You gotta be careful, the Tag Fairy does seem to have a bit of an underwear fetish.
Let's see, my daily update: not too interesting. Went to Target, I can't believe the school supplies are out in full force already. Didn't summer just start like last week? It sure feels like it. But the stuff was cheap, so I grabbed a list & got almost everything on the list. Every year there's at least one item on the list that just totally stumps me. I can look at it 9 ways to Sunday and not figure out what the heck I am supposed to buy. I suppose I could just fork over the $50 for the pre-assembled supply kit from the PTA, but I'm too darn cheap to do that. This year it was "fiber tip pens." I have no earthly idea what those might be. I guessed that it means the same as felt-tip pens? Any ideas? Also, there was no way I was plunking down $8.50 for a dry-erase eraser/marker combo set. Sorry, but the teacher will just have to make do with my $1.27 eraser and a couple extra markers that are NOT packaged together.
Anyway, I was able to buy nearly everything on the list plus my regular shopping that we actually inteded to do, and still get out of there for under $40! I think it's some sort of personal record!! I'm always telling my boss, don't bother paying me, just deposit my check directly to Target since that's where most of it goes anyway. Sigh.
Yesterday I took the girls to Crown Center here in KC, it's a big shopping center that I haven't been to yet in the nearly 5 years I've lived here. It was pretty fun, we went to an art workshop at Hallmark, toured the Hallmark museum, shopped at the Crayola store, toured a traveling science museum exhibit, and ate at the cutest little restaurant where they have a little train on a track near the ceiling that delivers your food. The kids loved that. The food was horrible, but the experience was really neat. I took about a million pictures of the girls in their little paper train engineer hats, I'll have to post one here as soon as I get around to getting them out of the camera.
Ashley: I love that we share a birthday! The only other person I ever knew with my birthday was a guy in high school. We used to tell people we were twins, because we were like 2 minutes apart. The funny part is, he was 1/2 Chinese! (and I'm not) The confused looks on people's faces cracked us up every time.
2xcited: I also had laundry planned for this weekend. Actually got a few loads done, too! I hate hate HATE doing laundry, it is such a hateful chore, but it was either that or go to work naked, so I enlisted Lyzzie's help (bribing her with Disney Dollars, of course) and got it done.

I'm ok. Really. I've finally made it to a good place, at least for right now (and sometimes that's all we've got), concerning children. Now if other things could go a little smoother that would be great.
I truly am blessed.
I'm stumped on that one too. I'd have to go with you and get the felt tipped pens. Does every student supply the teacher with markers/erasers? That's alot of markers and erasers. Of course if they're supposed to last the whole year perhaps not.
Anyway, I remember in first grade bringing in full size chocolate candy bars (instead of cupcakes) to hand out for my birthday. Well, he didn't have anything so the teacher made me let him hand out half. Now today I would willingly share what I have with anyone but in first grade I was so upset that he got to give out half of my candy bars! Oh the silly things of childhood.
I did buy about 3 blouses for myself the rest was pretty much for DS.(He looks cuter in his clothes than I do.)
Just kidding.
and dreaming of WDW. I always have this recurring dream where I sneak out of the hotel room really early. I have MK all to myself and just as the park gets crowded DH and DS find me!!
But I'm glad to hear you're in a better place. Funny story: One of our best friends is the product of a couple giving up on conception. His parents tried for years, gave up, and adopted two boys. (at different times). A couple years after adopting the second, oops! Here's Justin! I'm no expert on the subject by any means, but sometimes I think that the stress of trying to conceive can be detrimental. We've got two [different sets of] friends who got pregnant after trying everything then giving up. I guess in the end, it's in God's hands anyway.
I can however, get the bread, milk and cereal. I can do that. But everything else? I'm not exactly sure why I get it? I guess the packaging looked good on Aisle 4.
!!!! I hope you all had a great weekend... I hope things get better... seems like quite a few of you had an interesting weekend.
