week!

It's hard trying to cast that crew!!! Hey, I was watching the Fugitive last night on TNT and found a good cast for Vinnie. It was the assisstant to deputy Geraldo...I think they called him Cosmo...can you picture him.

Good luck at your new job tomorrow...hope you teeth are feeling good. :goodvibes

We have our very own Plum. :woohoo:I would need to be her bestfreind...Mary Lou...the short one built like a brick house. :rotfl2: Oh, and yes I creid too at the end of #12...and what did she finally tell Morelli. I'm going to need to watch some movies and read some People magazines...I feel like an old maid. I just can't place Morelli or Ranger. :scratchin I was thinking last night...who would be a young Harrison Ford (he's way to old now).

Donna: You will soon be casting with us. :woohoo:

Linda: The Air Force marathon is in Dayton. We still lack our flight. It is hundreds of dollars cheaper to fly into Indianapolis and rent a car...so I think we will go that route. I looked up Mansfield on the map! Have you stayed at the Shades of Green before. We love it! We were there last year during the PGA Funai classic and could see the golfers from our balcony.

Lyzziesmom: Hope your headache is gone in the am. You and I would get along great at the ball games....just leave when the food is gone. :rotfl: Glad your boss is back...does this mean less of annoying lady now?

I know I missed something....I'm behind. I went to church this am, out to lunch, and then took a 3 hour nap. Lyzziesmom...your not the only one that took a darvocet today. My hip was killing me (long story but it's related to my ankle injur/surgery). I have to work again tomorrow. You guys will probably be giving me the  but I feel like I'm working full-time (increased from 10 hours a week to 16). I guess I'll be used to it soon.

Hope everyone had a good weekend. :sunny:

Good morning you night owls!!! :sunny: I had to hit the snooze twice this morning!!(insert sleepy smiley). Everything is set out for you guys; whenever you get up you can help yourself.

I think I have something like 5 days left before we leave for vacation! I hope you all don't mind me going on about this, my mom and sis just don't understand how I can get excited about going the same place every year!!!! Have started to work on getting the laundry done up and getting house in order.

The sofa repair man did a super job on our chair!! The fabric looks a little newer and fresher, but that won't last long.

Well, can't really think of anything new that has happened.

Everyone, Have a Disney Day!!!! pixiedust:

Good morning!

Donna- I'll have a glass of chocolate milk please!

Lyzziesmom- I hope your feeling better this morning.

I spent my weekend at 2 birthday parties. A 2 year olds and a 23 year olds! I had good times at both!

Good Morning, everyone!

I read through everything that I missed through a cold-medicine induced haze, so I'm sure I missed a lot. We had a busy weekend - Saturday was spent lounging and washing the dog, Sunday was spent running around trying to gather up everything our DD needed to go on this mission trip this week. I didn't even look at a computer yesterday. I should have stayed in bed - felt a nasty summer cold coming on yesterday, and feel like poo today, but it is my accounting month-end so home is not an option.
In addition, our DD leaves on a church mission trip today to the gulf coast of Mississippi, doing Hurricane Katrina rebuilding. :sad1: But she's doing a great thing, and she's doing something she loves - helping people. I got a call from my nephew on Saturday, he's being deployed this week. He's in a sniper unit in the Army, and he said they won't even tell him where they're going or what they're doing. *sigh*. He's only supposed to be gone for 4 months. DD's DBF (whom the jury's still out about...) leaves for Basic training in a week. And I've got a cold.

Now that I've whined....

Donna - hated hearing about your new loveseat!! But I am glad that they did a good job with the repair.
YourMajesty - :cool1:  party: :rockband: My dance comes a couple days late, but Congrats on 900 posts! Did DH do any more running over the weekend? He certainly had good weather for it. I hope you're feeling better soon yourself!

Lyzziesmom - very excited to hear about the house possibility! Sounds promising! Migraines - ugh, I can relate. I had a little surgery about 2 years ago, and I no longer get them - mine were hormone related. I can live without the headaches post-surgery, but not happy about the extra pounds I've gained. Hoping you're better, keep us posted on that house! :)

LindaK - I think I checked out that cruise site - we can get the rate down to 3,100 for the 4 night through AAA and a couple other 'budget' cruise sites - but that's about it. We're pretty limited on when we can go - DD is in her HS Jazz Choir, plus it's just getting so tough to take her out of school - we can't really go on off seasons, even for cruises, she's just too busy! End of May it is!

Ashley - sorry to hear DH didn't get his raise - sounds to me like he definitely deserves it at this point. Love politics in the workplace!

I know I'm missing some of you, I'll have to go back and revisit the weekend's posts when I'm not foggy-brained.

Thanks Donna for leaving the stuff out. I need it this morning. I may even go for a cup of coffee. :scared: Don't get me wrong, I love coffee, it just doesn't love me, if you know what I mean. This is why I do better with tea. :teeth:

Ahh, are you my twin sister??

Old maid?? Umm, excuse me, as we are the same age. (38 last April)---at least you are married--but let's not get me started on that again. :crazy2:

Hope you are having a good day at work. :worship: ----------> cuz I just can't leave this out.

Don't mind one bit. Are you flying or driving?? I forgot if you have already said. Just curious.
Some people just don't understand the Disney thing. Too bad for them.
Have a good day and thanks again for the morning wake ups.

Good morning and happy Monday everyone.

I’m just trying to get caught up with all the weekend happenings here in the cliqueless clique……

DsnyFan……I’m not sure what to tell you about your sister. That’s a tough one. I know the feeling of not wanting to hurt her by saying something negative to her, but then you also don’t have the same likes and dislikes. I can somewhat relate with my brothers. Hugs to you.
Also, congrats on the news of your cruise. That will be fun. I have been on a couple of cruises, however the last one was close to 10 years ago. We plan vacations usually about a year in advance. We are still talking about where we are going next year.

We had some very good weather for a change this weekend. No more 107 degree temps!!! Saturday was especially nice.

We had a pretty good weekend. We went to our favorite Mexican restaurant Saturday – Ted’s Café Escondido. Yum. Then, my 7 year old DS went to a friend’s house. His friend was having a birthday party/sleepover. They went to a minor league baseball game Saturday night, then went to McDonald’s and a movie Sunday. He was exhausted when we picked him up yesterday.

I did a lot of yard work and painting yesterday afternoon.

My DS(10) and DD(3) swam and watched a Brady Bunch marathon yesterday.

And YourMajesty.....a belated congrats on 900!!
