Good morning, crew!

Donna that looks wonderful! yummmmm.....

YM - the cake was done at Reasors. It is one of the photo cakes. I tweaked the photo in photoshop some before I printed it and took it in. they scan the photo and print it on an edible material.
Isn't the CP just amazing? I just love it! Who was your narrator? I can't recall all whom we've seen do it, but we've seen Heather Headley, Robert Urich and Jim Caviezel. We were supposed to see Gary Sinise 2 winters ago, but he cancelled. That's who I'd really like to see.

Pozey - did I notice something new about your signature????? :teeth: I'm one of the ones at work today. woo. hoo. Maybe they'll let us cut out of here a couple hours early.

:wave2: Hi, everybody!!

Hey DznyFan...I think I will try one of those photo cakes...that was very cool. I had no idea that Reasors did those!

Oh my goodness the CP was so amazing. DH almost didn't go because DS wanted to ride Soarin and they didn't have any fastpasses available. I hadn't told him much about it so I think it was kind of a surprise for him. He's actually more of a music person than I am...he played in his high school marching band. I told him we could try Soarin again after the show...I really wanted him to go. He loved, loved, loved it. Our narrator was Edward James Olmos. That part I wasn't sure about because I had no clue who he was? Kirk Cameron was there while we were there and so was Gary Senise (that's who Linda saw). He did a wonderful job...he was very emotional and gave a special tribute to the military which was nice for DH. There was someone special from the military there that night but I can't remember who. He absolutely seemed honored to be there at the reading. Anywho...I've rambled plenty....but it was wonderful! I'm mean wow...to the orchestra and chorus!lol Isn't it funny when something catches you off guard...:goodvibes

Donna...thanks for breakfast.:thumbsup2 I think 'Ohana has a character breakfast that is served family style. It's Lilo, Stitch and I think Mickey. Sound like fun. If you just happened to be staying at the Poly someday...you could test it out.;) :rolleyes1

Good morning Pozey...still smiling today?:goodvibes

wasn't he awesome!!! Omg I wish we could have stayed longer...we had to cut out a few minutes early b/c Mike forgot his pills and was afraid if we waited until everyone was leaving, it would take forever to get back to the room...which was true anyway..I think he was just spent. It was way too much walking for him. Then the 26th I was wanting to go to MK and catch up w/you guys and Mike didn't even want to go to any parks at all...but Kenny really wanted to go to AK...so we went there and Mike took it easy. Kenny and I ran all over and had fun. He even went to the car for awhile:guilty: I felt bad..but I had to have a little more fun b4 heading to the airport:rolleyes1 I'm so glad we got to see you guys! definitely not long enough! Of coarse, Kenny wasted no time talking your leg off:rotfl:
You can NEVER take too many pictures!!

that is so true!:cloud9:

Linda and Lin - I can just imagine Gary Sinise was awesome! We (Erin & I) are big fans and were really looking forward to seeing him. Jim Caviezel, whom we saw on Christmas Eve 2 years ago, played Jesus in The Passion of The Christ - it was quite appropriate, IMO. He did a WONDERFUL job as narrator. One day, though, we'll see Gary do it.

Linda - Mike sounds a little like my DH. He loves to go to WDW but doesn't like the parks as much as Erin and I do. On top of that, the standing (not walking, just standing) gets to his back really bad, so he can't do lines/queues if there's any wait at all. He gets pretty cranky. But if we go without him and he doesn't have other plans (i.e.: golf) he pouts. We are expected to stay in and be miserable with him. Not saying Mike does that - just that whole "spent" kind of thing happening.

Lin - I was having the same problem just before it went down. All the posts from this morning were gone! Now they're back, though.

Man.....there is NOBODY here except for us IT folks!!

One of the other guys just said he was taking a walk around the rest of the building to see if anyone else is here.

I'm ready to leave!!

Has anyone discussed their plans for tonight??

Anybody doing anything fun that I can live vicariously through?

