I love the cinderella in your signature! How did you get that? I feel the need to spice up mine, lol.

My my how we've grown since I joined on pg. 5!! Glad to see all of you. I'm cliqueless at work (only two of us) and cliqueless in family (very small). I've been told my whole life that I'm a follower, not a leader. And I guess it is true. Anyone else feel that way?

I am very much a follower and anything out of that comfort zone makes me want to throw up...or at least cower in the corner.

Hi Kathy,

That's my grandma's name, I love it. I'm actually going to give 1 of my future kids the name Kathleen as their middle name. :)

I've also been told that I'm a follower..I like it that way. That way, the leader can get into trouble if we do something wrong. When I was younger, I used to get a "bright idea" and tell the "leader", then they always were the ones who got into trouble, lol.

Haha, you're talking to the computer illiterate and I am racking my brain to try to remember how I did it.

I do remember it took me a whole Sunday afternoon, though. Does this help?? :rotfl2:

Let me go back and retrace my steps and I'll PM you.

P.S. Anyone else's connection r-e-a-l-l-y-----s-l-o-o-o-w this AM ???????
Or is this my punishment for having dial-up?? Yep, you heard me..............just call me Wilma Flinstone.

It's funny as I am reading to catch up with this thread (wow, btw), I am laughing to myself because I can relate to so many of you. I, too, am the quiet one who sits back and takes it all in, sometimes being perceived as a bit......well, you know, and I am not that girl puppy at all (well, most of the time--come on, admit it--we can all be at times, right?? :teeth: ).

Moving on, I am also the one who, once I get to know people, really open up. Some people get my extremely dry sense of humor, some don't. Oh well, I still crack myself up sometimes. :lmao:

Yep!!! I SOOOO relate to all you guys! Why does it have to be that when you're quiet, others perceive you to be a snob or worse?? I've never understood it nor appreciated it. Once I'm comfortable, I can really warm up, but also share a dry and sometimes warped sense of humor - I guess it borders on sarcasm some times. But, I'm surrounded by it, my whole family (DH, stepson, daughter) I swear sometimes those kids compete to see who can out-smart*** the other! Thank God the stepson is out of the house, it's not so bad.... until he meets us for vacations!

DznyFan, I am the same way!!! People have always called me "snobby" (or worse) because it takes me a while to open up. I am really sarcastic, too, so that doesn't really help.

I guess none of us would be good at 50's Primetime Cafe!!! (I am personally terrified at that place.) I am so shy, my DH told me he is forcing me to buy pins this trip and trade them so I will talk to people more.

I will never understand gossiping in a family - I worked with this young woman once, she would get on the phone with a family member and diss everyone - then call another and put down the one before, even those they were close to.....it really shocked me to see that family members could act this way (not to mention the disrespectful fights she would have with her mom - she said things I would never say to someone I loved and was supposed to respect)...guess I am bit of a polyanna.....

I also have a sarcastic sense of humor....somtimes people take it wrong....but, again, when people really now me they get it....

For the most part, I am more of an observer. I usually just sit back and observe.

I am generally pretty laid back and quiet. I tend to have to get to know people and their likes and dislikes before I unleash my "real" personality on them.

Then, they realize how fun I really am. But I save my real personality for only the best. That's why I am here.

Wow...I just made it to the end of this thread. :Pinkbounc I can't believe I missed it last night...I've been waiting to be "apart" of a "cliqueless" thread. I usually get ignored and only accidently posted on a clique thread once (thought it was a game).

pozey...have you ever heard the saying "if you really really knew me...you'd really really like me"? I only work part-time but some of my work "friends" thought I didn't like them at first...which was simple not true. I'm reserved but then when they get to know me they realize I'm a bit of "goof" (my words) :rotfl:

Also, I like to DIS at night (10-12pm) and any other time I can get on but usually not a work...see you guys tonight if that's ok. :yay:

Hi hellokitty86,
If 2xcited2slp doesn't mind, I can give you a quick how to on your siggie. :teeth:

Just got back from the grocery store and wanted to stop in and say hi!

Me, I'm my own worst enemy. I'm a very out going, fun loving person but my self esteem isn't the greatest and it really holds me back.
Danged self esteem!
And then I've been friends with people who I put much trust in and believed they'd always be there and in the end they dissed me (some when I needed them the most) which really helped the self esteem! :faint:

Anyway, I'm glad to be participating in the group. :goodvibes

ForTheLoveofDisney,

Thanks!! I can use all the help I can get!! I don't want to "copy" her, but I think hers is really cute =) Are you good with things like that?

I'm so glad you joined the group!!! :goodvibes

By the way, I love your user name! I want another one, but now that I have my new tag- NO WAY am I changing it :teeth:

I am really shy in person, but I have no problem speaking to clients at work.

My DH can speak to anyone, anywhere. He's a salesman, so I guess that helps. I am not one for starting up a conversation in line somewhere, but DH can talk and talk (his whole family is like that).

I really want to trade pins this trip, but I am nervous. I don't want to annoy or intrude.

Amber,

I feel the same way! What if they don't want to trade that pin? What if I don't want to trade a certain pin? Maybe I should just trade with CM's.

