Who here is not in the "clique" like me?

I've been having internet connectivity problems... just got caught up on today's posts. The service tech is scheduled to come out on Tuesday evening, they seem to think it's a problem with my splitter. Didn't know I had one, but ok... as long as it's not my computer I'm a-ok. Darn thing isn't even a year old yet, it's not allowed to slack off just when I find a non-clique to make my DIS addiction really take hold!

Taking DD to see POTC2 tomorrow morning, I'm not sure which of us is looking forward to it more. I won a movie theater gift card from a silly contest we had at work last week and I was so excited I actually jumped out of my chair and yelled "Woohoo I won!!"

I'm such a dork.

We cooked ribs today - practice for an upcoming BBQ competition. DH has a team. Not too bad today. Of course, ribs are his "thing" we always do really well in that category.

OK - I need ideas! We have an "anything butt" category to compete in next Friday, and we have to have an entertaining presentation to go along with our competition food item. I'm making chocolate creme brulee, and I'm thinking about having my musical theatre daughter re-write a well-known musical song to sing at the presentation. Song and dance routine - about creme brulee. Any other ideas on what might constitute an entertaining skit/presentation? Be creative - we'll incorporate a 'theme' with the actual presentation (the food) plus the physical (skit or whatever) presentation. It's too bad they don't have mickey-shaped custard cups to cook it in - that'd be easy.

Last time we competed with this dish, she did a hula (yes, she really hulas) and the cups and tray were decorated with orchids, tropical greenery and topped with little chocolate pigs (BBQ = pigs). Didn't win with it but lots of judges came by and raved about the brulee - guess the presentation just wasn't entertaining enough.

Off to see POTC2 tomorrow - yea!! DD and I having deep philosophical (ha ha) discussion about who's cuter - Johnny or Orlando. (Orlando). I love having a daughter!

Lucas - way to go on getting the tag! Just when you make one of your own, tag, you're it!

Hey DznyFan where is it that you are having all this fun? I'm so not creatvie so I don't have any ideas for you but I will come sample your BBQ.

I'm so impressed there are 3 "cliqueless" from OK...anymore? I bet we are scattered about the state. I'm in the Tulsa metro area!

Hi guys and girls,

Just got back spending the evening with Mr. Depp--oh, I wish that were literal. He is MY man He made me laugh at his one-liners, as usual. I just love him!!!!! Vanessa is one lucky girl.

I hope to see me niece and two nephews at some point tomorrow or Monday. They are 7, 5, and 5 mo. respectively. They just spent the last three weeks in Florida so I have not seen them, obviously. They have only lived in St. Louis (my area) for two years and we now found out that they have to move back to Florida immediately for my BIL's job. We are crushed. The other day I was speaking to my sister on the phone and my niece (7yrs.) grabs the phone and says in her best niece voice "can't wait to see ya" and hands the phone back to my sis. I just wanted to cry on the spot but I am trying to be so supportive of her because I know she does not want to make this move. It is hard because she is my only sibling and we are only 13 months apart so she is literally one of my best friends. Needless to say I will be visiting S. Florida ALOT.

Everyone have a good night. My eyes are getting sleepy. I'll be dreamin' of my pirate. Gotta love those bad boys.

Sorry to hear your sister has to move. I actaully back up to my sister (devided by a greenbelt). We have boys that were born 4 days apart. The bad part it actually has caused some hardship...but overall we do well.

How long have you been in the St Louis area. We used to visit St Louis for vacations...my cousins lived there.

Hey everybody!!

Thanks for the well wishes regarding Ruby. She has been fine all day! She is doing very well, acting spoiled as usual and begging for people food.

I wanted to go and do all these things today, (including going to see Pirates) but DH and I just ended up lounging around! We actually took a nap from about 4:30-7 pm!!! I don't think it will be an early night for either of us, we aren't used to napping like that!

I hope everybody enjoys their Sunday!!

I was away this past week, and apparently missed all the scuttlebutt. I am not in a clique either. I just have made some really, really good friends here on the boards, and some of them have posted to a thread or two of mine, and I to theirs. Infact, MI Mom of 3, you just did last night. Thank you!
Anyway, I think that is how it seems to work here, like in life. Like minded people gravitate towards one another...and it takes time to get noticed, I think. I had like a 100 posts or more, before anyone actually said hello, I believe....
