Morning, crew!
Great breakfast as always, Donna - thanks!! Did Nathan get some time in the snow yesterday?
Lin - THANK YOU for thinking of me!! I should have logged on last night, I really needed that place!
Lyzziesmom - I'm so sorry for your night. I hate those "nothing goes right" days (or nights). I was in the same boat as you, we could've gotten together at the Gurgling Suitcase with the wine Lin provided. Your mom better find that soon!!! Hoping for a better day today.
Pozey - no.. your "offically" back in.
So yesterday I had sent in some prints and enlargements to be processed at Wal Mart for pickup last night. I sent the order in and paid for it at 9:00 yesterday morning. The prints I HAD to have before today. they were for something with a deadline and it slipped my mind last week what with all the distractions and all. I had a meeting last night from 6:30 to about 8:30 or 9:00, so I planned on picking them up on my way to the meeting. My phone rings at 6:00 when I'm in the car, getting ready to go pick them up - it's the photo lab. Their print machine is down and they won't have them ready until tomorrow hopefully. (now today)
I have a meeting so I can't go back home and re-upload them to the other wal mart, plus they're already paid for, yada yada yada. They tell me they can't upload them to the other Wal Mart (bull pucky, IMO, but whatever). Sorry there's nothing they can do. These prints are for the Senior Salute in our yearbook (Pozey will know) and it's due TODAY, at the OUCH price of $225 for a half-page. I was on the phone with them up until the minute I walked up to the photo counter in person. They did burn them on a disc for me and called the other Wal Mart to let them know I'm coming.
I go to the other Wal Mart (I've now called in late to my meeting), and it was a ZOO. After waiting, the guy at the counter says they never called him and he doesn't know anything about it. Then he tells me I need to take the CD to the kisok and upload them. WHAT????? He swears they don't have the capability to do it behind the counter. After the other Wal Mart called me at 6 pm on an order that was placed at 9 am??? Nope, he says, got to do it myself. (bullpucky.) FINE. So, off to the kiosk I go. I spent no less than 10 minutes trying to get the stupid thing to read the disc, and it won't. Wal Mart guy comes over a couple different times... 'duh, i don't know it's being slow. sometimes it does that' I'm now half an hour late. So, I go to the other kiosk, where I wait very patiently behind a woman who has been at it for about 15 minutes already picking photo Christmas cards from her gazillion photos, then goes through every single background, then through the photos again, changes photos another dozen times........... then, after about 15 minutes of standing there waiting for her, she runs up her total of cards to order to something like 150, then........ CANCELS THE ORDER.
I get my prints up on the screen, order my prints and enlargements (and some Christmas cards, too!!) and off I go to my meeting, a full hour late.
Then......... my sister calls. Can we get family photos, since ALL of us are in town? (that never happens) There's 9 of us to coordinate times, clothing, and schedules, plus photographer's schedule. So I call Derek, nope, he's going out of town on Saturday at oh-dark-thirty. About 10:00 the photographer that he shares jobs and studio with calls me and he can't shoot on Sunday (the ONLY day we can get everyone together for sure) but can on Saturday. And we have this WEE little window of time that we can all get together. So now I have to get back with her so she can coordinate with her kids and hope she doesn't complain too much about the price (which is REALLY good, BTW)... AAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!
I am normally such a patient individual.