I have a friend :) who is in Phoenix and will be having fun tonight. Hopefully I will get some updates later on about how much fun they are having!!

darn computer...lets try this for the 3rd time!

I bet Jim C. was awesome! Gary was incredible. He brought tears to my eyes. The whole performance was incredible, then at the end he was saying to think of the troops and everyone stood and cheered...the tears were instant. He is such a great guy! I heard so many wonderful comments about him as well.
Yeah, I know what you mean w/our dh's too. Mike wants to be w/us, which is totally understandable and he doesn't want to sit by the pool, definitely can't play golf or anything...so he comes to the parks to be with us. Yes, any standing or walking just kills him. He takes a LOT more pain meds than he normally would. He ends up sitting on benches and talking to people and friendly CM's most of the time. He doesn't ride much at all. Nothing jerky, bumpy etc.... so really, he doesn't get to do much except watch us have fun:rolleyes1 I'm surprised he said we should do it again in 08! But for around 9 days

That is great that Mike does that!

I have no idea:rolleyes1 probably just sit and watch some movies:happytv:

That is probably what I will do. Except I don't think I have any movies that I haven't seen.

I will probably be on the DIS....

yes, it really is. He really enjoyed having our DIS friends to talk to as well! We truly had more fun on the days we got to meet up w/you guys!!

I think Mike grabbed some at the library today, and I think I'll take Kenny to see Alvin and the Chipmunks tomorrow. We saw National Treasure over the weekend:banana: it was awesome!

DIS...great idea! probably upload more pics to photobucket:laughing: that could take all night, easily!

It sucks for them when they have to sit around. DH rides and his back doesn't bother him, only standing. but oh he gets grouchy when he's been standing and starts to hurt!

Oh my goodness.... I am SO disappointed!!! We've been juggling several variables for our trip in May - TA discount on the cruise and the dates it applies; the date school tentatively gets out, which may change given the winter we've had; AP expiration; AA Advantage award seat availability. Basically, we've gotten nothing done except for booking the room and hoping that we didn't have to move the res due to school. We're looking at one week, including the 3 night cruise.

I got to looking at AA's website again today, and more award seats had become available, but wouldn't necessarily work for the dates we needed them for. then I got this wild idea..... what if there were three seats available????

Well, there were. but oh the sacrifices we'd have to make... almost more than one could endure... We'd have to fly out on a Thursday afternoon, and wouldn't be able to come home until the following following Tuesday! We'd have to stay seven nights at WDW, take the three night cruise, then stay another 2 nights!! And not have to pay for airline tickets!

(just kiddin'.... OF COURSE I'd stay almost 2 weeks! Now only if my boss will give me that much time off at once.... fingers crossed cuz we're putting the seats on hold tonight...)

Shannon - welcome back! I really can't wait to hear about Ashley's trip! How was yours? Tell me about the keys - we're thinking about making a trip to Largo for diving next winter.

thanks!

the Keys were AWESOME! the winter is the best time to go. the last time we went it was in July and we were miserably hot. we stayed at the Key Lime Inn in Key West.(our second time staying there) its just 2 blocks off Duval. it really wasnt crowded! We visited Hemingways house and various museums, and of course the shops, southernmost point etc. we didnt have time for the beach, unfortunately.

when I was growing up we used to camp in Key Largo all the time. I love to snorkle and its pretty there. Pennecamp has lots of places to dive I think. it is about 3 hours to Key West from Ft Lauderdale with no traffic, 4 or more with bad, since there is only one highway. such a pretty drive once you are on the overseas highway/US 1. DH says we might have a new winter destination. I reminded him we havent been to WDW for Christmas in 2 years! we will have to see!

Happy New Year everyone!party: DH worksuntil 9 and then we are going to friends to watch the ball drop. I hope everyone stays safe tonight! :grouphug:
ps
Ash is finally home. we had lots of fun with her extended stay. i didnt read any posts today to see if she checked in yet..she might still be napping!
