Doing the Happy 900th Post dance!!

dolphinrescuegirl, so sorry you had to go through that on your birthday. Hope you're feeling better real soon!!

YourMajesty, we don't have a timeframe with the move. We're not being transferred or anything. We just want to move. We're seriously leaning (might as well say already decided) towards South Carolina. I think that's part of my problem. I have no "deadline" to work against so when I get so easily frustrated I just walk away. :confused3 I'm a mess I know.

Hi everyone. Hope you all had a great Saturday. I am just trying not to kill DH. He is leaving tomorrow for 2 weeks in China. He is making me crazy  Everytime I turn around we have to run to the store for something else he thinks he might need. Now I have been after him for weeks about this. This morning he decided that he needs a new sportcoat :confused3 NOW??? Ok, off to the store. Of course they don't have the one he likes in his size so we go to 2 more stores, then back to the first one where they order it for him but he leaves in the morning so he won't have it for this trip so we just wasted a couple of hours.

Plus he is acting like he will be gone forever and I can't possibly manage without him. I keep telling him he is going for 2 weeks he isn't being deployed! Oh and this trip is getting to be a fishing story. Everytime he talks about it the plane trip is longer, and he will be gone longer.

I am planning to repaint the bathroom while he is gone. Plus I am taking the boys and going to Illinois to visit my DB and DS and their families. It should be fun. My parents and other DB and his family are going too. DD18 has to stay home and work. It is the first time I have left her alone but I trust her...plus I have ALL the neighbors watching her for me. :rolleyes1

YM...congrats on making it to 900!! Good for you.

Lyzziesmom...Have you heard anything about the house? Let us know, or better yet post some pictures.

HelloKitty...what color did you get? I need to have a pedicure. I've never had one before. I have a french on my toes that I do myself with a paint pen ;) It really works well.

April...I can come over and help you declutter. I have gotten good at it. Too good most of the time. I go thru things and throw most of it away, but in about 6 weeks I am desperately trying to find what I just got rid of

MI mom of 3 said:

Ha! This sounds so very familiar. I could never get rid of anything, and one day I looked around and said Enough! Now I go through spurts where I will toss a bunch of stuff, I feel like I just want to get rid of it all. Then I end up rebuying most of it.

If I really want to declutter, I just call Mom. That woman will throw away anything - as long as it belongs to someone else. (Which is why it's hilarious that she wants a house full of junk.) I wasn't away at college more than a few weeks and my first visit home was a shock... my room was empty. Everything off the walls, empty closet, just... empty. Like I never lived there. Actually, that one still makes me a little mad. :rotfl:

Lets all have a good Sunday - no storms, floods, lockouts, anesthesia dreams, evil coworkers, or anything else that has been plaguing us non-cliquers!

my goodness girlies--you all are making me tired with all the dancin'.----ok, here's just one :dance3: ---cuz even though these are beyond annoying, they have kind of grown on me.

Ashley--hope you enjoyed your pedi. Yes, I agree with something summer-like in color. The brighter the better right now. I wish we lived closer, as I would love to do your brows.

YourMajesty said:
Hey 2xcitd: Babe ( )...what's with all the disasters...are they following you?

Umm, YM :worship: busted a gut on this one. You're tooooo funny, girl. I'm telling you, I am even starting to wonder about the parallels between Ms. Plum and myself ever since you brought it to my attention. :lmao:
I went to tea with a friend of mine who I have known ever since I started working at the spa. She is a client of mine and over the years we have just gotten to be good friends. She is a bit younger than me but her husband is about 12 years older than me. We get together every so often but she lives no where near me so sometimes it is hard. We had a wonderful time. I felt like such the "lady". I can be prissy sometimes but not that prissy. I will PM you soon--too late right now and my head is too foggy. :bitelip:

DznyFan--I hope you can come up with something about your sister. It is so hard when someone is so sensitive. You don't know what to say--feels like your walking on eggshells. I know I sometimes can be this way but over the years I have become so much more laid-back. It is hard to deal with people like this, though. Good luck. Oh, and what's IM?? :rotfl2:

Beautiful golden!!!!!!!!!! My ex and I had a golden--he was such a sweetie!! ( the dog, not the ex ;) ) What's your big guys' name??

