My grandma is very ill and we were told today that there is nothing they can do. My dad is still at the hospital, so I am just waiting for "the" call, but of course, have no idea how long. My aunt who lives in Florida flew in tonight but my sister is torn on what she should do-----come now or wait until funeral arrangements. I pretty much said my goodbyes today, unless there is a miracle. She has been through so much the last couple of years.

thank you all sooooo much for your thoughts and prayers once again. It seems that you all are doing alot of that for me lately. I feel bad, but it is so greatly appreciated.

As of this morning, she is in intensive care and that is all I know. It is a waiting game. It's hard, but I know that I am so lucky to say at my age that I have known all of my grandparents well into adulthood and that is rare. I am blessed.

Lyzziesmom----I laughed at Emma's version of the Nativity play. What a cutie.
When my sister and I were little, we used to play with the Nativity scene under the tree. We played with them as if they were Barbie dolls. We used to fight over Gloria. Who is that, you may ask???? Why, she's the angel with the white sash with her name on it-------Gloria, of course.

Lyzziesmom, I didn't even bother with my big tree this year. I put up a small prelit tabletop tree. I can still see my Disney ornaments, but it took all of five minutes to set up.

Linda, I am so jealous. You are so lucky (that goes for YM and Lin).

It snowed here yesterday (just a couple inches). Why can't people drive when it snows? There were accidents everywhere. It took my mom and stepdad over an hour to get home (and usually the drive is 15 minutes). Today, it's icy and I think they are calling for a little more snow tomorrow.

My stepmother emailed me yesterday and says she will be ordering our furniture this weekend. I have no idea what I am going to end up with. She said the crib I picked was sold out, but when I looked it wasn't. They do have the set in other colors and I'm not tied to a specific one. Then, she said she wanted to ship them to the store, but the crib can only be shipped to my house (she says different). So, I am waiting to see what I get. I am very thankful they are buying it, but it's stressing me out.

Yes, you've been very blessed. I've only lost my grandma, hard to believe its been 5 years! But I was closer to her than anyone else in the world and it is hard You'll definitely be in my prayers!

The sun is out so that makes the cold more bearable. We got quite a bit of snow the other day, but to my children's disappointment our city is usually right on top of the salt and plowing. I think they did our street 3xs in one day. I hope Nathan is feeling better!

My girls love to play with Nativity sets too. My mom sort of collects them, not actively but she has about 7 or 8 and the pieces are always migrating around the house. One will have nothing but animals, and another one might have several baby Jesuses. Jesii? (Oh and I knew right away who Gloria was!)

YM: That Christmas play sounds very cute, can't wait to see the pics of your little greaser!

My mom is at Home Depot buying caulk weatherstripping stuff for my house. Emma peeled all the caulk off around the window next to her bed and the cold air just pours in - and of course she won't sleep with covers on. Brrrr! I had to dig through my trunk this morning to find my scraper - it was under all the Christmas presents! The DIS has been really slow for me too since yesterday, it's driving me nuts.

Bummer w/the tree!! I think I would have gave up and came back to it another night sometimes it's not worth the aggrevation

Yeah... I already did the "I'll come back this later" for the last couple weeks! I know you'll figure out a way to have your tree at WDW, you're a smart cookie. Maybe you could ship it down? I can hop in the box too.Just over a week to go, girlie -- can you believe it??!

Amber: We have a small tabletop tree too, but it doesn't even have lights. It's very cute, it came with tiny wooden ornaments and Lyzzie loves decorating. She could care less about helping with the big one, but Emma can't wait to get her paws on it and start decorating away! Good luck with the furniture, and try not to worry about it. You have enough things to worry about, just let your MIL take care of it for you. I'm one of those who gets very nervous driving in the snow. I have yet to have an accident (knock on my wooden head!) but it freaks me out. Remember, I'm from the south! My first winter here I kept asking everyone for tips on snow driving, and everyone just said, "go slow." One thing I didn't know is that you have to scrape off the top of the car - I was leaving Target one day and when I came to the light going onto the main road, it turned red and I stopped rather quickly. A solid 4" slab of ice slid off my car's roof and onto the hood, scaring the crap out of me! I jumped out and started running around the car, trying to pull this giant slab of ice off the hood and it just kept breaking and I was so nervous. I probably looked pretty hilarious!

