Happy Friday night everyone-----

I just spent 2 hours sitting in gridlock on the highway. I could not tell if there was an accident or what, but I could literally see my exit. It was right..................there...............but..........I.............could......not...........move. So, what did I do?? You ask?? I turned off my car--like everyone else--turned on the overhead light and read my Stephanie Plum book because, yes, I just so happened to have left it in my car from the other day. Lucky me. (just for you YM :worship: :worship: )

Things are still very odd here. We had another really bad storm again this morning. I was at work when it rolled in. It was quick but again, pretty dangerous. They are still saying that 500,000 people are still without power. I keep thinking I am hearing this wrong but I don't think I am. The heat has let up a bit, however. It is creepy driving down a main street and everything is pitch black.

Again, thank you everyone for your concern. :grouphug: :grouphug:

Well, I think I need to be held back a grade because you all are posting beautiful pictures of yourselves and your families and I just learned how to multi-quote. :confused3 :teeth:

Ash--cheer up pup. Everything will work out the way it is supposed to. Your DH should be persisitent, but not overbearing and difinitely get the re-evaluation in writing. Be careful out in that sun--no burns!!!!! :sunny:

Lyzziesmom--YUK--flooded laundry room?? Hopefully it will be up and running again soon. I am glad your brother has such a good outlook on his health. This attitude helps immensely. Did they do treatments on him, and if so, what type, if you don't mind me asking. And your grandma too, wow. Nice of your mother to comment, though. ;)
Good luck with the house.  ----and it's not "too keyed up to sleep", it's "too excited to sleep"---I'll let you borrow it. :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: we're happy dancin' for the house.

Tinkgirl Nicole--how's your grandma?? Still keeping her in my prayers.

DznyFan--oohh, that's a tough call. Can you start monopolizing the conversations and then when it turns to her just say, "well, gotta go"?? I know, sounds immature. I'll have to re-think this. Maybe if you just confront her and say something like "Although I love hearing about what is going on in your life ( ;) ), I feel that sometimes you are not interested in what is going on in my life and in order to have a closer relationship with you, I would really appreciate you listening to me as well." Would she get the hint or would this upset her?? Keep us posted.

Donna---how many more days?? Happy belated to your DH. (I pm'd you :sunny: ) Oh, and if you are up early tomorrow, (Saturday)--a cold chocolate milk does sound good as Lyzziesmom suggested--make that two.

April--all is well, I hope. Have you made a spare key yet?? That's awful, I don't think I could have handled it as well as you. I would have completely freaked.

Linda--I'm right there with ya on the Disney cruise. I went on a little 3 day about 5 yrs ago?? Can't remember right now. This was my one and only cruise so I have nothing to compare it to, but we had a blast. It was so relaxing. We would get up early and have coffee and crossoints delivered from room service and sit out on our balcony and take in the ocean breeze. AHHH. I am itching to go on another. Did you happen to go into their spa?? I did not have services done but the eucalyptus room was amazing with the warm stone chaise lounges around the fountain with that lovely aroma filling the air. Heaven. Thanks for the lovely pics. :cloud9: :cloud9:

Hey, YM :worship: :worship: ----dietician, huh?? Would you mind if one of these days I PM you with a couple of questions?? I know sometimes people don't want to be bothered with work related stuff here so let me know.
BTW, cupcake, loving #12. About halfway through. Ranger makes me melt. But then again, so does Morelli--decisions, decisions. :p

Hi Cyndi and Pozey :wave2:

One more thing before I go---------LET'S GO TO DISNEY-----------OR A DISNEY CRUISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone with me??

Got the coffee, tea, coke and 2 chocolate milks waiting on the bar!!! Hope you guys don't mind 1% milk!!!(It's all I've got!!!)

We had quite a storm that hit our area about 1pm yesterday. The tornado sirens went off and at one point know we heard one. A sound you don't forget. Sort of like a rumble and a wind whistle (I all it a whirrrr?) Fortunately for us it veered south, but unfortunately the larger town south of us was pretty heavily damaged. It is located where 2 major interstates join---many major truck stops, etc. Anyway I was going to take DH out to eat at a Lone Star there, but had to change plans and eat at a local place. The food is delicious, but the service is a bit slower. Had a good meal!!! Got home late and didn't even check in last night. Well, I tried to after work but our internet was down because of the storm!!