Yay, a Disney cruise!!!!! Sounds delightful!!

Miss Donna--yes, I had a lovely time at my outing today. And I held my little pinky finger way up high with confidence as I sipped on my spot of tea. (insert a couple of "nose in the air snooty smilies" here--cuz I am on my dad's computer and I think he has them blocked)

What a scary story about your sofa. No kidding about the house being burned down. You are lucky you smelled this before it got too bad!!!! Crazy.

Wasn't the weather just joyous today?? Finally.

April---It's nice to catch up with old friends, isn't it?? Glad you had a good lunch and visit yesterday. Decluttering sucks.(can I say that??) :confused3

DolphinGirl-- I forgot about your teeth pulling thing on your birthday. You poor girl. Are you feeling any better??

Interesting choices of characters for SP. I was thinking of Paul Giamatti (sp?)--the guy from Sideways--for either Vinnie (creepy weasle) or maybe as Steph's sister's husband--don't remember his name (weak-walk all over type of guy). I think he could play either part well.

Hi MImom---what's been going on in your world??

I think it is time for beddy bye for this chicky. I will probably read a bit now. I am trying to savor as much of #12 as much as possible because I am always bummed when I am finished and have no idea when the next one will be out. Any ideas how many total Janet Evonovich is planning to write in this series?? I know I have read a couple of her others but they are just not as good as the Plum books, IMO.

Talk to you all in the a.m. Sleep tight.

Ooops, I see I missed a couple of posts. I will catch up tomorrow. Good night once again.

Hi Lyzziesmom--how are the three girls??-----------------------------see, I included you---and you thought I was just being silly again. :teeth: :teeth:

Hi everyone!!!

I really enjoyed my pedicure. I got a hot pink color! I was having a hard time deciding what color to get, so the lady just picked it out for me. She did great, I love the color! I also really like my eyebrows. But WOW my skin was RED for acouple hours. They are still a little red, but it can be covered up with concealer. I'm glad I treated myself!

April: I'm so glad you had a nice lunch. I had dinner tonight at Macaroni Grill myself, it was yummy!

2xcited: I wish you could do my brows! How much do you charge?? Just wondering.

dolphinrescuegirl: I hope you feel better. What a crappy birthday present! Atleast when I was put out, I didn't feel anything. I remember hearing some suction and that was it! I was so worried that DH swore that I wouldn't feel anything- and then he told me if I did, he would take me on a Disney trip the next weekend! Then I was actually hoping I would feel something! But I didnt.

lyzziesmom: I hope you get the house! Have fun at the baseball game. My parents just went to one tonight actually, I'm jealous!!

Good night everyone! Have a good Sunday. :sunny:

Good Morning Ladies!! :sunny:

I woke up this am to use the bathroom and thought, please don't let it be 8:30 (the time the alarm was set to go off). Well, it wasn't 8:30 but it was 8:18. Bummer!!!!!! I was so sleepy and I just wanted to run to the bathroom and come jump back in bed but there really was no sense in it at 8:18. Got to get ready for church but I'm drinking a cup of Early Gray so I thought I'd multi-task and do some dising too. :thumbsup2

I'll probably be in and out, off and on all day :teeth:
My dad is over from New Jersey so I'll go to my sister's to visit with him for a bit.

Have a great day everyone!!

/
Good Morning everyone!!!

I don't have alot planned today, but sometimes that is subject to change!!
Last night I actually cooked dinner (I usually don't do that on weekends) Dised a little and then covered up on the couch!! I missed all of the late pm chat, but I usually do!!
Yesterday DH decided we should go ATV(4-wheeler) shopping for DS7! They must have cooked this up while they were in Phoenix; brought an ad home from Pep Boys with said ATV circled!!! I wonder which is worse the little boy or the big boy?? We checked out a couple of places because the nearest Pep Boys to us is Evansville, IN about 90 miles away. Sticker shock was had by DH, so no ATV just yet. We have a path in the back of our house that goes through the woods to my sister's house. DS needs an ATV so he isn't left out. The only one on the block without one!! (DH's words, more or less, NOT MINE!!!!)
Hope everyone enjoys their Sunday, It si a beautiful day here!! :sunny:

DonnaLeah said:

That's too funny. I know one of the things my DH is looking forward to with the move is more land so that he can ride 4 wheelers around the property. Of course we need alot of property not to mention, he'd need a 4-wheeler.