BTW, I love your dogs. I don't know if you can tell, but I love Pugs. :sunny:

Reading your posts is so interesting! :goodvibes I have kind of a split personality. I often come across very quiet and reserved, but it depends on how I feel about myself at that moment. I have a bit of a social anxiety problem, so I have a hard time getting past the acquaintance stage with people into the friends stage. On the other hand, I used to do some professional acting (mostly stage), and I can be quite silly if I'm in the right mood. People who think they have me pegged eventually always say, "I didn't expect that out of you." :teeth:

FortheLoveofDisney,

Nope, don't mind attall.

And, I know exactly how you feel. That self esteem gets me every time. I have learned a couple of life long lessons and my esteem has gotten much better. That, or I now take the attitude that I really don't care anymore what people think. Easier said than done sometimes though, I know.

YourMajesty,

:worship: :worship:

Here's to ya, my friend.....don't know why I feel the need when I see your name. :teeth: I like.

Yes, I will try to stop by later this evening. I must go to work now but usually check in late. Although, tomorrow I am working at 7am. yucko. I work a very crazy schedule. Late one day, early the next. No wonder I am always soooo tired. :sad2:

Everyone have a wonderful Thursday. (Thursday, right??) Talk at ya later. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Shamrock30,

Wow! I just can't stop replying to everybody!

I am the same way! I definitely feel like I have an social anxiety problem. I'm not sure what happened- I think it has to do with me moving to a place where I don't know anybody, and I am alone alot. I barely ever leave the house so when I do, I often feel overwhelmed. I also gained some weight (about 30 pounds) since I've moved (probably due to never leaving the house) and that affects my self-esteem. My husband has been really wonderful, but sometimes its hard to understand the situation!!

I get that too, when I open up, people say "WOW! Where did that come from?"

Thanks for posting. I would love for you to join this thread reguarly! (I'm acting like I started this thread! I didn't! Thanks again, Telly!)

By the way, I love your user name! I want another one, but now that I have my new tag- NO WAY am I changing it :teeth:
Thanks! I used to have another username. I was researching DVC and I found the DVC boards back in 2001. I quickly made up a username on the fly so that I could ask questions never imagining I'd be here this long. :rotfl:
Then, I changed it. I feel like everything I do is For my love of Disney. I budget for Disney, I make purchases and think can I use this for a Disney trip? I talk Disney with whoever will listen. Hence the name.

I'm pretty good with some computer stuff. I used to work at a newspaper in SC as a amateur graphic artist so I learned alot there with the ads and putting the paper together. Everything I've learned through trial and error.

When you find a clip art you like, whether here or through googling clipart, you right click on the clip art. You go down to where it says properties and you click there. Where it says Address: You highlight it and copy it (highlight the address of http:// etc. etc.com/). For instance, when I right click on 2xcited2slp's cinderella the address is: http://lnx.ginevra2000.it/Disney/animatedgif/disney-gifs-cendrillon-creation13.gif
Then you go to User Cp and click on Edit Signature which is on the left.
A blank screen will open up and it looks like the screen when you make a post.
Click on the little icon that is a yellow square and it looks like it has 2 mountains in it (it's right next to the earth with the chainlink) and paste the address into that bar and click ok.
If you want to center the image just highlight [lmg]http://etc.etc.com/[/lmg] and click on the Align center option. It's up where you can make things bold or underlined and stuff.
If you wanted it centered it would look like [centar][lmg]http://etc.etc.com/[/img][/center]
To make sure it looks ok click preview signature. If it looks ok click save changes.
And that's it. Hope this was clear and helpful. If you need anymore help just let me know. Or if something wasn't clear, I'd be glad to walk you through it.

ETA: I had to change some of the letters in the brackets [] so that you could see what I was talking about. Leaving them the way they really look was giving big red Xs because it thought I was really trying to post an image. :teeth:

That's the same way I feel about pin trading. I hate rejection and don't want to sit their feeling dumb because no one wants the pins I have. I am planning on starting with CM's (they HAVE to take my pin if they don't already have the same one). Hopefully, I will get more comfortable and can approach others then.

Your pug is so cute! How big is she? Leary is 17lbs and my mom's (Leary's sister) is only 14lbs. Most that I see around here are pushing 30lbs.

I wanted one forever (I've had boxers all my life) and was finally able to get Leary four years ago. He is the BEST (but so, so weird. He is just like Stitch).

Go Pugs!! pug:

Amber,

Oh, how I LOVE pugs. When DH and I first started dating, I used to make him take me to Barnes & Noble and buy me pug calendars and pug books. When we got married in December 2005, we decided we wanted a dog. I told him I'd be open minded, but of course I had "pug" on the brain!! We were in Florida (Where I'm from, we were visting for Christmas) and I found Ruby! She was so adorable and little, I just fell in love. My DH was resistant because of the price (which I am too embarassed to say at this moment!!). I was talking to the lady that owned her, and I asked for her birthday and she looked up the file and said, "Oh, its October 8!" Well that was a done deal for me, thats my birthday too!! She is young, but I have to admit she is a little spoiled and chubby! She is probably about 18 pounds  But she is pretty little. When I got her, the lady said she was going to be a little pug. When we go for the pug meets, she is always the smallest one there!