Lyzziesmom: I'll keep my fingers crossed for you about that house!!!! :yay: Sounds like house decorating may be in order!!

Ashley:I feel for you on Dh's job and pay raise. Can't tell you how many times we've been through that in our marriage!!( Will be 18 years in Oct!!) Please try to remain calm (easy for me to say!!) and know that you DH is under a lot of stress as well. Sending you a group hug!! :grouphug: :grouphug:

DznyFan: I have a sister that is about 18 months younger than myself. Sometimes I will be trying to say something or tell about an event of the day and she interrupts so much I finally just give up!!! I love her but I KNOW she wasn't raised in a barn!!!

Got to go, have and early appointment with a sofa repair person!!! :rolleyes1

Good morning everyone!

Lyzziesmom- Thanks for the advice. I hope you get that house!

Dznyfan- I think 2xcited has great advice regarding your sister.

My grandma goes in for a lumpectomy(sp?) on Friday.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Good Morning all you cliqueless-ers

As you can see by the time of my last post I was up late last night---too late for me, so I slept in a bit this morning. My phone did ring about 7:30 this morning and it was my mom. She wanted to know if I was affected by the watermain break. I had no idea what she was talking about. Then she said she heard on the news about a break at Hampton and Hwy. 40----------aahhhh-----so that's what I was caught up in last night. Yes, I know it well, I said--about two hours of sitting dormant on the highway well. She said it took out more power around the area. Lovely. Mine is still ok, though--whew.

Today I am going to afternoon tea with a friend of mine. We have been talking about doing this forever and finally just decided to do it. I am so excited. I know it may sound lame but I love doing things like that. This will be my first official "tea" but it will be good practice for my October ressies at the GF tea. :thumbsup2 I will then go to my partents' since I will be out their way because they keep asking my to see Pirates again. Don't have to twist my arm to see my boy Johnny. pirate: I will probably just stay out at their house tonight and come home in the morning to face my cleaning. Yuk. I will enjoy today, though.

A good Saturday to all!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lyzziesmomma---keeping my fingers crossed for you today. Will you find anything out today?? Let us know.

Happy Saturday everyone!! :sunny:

Nicole: I'm still praying for your Grandma. Hope your feeling alittle better today.

2xcited: I hate traffic!! How miserable. Be careful with those storms.

April: I miss you, where are you?

I would love to go on a Disney cruise! That is a GREAT idea. Lets plan one.

Right now I'm going to take a shower, and then go and get a pedicure and my eyebrows waxed. yay! I think I'm going to get a BRIGHT red on my toes. Right now I have a darker color and I'm sick of it! I want something bright for the summer!!

I don't want 1%...it's half and half or nothing. :rotfl: Actually, I'm going black because I can't afford the calories. I do love to splurge with the half and half but I usually don't keep at home. Thanks for the drinks...they are perfect.

Hey 2xcitd: Babe ( :rotfl2: )...what's with all the disasters...are they following you?(just kidding of course...when it rains it pours)...hope things settle down soon. :goodvibes Hey, enjoy your tea. My mom and I did a tea at the Grand Floridian in Oct. We enjoyed so much...she loved it!!! Who are you going with? PM me anytime with your questions.

Hope everyone has a good day! :)

A good Saturday afternoon to everyone! The weather is BEAUTIFUL here today, so I have to wash the giant dog.

2xcited - I appreciate the input on the sis front. I've been putting up with this for years - it's hard to say if she'd take 'constructive' criticism, but I almost think she would be wounded. I hate to do that to her, since she is so sensitive. Sad to hear of being stuck in traffic for 2 hours - ugh!! And just because you haven't learned multiple posts or pic posting, we won't hold you back a grade. Just make you go to special ed. (JUST KIDDING, OF COURSE!) I have friends who are so computer illiterate they don't know how to IM! (you DO know how to IM - right?)

Lyzziesmom - hope you have terrific luck house hunting - it's got to be tough trying to compromise your needs with what your parents want as an investment. Something will turn up!

Where is April, anyway? Hope she didn't get locked out of the house again...

Donna - thanks for the coffee and the insight - I guess I checked in a little late for coffee - but how 'bout a nice rum and fruity by the pool?

Pozey and YourMajesty - awesome weather, huh?

HAPPY SATURDAY, ALL!

Hi everyone!!! Just got back from running a few errands, banking, grocery store, tanning(we don't have a pool) and some last minute items at Walmart(sorry we don't have a target) Sofa repair man came this am. A few months ago my DH bought DS a PSP and a generic charger to go with it. On night right before bed they had it plugged in. I noticed an eclectrical burning smell and the darned thing had melted a portion of my love seat about the size of a dime. We've only had this set since last summer. DH did some research and noticed that brand of charger had been recalled. The company is supposed to pay for the repairs. Probably glad they didn't have to pay for a new home burned to the ground!!!! ......I'm ok now had to get that off my chest, again!!!

2excited2slp: Please enjoy your tea. It's been awfully stressful in your area lately relax and enjoy!!! And yes, practice for your GF tea!!! :snooty: (Just kidding about the snooty smilie!!!) :)

HelloKitty86: I vote for a summer color on the toes!!!! Enjoy your day!!

YourMajesty: I will try to do better reguarding you drink of choice!! I tried to lose 20 lbs. before my trip, but only managed 10lbs. :furious: Oh well, nobody to blame but myself!!!!

Have a Super Saturday everyone!!!!!

Hi DznyFan!! I think we were posting at the same time!!! Giving the dog a bath sounds like....you might get wet!!! Hey, great news on the Cruise!!!! Planning is sooo much fun isn't it!!!

The weather is absloutely georgeous here as well!!! The sky is so blue and humidity is low; a perfect summer day!!! The calm after the storm....literally!!

Well the family is staring at me to fix lunch gotta run!!!!

Happy Saturday everyone!

Yesterday I had lunch with a terrific lady whom I work for on occasion. I used to work in the HR department of Delaware's weekly newspapers. There are 12 of them all owned by one family and the HR was over all of them. Anyway, I liked the job but I hated the people I worked with. Well, one person in particular. I was there for quite some time but then DH and his family's business got a bit bigger so it was a great time for me to come home. However, from my time there I made many great acquaintances and have on occasion gone back to help out in different departments. I did a stint in Classifieds for about 8 weeks and I've answered phones at the front desk when someone's needed a day off. But the department that I do the most fill ins for is the Printing Department where we sell business cards, wedding invites, brochures, letterhead and stationary, wrestling and other sports programs. . . you name it. Earlier this year I filled in in that department for over 12 weeks when someone had to go out on FMLA. There was a good chance that person wasn't going to come back and I was going to take the job as I LOVED it. Loved the job, loved the office and loved the boss! Alas, the person came back. :guilty: But, I'm still great friends with the manager of that department and that's who I had lunch with. She is what a manager should be! Some people are managers because they've got the years in or whatever but they don't have what it takes to be a manager. This woman does have what a good mangaer should have and everyone in her department loves her. She is fair and she's just good at it. I've seen her get upset, (for legitimate reasons) handle the situation with the person involved (which might involve her sternly raising her voice but not yelling) and then go on about business as usual with the person. It's like once the problem has been addressed she doesn't hold a grudge. And you can respect a person like that. She isn't a micromanager and she is good at delegating. As long as the job gets done in a timely manner she's happy. Some of those people in her department of have been with her for years and I know of two people who said once you retire I'm gone too. I also told her the same thing if I had taken the job. I told her once you're gone, I'm leaving too. I can't speakly highly enough of her. :goodvibes So, that's what I did yesterday.

Today I'm supposed to be decluttering for our impending move. I HATE HATE HATE it. I'm no good at it and I get easily frustrated. I want as little as possible in the house so it looks nice for staging (think Sell This House the t.v. show) but I'm horrible at this!! I just honestly wish I could get going on this. I feel like I'm holding us up! Anyway, that's my day.

Nicole, I'm so sorry to hear about your grandmother. I will pray for her! The lady I had lunch with is a breast cancer survivor of 6 years.

Ashley, I'm sorry to hear your DH didn't get his raise. Hang in there. :grouphug:

Linda, you have great pictures! Thanks for sharing. What kind of camera do you have. I want this fabulous Sony that is in Best Buy. I always have to go play with it when I go in there. It's like $500.00 and that's what stops me from buying it everytime. :sad2:

lyzziesmom, sure hope they fix the problem for you. And Emma's new saying is too cute. :goodvibes Fingers crossed on the house!!