Me, I just want some peace and quiet that much land would afford.

I could really use a Disney fix right now. I was telling DH how every one of our weekends have been commandeered with something and that we need some downtime without cell phones and computers (sorry disers  ). But, I don't think I'd like Disney in July even though I'm pining just to be there. :sad2: I think I'm craving the time of reconnection that DH and I usually find there amongst the Disney magic.

Do you guys ever wish you could be there so much that if it were a physical thing it would hurt? That's how I'm feeling. I'm dreaming about Disney, thinking about it, talking about it with whoever will listen (mainly DH). I sent him a really cute Disney e-card with a long little message from me recalling our last Disney trip. :sad2: I don't know, I guess I was dreaming that he'd read it and all of a sudden realize that we just NEEDED to be there! I tell ya' I'm jonesin' bad for a trip. If it were up to me, I'd throw caution to the wind and just go. I'm spontaneous like that many times much to my own detriment (or so DH would like me to believe :rolleyes2 ). I want to go so bad I've even thought of going solo but I just don't know if it'd feel the same so then it would really be a wasted trip. Once I went w/ a girlfriend and her two kidlets and it was fine as trips go but it just wasn't the same w/out DH. :worried: I think it's DH+Me+Disney(=)that make the Magic. :wizard:

Don't know what I'll really be doing today. Went to church, then went to my sister's and had breakfast w/ them and my dad. Now, I'm supposed to be home changing out of my Sunday clothes but my jeans were still in the washer and now I'm waiting for them to dry.

Just wanted to stop in and say hi and see what was going on with everybody else. I wish we all lived closer. It'd be cool to hangout.

Talk to you soon. :wave2:

April:: I surely do know about the Disney trips!! But would not recommend this time of year. Our business closes one week out of the year and next week will be it. By theory that is supposed to be the hottest week of the year!!! Dh and I always liked to go to WDW in early May, also went once in October.
No computers!!!!???? I'm sure Dh will take a laptop when we go, I'll be able to give mini trip reports every night!!! :sunny: I'm more than sure everyone would find our trips pretty boring in comparison. How could you possibly know in advance where you will be and what you will want to eat? I'm not being sarcastic, that just isn't us!!! Sometimes we are in the car at home and still discussing which direction we're going to go and where we're gonna' eat!!!! :drive: The only ADR I have made for this trip is for the Fantasmic Dinner Pkg@ Hollywood&Vine.(I have been hearing some pretty negative reviews, but will have to find out for ourselves)
Yes, having the land is pretty cool. I grew up in the house to the south of us and we love it here. We have about 15 acres that join to my sisters land.

Hope everyone is having a good day! :sunny:

Hey guys  what a weekend so far! Yesterday morning I went over and gave my MIL a haircut and a perm, then to movies to see POC and to Outback for dh's b-day that was Tues :) Ohhh that was tasty! Today I've been a couch potato... sinus driving me crazy and just wanting to sleep!

Dznyfan... sounds like my sister! Everytime she calls my dh says "what did your sister want to brag about now?"!! She goes on like I make as much as her and her dh put together..which isn't true..I WISH...but still not true... she's got 3 kids and it all about her...all about her kids. I love them to death...but it gets so old. When I've had enough, I just tell her I gotta go :) Love your pix w/dog by the way :) adorable!! That is so awesome you guys are planning another cruise :woohoo: I love it  I can't wait to see when we can go too...maybe we'll end up on the same one? We're going to do the 7 night eastern. If you want any websites to check just let me know. I sit and play all day trying to find great prices. Might want to check www.cruisecompete.com too! The ta's just send you prices and compete for your business. The cheapest I found through them was the 7 night eastern cat.6 for us 3 for $2600!! That's w/military discount. Good luck cruise hunting. As April said...I want to go so bad it hurts!

lyzziesmom... good luck w/the house. It sounds like it would be great. Lets home there is something valuable in thier junk. You never know :) The place you took your kids sounds like a lot of fun!! We would enjoy that too!

