I feel bad because it seems like all I do on this thread is complain! Really, I'm not like this all the time!!!

Awwww, don't worry Ashely, isn't that what we're here for? I like seeing what's going on in other people's lives... it makes me feel more normal. If you have something to complain about, go ahead & vent! Then the rest of us can relate & help you feel better. If you have good things to share, well we can enjoy those with you too!

Or we can just ramble incoherently... that's lots of fun too! :rotfl2:

I hate that I don't drive and even if I had a license I wouldn't HAVE a car to drive. :guilty: I could go to the mall and browse around or something

Ashley, too bad we don't live closer... I'd pick you up and we could do something. Oh and don't worry about complaining! That's what we're here for. To listen to each other. :grouphug:

I agree. It helps just to vent. Here's something to cheer you up (this is not mine, but I laughed when I saw it).

DznyFan... :woohoo: your daughter will be home soon!! I'm sure our kids have been spoiled by the crystal clear water from our cruises :thumbsup2 Nothing wrong with that! I did a whole 2 pages last night of my scrapbook...I'm hoping to get it finished this weekend. I'll have to post some pix. OUCH... those car repairs suck don't they! I put 5k in my Volvo last year... rebuilt transmission and oil leaks... uhhh...That's really all I've had to do to it in the 7 years and over 200k miles I've put on it:) It sounds like a good car for her though.

Nicole... :grouphug: P&PD for grandmas surgery!!!

Amber...Ohio gets tornadoes too...but it doesn't bother me at all. It seems like no matter where you live, there is something that can get you :) Tell your dh good luck w/his repairs tonight :thumbsup2

Ashley... too bad you didn't live closer..I'd pick you up and go shopping or something! If I didn't work, I'd be broke I'd be out shopping and have no money left!!!

Lyzziesmom...wow... your ex is bad. Good thing he is gone! There are some real jerks out there... but there is hope. I had left my ex in November 03 and I met DH in July 04... I am gone 12 hrs a day and ds is with me every other moment of my life. I had no idea how I would ever meet someone else. My sister asked to borrow my 4 car garage for a garage sale... so I let her...he never went to garage sales, but was looking for a hot tub and his buddy talked him into coming..and what a crazy way to meet! Normally I would have left and took ds to the zoo or something. It was just meant to be :)!! You'll find a great guy :thumbsup2 I thought they were all taken too...and he had been, but divorced too. After 20 years his ex started sleeping w/her boss!

Guess what guys..dh just called and there was a guy there trying to serve me papers!! My ex gave me a paper about a month ago wanting to take ds on vacation to the Poconos Aug.11-20th...I told him no that he couldn't. According to our papers he had to give his vacation schedule by April 31 of every year, we can not take him on vacation w/in 7 days of his school year starting...and I had already given him notice in DECEMBER that he's going to be in this wedding on Aug. 19th!!! It gets better...his new wife is an attorney...she tried to file a motion w/the judge w/o me there and the judge said no, I had to be present :rotfl: what a dumb *itch!!! She thinks she's so smart b/c she's an attorney... but I can't wait to get in front of the judge and beat her at her own game!!! That just made my weekend!!!

I love this thread!!!

Thanks so much, everybody for understanding.

lyzziesmom: I just read your response on the piercing poll... :rotfl: You don't even have your ears pierced?? That's pretty unusual these days.

Nicole: That would be so great! I wish we did live near each other. Oh, since you live in Houston: Do you like the Rockets? Thats DH's favorite basketball team...He loves Tracy McGrady!!! I like Yao. I know Texas is huge and it isnt near you, but I have an aunt that lives in Fort Worth. She really likes it there.

Amber: :teeth: That picture is so adorable!! Thanks for sharing it!!! You made me smile!!

Linda, oh your ex sounds horrible. And how annoying his wife is! Duh, doesn't she know you have to be present in court too, she is an attorney! :teacher:
Yeah, thats right, show her in court. I'm sure she'll get super embarassed. :thumbsup2

Nope, I actually did have my ears pierced when I was 10. Had them done in January, and by the time my birthday rolled around in October, they were still not healing properly, so I gave up. They closed up within 2 days. You would not believe how many earrings I have gotten as gifts from people who should know better!