DznyFan , thanks for thinking of me. :goodvibes Cute dog! I have a black lab and I think he has some horse in him. Just kidding. :joker: But, he's my big ol' baby.

2xcited2slp, glad you are ok. We are getting torential down pours as I type this. It's been thundering and lightning and raining all day.

DonnaLeah, thanks for the refreshments. Delicious as usual.

Talk to you all soon. :wave2:

I appreciated all the happy birthday wishes even though it was pretty rotten. You might remember I was getting my teeth pulled. They put me under yet I felt EVERY tooth being pulled! The funny thing is that I dreamed I was with the mob and they were pulling my teeth trying to get info out of me. I think I have been reading too many Stephanie Plum books! Speaking of.....I had a idea that Jessica Biel could play Stephanie and maybe Vince Vaughn could play Vinnie. What do you think?

How are you feeling today? I was can relate to your vision. I had one of my own under drugs during labor...the gory sceen in Fugitive when the wife is dying calling out for her husband...Richard...Richard...he's tyring to kill me(long story about my labor). Maybe you have been reading too many Plum novels. :rotfl2: Jessica Biel is an interesting choice....but Vinnie has to be a little weasel...I think vince is more Morelli type...but let me think. :scratchin

April: Oh....I can't relate about not being an organizer. I can't even get started usually and if I do I'm frustrated after 10 minutes! Good luck...when do you move?

Dznyfan: Boy it was an awesome day. DH is training for a marathon and did an 18 mile run this am and couldn't believe how great the weather was. Congrats on planning your next disney curise. : :mickeyjum :mickeyjum

Donna: Hey, remeber you saved me about 10 grams of fat this am. :woohoo: Did you keep the 10lbs off you lost?? I need to lose 20...and remember nutrition is my job...but eating is my passion.

My hubby is planning on running the Air Force(he's in the reserve) marathon in Ohio. We booked some of our trip today. I'm shooting for the 5K...oh well better than nothing. :teeth:

Hi all!!! We're having a wild Sat. night I see!! :rotfl2:

YourMajesty: Had to quit dancing, my tootsies were hurting!!! Congrats on the milestone!!! I think my 10lbs are still off. With all the eating I've been doing lately, I'm kind of afraid to step on the scale!!! :scared1:

Lyzziesmom: Find out anything on the house yet, or do you have to wait until Mon???

Dolphinrescuegirl: Sorry about your crappy birthday.:( Next year DON'T plan a visit to the dentist!! (Just a suggestion) Hope you get to feeling better and enjoy a belated celebration of some sort! :drinking1

ForTheLoveofDisney: Glad you enjoyed your lunch. It's good to keep in touch with people that are special to us.

MI mom of 3: HI!!!

The house we want is owned by a bank, so there will be no news until Monday. Aaaaack! The suspense is killing me! At least our weekends are usually cram-packed, so I won't have too much time to obsess over it. But I've already had re-decorating dreams! I think we were the first to make an offer on the house, and my folks have already said that no matter what the counteroffer is, they will take it. So chances are good. The only downside to that particular house is that it is a lot MORE house than we were really looking for... the utility bills would be much more than I'm used to.

It's kind of funny, there was recently an estate sale of the house's contents, and apparently they stored everything that didn't sell in the basement & garage. Well, the realtor put a note in the paperwork about removing all the junk, and my mom yelled, "NO! I want all that junk!!" so they crossed that part out. As if I don't have enough of my OWN junk! (I'd insert a "moms are so weird" joke here, but now that I am one, they are not so funny.)

Today I took the kids to a local childrens farmstead, which is sort of like a farm/history themed zoo. It's pretty neat, and best of all it's free. We did a hayride, pony rides, bottle-fed baby goats, mined for 'gemstones', and joined a musical troupe of sheep. (6 sheep who were all baaaaa-ing for about 20 minutes, each one's voice was a different pitch. It was quite hilarious!) A good time was had by all.

Tomorrow we are going to a KC Royals game (baseball). We are so not sports fans, but I got free tickets from work and they are giving away a Build-A-Bear to each kid, so buy me some peanuts & cracker jacks, we are off to the ball game. DD7 just wants to collect her bear & eat some dippin' dots and go home. I've invited my folks but they can't decide if they're going or not. The best part is, if they win, we get a free dozen donuts from Krispy Kreme by showing our ticket stub! Mmmmmm..... donuts.