2xcited2slp...I can relate w/the traffic problems. I've had to sit for hours so many times... it drives me crazy!! It usually takes 1 hr 20 min but when it takes 2-4 hrs sometimes...I just want to BE HOME! If you need help posting pix. let me know. What aren't you sure about? Do you have the pix on your computer? Do you have them downloaded to www.photobucket.com? On our cruises..I've definitely been to the spa. The first time I was 2 mo. pregnant w/ds and I got the body massage... Ohhh that was so nice. Before ds was born I use to go to a spa pretty often but now I don't go hardly at all. From once every other week to maybe once a year! I've heard the rasul is great...and plan on doing that w/dh next time :cheer2: Oh yes...lets go..cruise, wdw...whatever works!

Donna... wow, hope they repair your sofa ok! ATV shopping :) We have an atv and love it. We have a house and a few hundred acres in KY we go and play on. its is so much fun. ds5 wants one so bad too. dh's buddy has one that is about his size we're probably going to buy from him...maybe $300..that isn't too bad. I would look for a used one if you're having sticker shock :) they can get ridiculous!!

April...hey there :) hope you're doing better. So much going on. Decluttering, getting locked out :)..all that good stuff... I have a canon power shot. Its only a G2...I bought it a few years ago...now they have a G3. Mine is only 4 mega pix but it really is all you need. If you're not going to be printing bigger than an 8x10...that is plenty! I love my camera. I paid about $450 new but the same camera you can buy at Best Buy for about $100-$150!! I got the camera , the photo printer, memory cards and all the goods and spent just over 1k. My sister...she's got over 2k in her camera alone. her girls are in gymnastics and I guess that is one of the hardest sports to capture pix of. The other parents pay her to take pix of their kids!!! its crazy! Wow...I wish our boss was like her...she sounds great!! Glad you got to see her! I'm always in need of a disney fix. Always checking flights...even though I usually drive. I wish I could fly down and do my x-mas shopping at DTD  Wouldn't that be awesome!! We could fly to the AF base close to there for free but you might not get a ride home... I've never done that yet...

dolphinrescuegirl...sorry you had a bad birthday..but I had to laugh...the mob coming to get you was too cute. :grouphug: We won't let them get you! Hope you're doing better!

YourMajesty... dh coming to OH for an AF marathon...that's too cool. Welcome to the Buckeye state! DH just retired from the AF..and we live in Mansfield,Oh..where is the marathon? Columbus? That is great!! Congrats on 900th post :) :woohoo:

MImom0f3... wow dh going to China for a few weeks...have fun w/o him and if you need anything, let us know. Not sure where in MI you live...but we're about 3 hrs. from detriot...I think we're going to have to come up to the Cabelas store sometime soon. I love that place. Yummm an elk sandwich sounds great!

Take care all and have a great Sunday. It'll be gone before we know it...

Hey everyone.

I had a nice day today, I went to the gym and then went to the pool. It was perfect outside, not too hot! Now DH is watching Star Wars on the TV and I'm just vegging out!

Hope everyone has a nice, relaxing day!! :)

"Ello puppets" (officially taken from POC 1 &2)----

How was everyone's Sunday?? Mine was good, but I did not get nearly the amount of things done that I was supposed to. In fact, I did not get any done. :lmao: :lmao:

I ended up going to my parents' house yesterday after my tea :snooty: :snooty: (just for Donna :teeth: ) and we went to see POC again--yay for Johnny. After the movie we went for dinner and then I just stayed the night because after DISing for a while I was pooped. But, instead of being a good girl I stayed up until 2am reading about Steph. Plum's antics. Needless to say I had to sleep in a bit this morning and I was chatting with my mom and dad about the trip in October and all of a sudden it was noon. How did that happen?? My dad asked if anyone was hungry (of course) so he wanted to go to IHOP for the funnel cake breakfast---because he lives for sweets. I was good and had a poached egg, dry wheat toast and fruit. YUM-E. Of course I was sitting across from a funnel cake perfectly "fried" with strawberry topping aka red sugar water with wilted berries and LOTS of beautiful whipped cream. SIGH. :cloud9: It virtually tasted heavenly. I then came home and have been piddling around here a bit but not doing what I was supposed to do. I even took a nap. I am off tomorrow, however, so maybe I will be more focused. Let's hope.