Ashley- I do like the Rockets. Me and DBF have been to a few games last season. I was telling my SIL last night at the Astros game that I wished it was a Rockets game because basketball is more fast paced.

Linda- I'm sorry your ex and his wife are acting so *itchy. You show her in court!

you are not alone, and it's nice to find someone else like me! Nothing is pierced, (but I'm not a big jewelry person), I'm needlephobic, but....my secret is that I do have 2 tattoos.

Linda - boy, your ex and his wife sound like a piece of work(s) - perfect for each other?

:rotfl: I am also not fond of needles - have been known to pass out on more than one occasion during a blood test - but I have 4 tattoos! Go figure. :rotfl2:

I'm the same way. I have to get someone to drive me to the doctor, because if they bring a needle near me I pass out. However, I have a tattoo and used to have my tongue pierced. Neither of those made me pass out. :confused3

Linda, I'm so sorry you have to deal with that. Good luck in court.

DH hasn't tried to fix the electricity yet; he's waiting until tomorrow. I spent all evening arguing over my electric bill (ironic isn't it?) They are trying to charge me $400 for a month! I was able to reason with them and got it down to $200. :woohoo:

Good Night All!

I have to print out boarding passes this morning. Buddy goes to his Doggy Hotel before we leave this evening. Since we have a 7:45am flight and the airport is about 1 1/2 hous away, we are spending the night in St. Louis and doing a Park'n Fly thing with the hotel. DS and I are so excited!! :woohoo: DH just rolls with the flow.
Have a fantastic Friday everyone!!!!!

Donna....I know I'm so late and you probable aren't going to be able to read this as you are on you way to wdw :woohoo: :woohoo: but you know how whiny I was and really wanted a Kona breakfast...well I just had tears in my eyes when I saw the Kona breakfast...it was pure magic.pixiedust: pixiedust: I hope you guys have a super fun and safe vacation...can't wait to hear about it when you get home. :chat: :sunny:

YM--There is a show here in St. Louis called "Show Me St. Louis" (imagine that) that covers all aspects of the city--museums, restaurants, special occassions, etc. Well, years ago they came to my salon to cover a service that we offered and my boss wanted me to do the segment. I about freaked, as me and public speaking just do not mix, especially back then. I did the interview and got through it but came close to either fainting or puking. Luckily, I didn't do either one, but I know I came across very nervous. I felt like Cindy Brady when she got on camera and just stared at the red light.
People really don't do the beanie weenie and ramen noodle thing, do they?? Now the ironed grilled cheese I can see. :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 just kiddin'.

I am sorry you are in a funk. Sounds like you are in a "Calgon-take me away" moment. You can complain. That's what we're here for. :grouphug: :grouphug: I know the steroids have an effect on bone density but I'm not sure if a short term dosage will have that same effect. You may want to ask your dr. or even your physical therapist.
Feel better, our DIS sister. We could sing a song..................come on, sing with me now...........Greeeeeeen Acres is the place to be ---faaaaarm livin' is the life for me........
Did ya smile?? :teeth: :teeth:

:

2excitd: I'm sorry I just burst out laughing when I read this at work today...I'm like Brady Bunch, Calgon, and green acres...you just forgot...Hello, world, here the song that were singin...c'mon get happy. :rotfl:
Ok, today at the physical therapist i talked about all my achin joints(very tight today) and first all she said that the weather had changed (hmmm) and also that maybe I should see a rumatologist (sp)...eeek. Anyways I'll keep you guys posted. :headache:

I agree Ashley...this is a great thread. Nice to be able to vent without someone telling to grow up and stop your complaining etc...(it's not like we want to hear our moms :rotfl: ) Hey, have you every thought about a :moped: (just kidding...hope you get your car working soon)!