And apparently he was right. This is exactly why the media shouldn't make a big deal out of these kinds of things. It makes me so mad when they sensationalize senseless acts of violence; there are always going to be freaks who find that kind of thing intriguing and get ideas from it.

I think they did the same thing when the shootings at Virginia Tech happened and they were posting all those disgusting pics of him with the guns etc.

Linda, so you leave next Friday? I am JEALOUS!!!!!!! You are going to have such a great time. I wonder how the weather will be? I've been to Disney at Christmas where it was coooooold (well atleast to me, I did live in South Florida at the time) and other times it wouldn't be at all. I guess we will just have to check the weather channel!!

Ashley: I was just talking to my mom yesterday about how funny FL weather is. When we lived there, I remember going to WDW in October one year and it was FREEZING! I was wearing a white turtleneck sweatshirt and a leather jacket and gloves, and it was SOOO cold. I mean, it was down to like 62!

Now that I don't live in FL, if I go to WDW and it's 62, that feels GREAT! On our cliqueless trip last Feb. I was laughing at all the CMs who were lined up on Main Street in the morning wearing their knee-length wool coats, gloves, earmuffs, scarves and hats. I mean, it was only 55, it was barely even chilly! You probably remember I did have to buy a long-sleeved shirt and we all had our Micken sweaters, but that was plenty warm for the mornings and evenings, and it was so nice in the middle of the day.

It's just so weird having lived on both sides of the equation. When you're used to 80-90, then 50-60 is darn cold. When you're used to digging yourself out of an icy snowbank, then 50-60 is gorgeous!


I haven't been posting as much because a) my life is boring and b) I've discovered sudoku online and I suck at it. I'm determined to finish one in less than 15 minutes!

Yes, I am so excited!!! I have to take some Ambien tonight gotta get SOME sleep!!! I plan on packing for both summer and winter just in case! Looked like averages are 55-75..so that shouldn't be too bad. I admit, I'm a wimp and freeze all the time, so I'll pack mostly jeans and pull overs...I guess about the same as when we went in Feb some under armour for both cold and warm...that should do! blankets, gloves and all that in case its freezing for the parades late at night!! Guess I better weigh those bags before we leave I'm sure I'll ship some stuff home too.

I know what you mean! This morning at work my manager told me to go make the deposit. While I was walking to my car, a man broke some stuff that was on a kiosk, it was a place that sold snow or something like that. I heard a crash and turned around. I thought maybe something just fell, I hadn't seen the man yet. Then from the other side of the kiosk he broke some other stuff! I heard a man yell and went to the other side to see what was going on. A man held him back so he couldn't break anymore stuff. I think he might have had a mental disorder, because he kept on saying "muah, muah, muah.

Lesa- Haven't you done both the CP and worked at WDW as a non CPer? I thought I remember you saying that. And Michele too?

Ugh, my eye keeps on twitching!!! It's been like this all day and is driving me crazy!

No I wasn't on the CP. I worked in the marketplace. I mostly worked at the character shop and once and a while I worked at Team Mickey. It's kind of sad when I go back because neither one is there anymore. My DH worked in France and a few other places in Epcot. I worked with a lot of people on the CP though and they loved it. No Michele never worked at WDW only TDS.


Sorry about your twitch. That can be annoying! I sometimes get one just under my ribs, it about drives me nuts!


Another frustrating day with school. The school had 60 days from the time I signed the request for formal testing. Now I find out the form they had me sign was only for a screening. Now it's another 60 days from the time I sign the correct form, plus they keep telling me that there is other intervention they have to try before they will/can test her. So right there without all this middle crap is 120 days out of the year that still nothing will have been done. Then I was on hold for over an hour trying to talk to someone in the ISBE (IL state board of Ed) only to find out the person thought I was looking to talk to someone about getting my teaching cert. I didn't have anymore time to hold so I had to leave a message. Then I called and literally begged the speech therapy place to try to get Maddie in for the testing. She said she may have a therapist that can squeeze Maddie in towards the end of next week, she will let me know for certain on Monday. That is the only promising thing that came out of today.