Lyzziesmom---did you get your doughnuts?? I am not a sports fan so I have no idea if KC won or not. I cannot believe what a mint the Build-A-Bear company is making. The woman who founded it is from St. Louis and was at my sister's wedding. They do not keep in touch much anymore but will talk every so often. She wouldn't know me from Adam--or the female version--which I'm not sure what that would be--Adama?? You get the picture.
Your mom sounds like a hoot. Nothing like going away to college and discovering your things are gone. Did she store it or give it away??
Good luck with the house tomorrow. pixiedust: coming your way.

MImom--Your DH's "fishing" story cracks me up. Have fun while he is away and don't work too hard--he may just come home to a whole newly decorated house, huh?? :artist:

Hi Ashley--glad you like your toes and brows. Is this the first time you have had your brows done?? I have extremely sesitive skin so many times after waxing I am still red the next day. I sometimes recommend putting ice on them after waxing or if you do not have any allergies to cortisone you can put a bit of that on them (a cream you can pick up at Walgreens or Target or wherever--Cortaid is the namebrand but they have off brands that work just as well--do not use this if you are pregnant or nursing, though, because it is a steroid cream FYI)
I charge $25 for eyebrow shaping. Yes, I know this is steep but I work in a high-end salon and I don't set my prices. We really take time with the brows, though. We book out for 20 minutes and really look at the shape of the face, features, etc. It is still less than Anastasia, however. :rotfl: Maybe for you there would be a DIScount--get it?? :lmao: I'm tired. Forgive me on the slap-happiness.

April--
I think it's DH+Me+Disney(=)that make the Magic.
This has to be one of the sweetest things I have ever heard. Yes, I know what you mean about wanting to go so badly. Right now I am appeased because I know my October trip is right around the corner. But, after that, I will again know the feeling well. I did go on my first solo trip last Feb. and had so much fun. Yes, it was strange at times but I spoke to people when I wanted to and didn't when I didn't want to. I surprised myself by going solo but I think I was just so burnt out on everything and really needed to get away. I, of course, chose WDW because I know it like the back of my hand and felt very safe and unthreatened there. I would do it again in a heartbeat. My motto was "alone but never lonely".
Yes, it would be nice to hang out with all of you. We could sit around with our coffee and tea and coke and chocolate milk that Donna supplies. :teeth: Someone could teach me how to scrapbook because even though I have never gotten into this, I think it would be fun.

Donna--that's cool that you live so close to your sister. Maybe you DS could get one of these -----> :moped: .
Will you really give mini trip reports when you're gone?? You have more patience than I, girl. I cannot wait to hear how your Fantasmic plan goes. We are doing this on our upcoming trip but we are eating at Brown Derby. I am a bit nervous about the timing, but I am sure all will work out.

Linda--how did you like POC?? and Outback?? yum. Okay--here goes my sweet tooth again, but have you ever tried their hot fudge sundae?? I cannot remember what it is called but it is vanilla ice cream rolled in toasted coconut and swimming in the most outstanding hot fudge. I cannot rave enough about this chocolate sauce--it is their own secret recipe--believe me, I have tried, but with no avail. It is wonderful!!!
About the pics--I am new to the digital camera thing so right now I don't really have any pics worth posting. My problem is time, though. I just need to sit down and figure it out. Soon, though. Hopefully I will get some great pics this Oct. Plus, did I mention I hate having my picture taken?? :confused3 Whole 'nother story. :dance3:
Hope your feeling better. Get some rest.

YM :worship: ---I finished it. Did you?? Did you like the ending if you did finish. We must discuss. I cried when you know what happened to you know who. I am such a sap.
I am truly torn between the two men in her life. At first I was all about Morelli but now Ranger just holds a special place in my heart. Oh my goodness, I really think I am morphing into Stephanie Plum. :rolleyes1

Have a good night everyone.