Michele: Hope you got in touch with your DH and that you have a safe and fun trip. pixiedust: Post us an update as soon as you can

Amber: Goodness...you have experienced the downside to owning a home. How old is your house. So far out of WDW trip the first week of Dec was my favorite  I'm shooting for thanksgivning of 07...and maybe working in a 4 night girls trip...anyone...anyone :cheer2:

Linda: :grouphug: just had to send a hug to you and your family...wow, I hope the new wife never gets to take your ds on a trip...get her tiger! your dh just sounds wonderful...mine is too. is it his back that gives him so much pain? i think I'm starting to pay for years of cracking joints...like I've always had loose poppy joints and now they hurt. :sad2: My DH has been in the reserves for 20...they are special! He will probably retire in the next couple of years (from the air force...he has to work his other job another 20 years :rotfl: )

DznyFan: Yay your DD is coming home. :woohoo: I guess she might deserve a little pampering this weekend.

Nicole: Who did the Atros play? Are they winning the central division this year? I used to follow the Braves but the last couple of years I've lost interest. Sending :grouphug: to you and your grandma for a full and speedy recovery.

Lizzie: I'm have to agree with 2excitd...you would enjoy the Plum novels...your sense of humor is too good NOT to enjoy them...so go get "one for the money"! Sorry, to hear about your x :sad2: I'm glad that you guys are back on you feet and have such a bright future ahead...new house and all. :cheer2: Hope you had a good evening!

Goodnight all...hope everyone has a lovely weekend. :thumbsup2

Well, it's Friday/almost Saturday-----

how's everyone?? good/bad/indifferent??

Not much going on at my end. I worked this afternoon into tonight and just got home a little while ago. Work was work. Nothing special--no crazy clients to speak of, no drama, no strange brazilian waxing stories (insert smilie with hand over mouth). Those stories will have to wait until our cliqueless meet.

Donna--I know you are starting your vacation already, spending the night in my neck of the woods (just call me Al Roker)--near Lambert airport, but I just wanted to thank you for the lovely breakfast and being so generous with your lottery winnings. I was not able to partake in the festivities this morning but I enjoyed breakfast for dinner--or late night snack and might I say it was light as air and oh so yummy. Even better that is was calorie free.
Again, have a wonderful and safe trip and know that we are thinking about you. Can't wait to hear about it when you get back. We'll miss you. :grouphug:
P.S. I wanted to add that I always listen to Sarah Brightman (complete and utterly opera--told ya I have an eclectic taste in music) when I clean--to the point that one time my mom called and I didn't have time to turn the music down and she said "oh, are you cleaning?" What gave her the first clue?? (did I just admit that I cleaned??--I meant when the little maidies clean they listen to Sarah--their cleaning music of choice)

MImom--have a good trip to Illinois. Be safe.
P & PD that you have heard from DH.
Good weekend to you and talk to you Monday.

Amber--WHAT is going on?? Sounds like a bit of trouble on the homefront. I agree, sometimes homeownership can be a pain in the booty but then I just keep thinking of the investment part of it. Whatever--tell me that when I feel like the house is falling apart around me.
You can have a partially new (used maybe 10 times) lawnmower that is sitting outside in my garage. The oil needs to be drained because I don't know what the *&^$%$ I am doing and just kept adding oil because it would not start and I thought it just needed more (and more and more) oil. :confused3 It just kept smoking and finally my neighbor came out (who NEVER talks to anyone) and says to me and I quote "Your going to kill yourself like that -that't carbon monoxide." Well, alrighty then--I turned it off, sullenly put it back in the garage and have never touched it since. That was two years ago. My cousin says the oil needs to be drained. I am not meant to cut the grass anyway because my ex used to say that I used to cut pretty patterns in the lawn. Needless to say, I hire a service now. :teeth:
Try to have a better weekend.

Linda-- :grouphug: :grouphug: Your story made me cry. Why do people have to be this way. I am so glad you got out of that relationship. You and your ds deserve so much better than that and it sounds like you have found it. Thank goodness. You are a lucky girl. But I have a feeling you know this already. Your relationship with your DH and DS is very touching.
Thank you again for your thoughts on the job situation.
Oh my goodness--just read about your ex-and his lawyer witch. How dare they. Good luck. pixiedust: pixiedust:

DznyFan--Yay, DD is coming home. I'm sure you will tend to her every wish and need. Holey moley, that is an expensive A/C problem. I'm sure she appreciates it though. Have a good weekend and try to relax, huh??

Nicole--Prayers for your grandma. Hope her surgery went well and she is feeling alright--or as good as to be expected. Keep us posted on her recovery.

Lyzziesmom--What's up with these jerky men?? No offense Pozey--I am sure you are lovely.
I am so sorry this happened to you. Linda's story does give us hope, though. If you find a good man, ask him if he has a brother and I will do the same for you. ;)
Glad you're feeling a little better today. I am sure tomorrow will even be more promising.
Oh, and BTW--poop, poop and more poop. :teeth:

Ashley--No worries--we're good at lending an ear. :listen: :listen: or two.

MnParrothead--great name. Jump in anytime. All are welcome.

WHO RAMBLES?????? Certainly not I.

DznyFan and Lyzziesmom-- Little secrets, have we?? :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 We won't ask where.
Oh, and Amber too??

YM-- :worship: :worship: Glad you enjoyed the ode to the '70's. My sister, our neighbor girl and I used to play "Charlie's Angels" down our basement. It was fixed up with groovy wood paneling, a wetbar, pool table, big couch pit--do you see it in your head?? I was always Kelly (Jaqueline Smith), my sis was Chris (what's her name ---------not Farrah----the other blonde---it'll come to me, maybe) and the neighbor girl was Sabrina (Kate Jackson). We used to cook up these scenerios and play them out to catch the "bad guys". I guess you could say this was the beginning of my Stephanie Plum days. :teeth:
"hello angels, this is Charlie"

Cheryl Ladd.

Say the word on a WDW girls trip----Pozey may want to join us--we'll let him. :thumbsup2

Oh, April, dear---where are you sweetpea?? Everything okay??

My, you guys keep my up waaay too late!!!! I have to work in the morning. I supppose Donna can't pitch breakfast out of the plane, can she??

Au Revoir :dance3: :dance3:

Cupcake :lmao: What were you doing up at this hour...! Hope you didn't have to work the early shift.

Goodmorning to all. My kiddos stayed with their aunt last night so I'm enjoying the quiet this morning. The doorbell has rang three times but I didnt' answer it (can tell when the when the kids ring it...three times followed by pound or two). However, it all coming to an end as I'm leaving now to go pick them up. :sad2: Hope everyone has a great day. :goodvibes

Feeling funky today; overdid it a little after work yesterday. Had to go to Target this morning and narrowly avoided the need for "Cleanup on Aisle 6!" Ugh. Oh well, I need to do that (overdo it I mean, not hurl in Target) once every couple of years, to remind myself that my pre-kids life wasn't really all that much fun.

Speaking of drinking... several people have commented on my signature photo of Lyzzie enjoying her Beverly. I think I will share a couple more in the series, this time of Emma:
May2006347.jpg
May2006348.jpg

Her one comment: "More!" The kid actually drank 3 cups of the stuff. :confused3

Stepped into my laundry room/pantry today and discovered the lake has returned, and has now expanded to include the majority of the kitchen as well. Turns out it's not the washing machine after all, but water is actually coming in THROUGH THE WALL. Our maintenance crew are truly idiots. It took 3 calls and a personal visit to the office to even get someone to come out & look at it before Tuesday. So he came, and tried to tell me it's the water heater. Um, no, because the water heater is about the only thing that is actually dry. Much flashlighting and butt-crack-showing later, he declared it must be the neighbor's tub. His solution? Ask the neighbor not to bathe for a few days & see if it stops. He was nice enough to toss my 6 soaked towels in the washer & run it.... sans soap. Did I mention that he had a gaping hole where a front tooth should be & kept sticking his tongue through it? I'm starting to get more & more excited about moving, quickly losing the ambivalent feeling.

2xcited... your posts always crack me up girlfriend!!

I wonder where in the World Donna is right now? And now? How about...... now?? I hope she's bringing back a Mickey waffle for me.

That reminds me... I should probably put on my snorkel and rustle up something to feed my children.