Sounds like we all had busy weekends. Went to baseball game today - got cute bears, ate too much junk food, went home early to nap. Had fun. Saw the house again... like it better 2nd time around! Took lots of pictures, won't bother with posting until I know if we get the house or not. Found out for sure we were the first to make an offer.

Horrible migraine all day. Started last night, didn't sleep it off. Getting worse. Darvocet didn't help. Vicodin didn't help. Lortab didn't help. (Didn't take them all at once - I may be crazy but not that crazy!) Getting much much worse. About to give up & take Ambien so as to get a decent night's sleep and hope to sleep it off tonight. Can't miss work tomorrow - boss is returning after several weeks gone & my desk is a mess. Lot to catch up on.

Hurts to think. Good wishes to all, sorry I can't address each & every one of you right now.

Thought I was done for the night then saw your post and must respond. First, I too have no idea if KC won. Not a sports fan either, and left 1 1/2 hours into the game. Food was gone!

About my mom & my stuff... she threw it out. In the trash. Also, the woman held on to my childhood dollhouse for years & through many interstate moves... until DD #1 was 2 and we moved from FL to KS. She picked that move to toss the dollhouse. Just when DD was getting big enough for it. Again, would insert "weird mom" joke here but don't want karma to find me. The standard joke in my family is "How are we gonna know?" As in, Mom is already so strange, how are we gonna know when it's time to put her in the home? :rotfl: Maybe a little mean, but funny if you know her.

Ok I'm going to bed now. Really. I mean it. (Does anyone remember the commercial years ago, I think it was for Toll House Cookies, where the little boy was running away & he went to the door & yelled "I'm leaving! I'm going! I'm never coming back! I'm leeeeeeeeaviiiiiiiiiinnnnng!!" and then he smelled the cookies & everything was ok? That's like me & the DIS! I'm ready to leave, but I can't!)

Lyzziesmom----

Ooohhh, I know how you feel---been there. Hope you can get some rest. I always end up putting a cold pack on my eyes to take some of the pressure off. Feel better.

I apreciate all the responses and well wishes for a speedy recovery! I love you guys :) I just finished the 7th Stepanie Plum book and have come up with more suggestions. I dont know who started this but it takes up a lot of my free thinking time. I think Mooner could be played by Leo of the 70's show, Stephanie's Dad could be the guy that plays Red on the 70's show, and Dougie could be played by the guy on "What About Mary" who has the shoe obsession.Ok, thats enough for now. If Vince Vaughn were to play Morelli, he would have to have the beard.

I start my new job tomorrow and am a little nervous. I hope everyone has a great week!

Hello, this evening!!! 'Bout time for nighty-night!!! Sounds like everyone enjoyed their weekends!!!

2xcited2slp::I just gained my 10lbs back listening to you describe funnel cakes and special sundaes!!! :lovestruc Have a good day off tomorrow too!!!

Lyzziesmom:: Is tomorrow the big day when you find out about your house? We will be thinking of you!

Lindakmonty:: Your place in Kentucky sounds like heaven. Is it in Eastern KY? We have definitely thought of a used ATV, but need to talk to our neighbor and get his opinion. This is something we know NOTHING about!!

Hellokitty86:: Sounds like you had a good day. How disiplined you are to go to the gym!! Wish I had your energy!!

Everyone enjoy what is left of your weekends!!!

dolphinrescuegirl:: I probably missed a post about your job. Good luck tomorrow!!! I bought my first Stephanie Plum book today. I've got ALOT of catching up to do!! I am only on pg.43!!

I am going to have to go back and re-read the first books. It has been so long that I cannot remember who Mooner and Dougie are. I also have not watched the 70's show in ages so I am not sure who Leo is. I can see Red playing Steph's dad but we would have to "Italian" him up a bit. Does Morelli have a beard?? I don't remember this. Man, I am going to have to dig those out and re-read. Somehow, in my head (which is not saying much :teeth: ), I didn't picture him with a beard. Oh well.

Good luck tomorrow on your first day. We'll be thinking about you!! :sunny: :sunny:
