Good morning, everyone!!

I think I'm about to flip here!!! I just checked out Disneyworld.com and it's showing a rate of $254 for the Poly for our time frame. (7/07 to 8/03) I am paying $221/night for the WL. WOW!!! Should I check into this?? Gary and Nathan were really looking forward to the WL, but to be on the monarail circuit would be great!!!

I may have to run this by my "Disney Vacation Planner in Training"!! (Nathan)

I'll be thinking about this all day long!!!

Any opinions???

Absolutely go with the POLY!! Of course that is my dream hotel so I may be a bit biased It would be great to be right on the monorail and it has always seemed to me to be the most romantic of the resorts.

DznyFan has every right to be proud. Erin was the perfect Disney Store employee. Very professional. And she is every bit as beautiful in person as she is in the pictures that DznyFan has shown us.

I think we are pretty lucky as The Disney Store here in Tulsa always seems to hire great people. I see and hear employees walking around the store singing to the Disney music that is playing. It always seems to be that the employees enjoy working there, and that it isn’t “just a job”.

It's funny that you mention the singing...when I worked at TDS I was always walking around singing and wouldn't even realize it until someone said something about it. Which wasn't a good thing the way I sing

Lesa---poor Maddie!!! I didn't realize with all of your trips that this was her first flight. Did she do okay on the way back??
I wanted to do the Wishes Cruise last October, but we opted for MNSSHP instead. So, needless to say I still want to do the Wishes Cruise. I'm glad you thought it was worth it.

Well, thanks to Miss Linda and all of her talk about the Poly, guess what I did last weekend??
Yep, I am going the first weekend in November.
I was talking to my mom about Linda, Mike and Kenny's Christmas trip at the Poly and we started reminiscing about when my sister and I were kids and how we always stayed at the Poly (CR only a couple of times), and we both said at the same time-----maybe we should just sneak down there for a few days. Well, you know what happens when that is said--------the research begins. It will just be my mom and myself-----in fact, she hasn't even told my dad yet. uh-oh.
We are going to do the Keys to the Kingdom tour and I was able to get all the ADR's that we wanted-----'Ohana, LeCellier, Narcoosee's and we are going to try Morocco for the first time.


I do have a question for all you AP experts---------We are doing the dining plan, but if I want to upgrade to AP tickets, how does that work for this trip and for future trips??

I am so excited for you!! I did the Keys to the Kingdom tour years ago and had the best time. I loved learning all the behind the scenes stuff. You guys know about me and trivia

Lin, I HAVE to see the Little Mermaid!!!! It was my favorite movie when I was a little girl... That would be so awesome. I've always wanted to go to NYC, so Jeremiah said we can try to go sometime next year. They have shows until next Aug!

I know! Chris is bound and determined to get to Yankee Stadium next year before they tear it down to build the new one. So, I made him promise to take me to Mary Poppins and Little Mermaid if we are going to see the Yankees play. I best start saving for tickets now, they are pretty pricey for good seats!

I'm in the middle of painting Maddie's room and decided it was time for a break. She decided she wanted a Tinkerbell room after going to Home Depot looking for pink and discovered the Disney paint section. They had a sample book of Tinkerbell and decided that is what she had to have. All I have to say is WOW! The Tinkerbell Green is bright and the purple is deep. It's not looking too awful on the wall, but we'll see how it looks when it is all done.

Lin - the pictures are great! the cruise looks like you had so much fun! I'd really like to see The Little Mermaid, and hopefully we'll be able to sometime. Tarzan is already closing, and I have to say I'm not surprised. The only cast member I'm familiar with in Mermaid is the woman who is playing Ursula. She was the female lead in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels original cast.

Ashley - you've got to get up to NYC. Mary Poppins is just incredible, and I'm sure Mermaid will be too!

Thanks for the advice on the Poly!! I typoed this morning and meant to post that our stay was from 7-31 to 8-3. I'm afraid a split stay would drive Gary crazy, since we'll be moving from Universal RPH on July 31st. Nathan wants to stay at The Wilderness Lodge and since it's his vacation,too, I guess I'll probably keep things the way they are. I guess I made too big of a deal over the bunk beds and the cool pool!!
I need to learn to spell monorail. M O N O R A I L!!! There!!!

sporadically Since you asked. Sorry, I try so hard to let the spelling nazi part of me lie low around here, but if I do correct anyone, please know I'm only trying to be helpful, not criticizing!

We just love our Tink playroom! The colors are scary at first, but they really work nicely together. The purple dries a lot lighter than it goes on, and the green tones down a bit too once it's dry.


I went to the other TDS today, and found the shirt for my dad in a Medium! I hope it fits! I got one for my DB too, and a tshirt for his GF, the tan one with the "Island Girl" Minnie on it that matches Minnie on the girls' dresses. DB likes his shirts big because he's very tall (6'4") and doesn't like his belly showing because it's full of scars. But it looks to me like the sizes are about the same length, the XL is just about twice as w-i-d-e. Lin: They didn't have the men's tank tops at that store either, just the one by my house I guess. I can't imagine they were popular enough to sell out! Anyway I feel much better now that we ALL can coordinate for the Luau!

Emma slept in the car all the way to the store, and was very crabby until we were done shopping. I asked her if she wanted to look at toys and she said, "No, I HATE toys!" Poor kid. But she wouldn't let me leave until we'd walked up & down every aisle - kept grabbing my hand and saying "come ON!" That store had some Tink Faeries merchandise left, but not the one item I was hoping for: the collapsible storage bin. By the time I decided it was perfect for our Tink playroom (see above) they were all gone from our store. It was interesting to see how different items had more or less remaining than our store, since they are only about 1/2 hour apart I'd have thought they'd be about the same. It's a good thing Emma was crabby or I'd have bought a lot more stuff!

The site was called myxertones.com. I stumbled across it looking for something else, and signed up and did a search for Disney and found quite a few good ones! I intend to go back on there and search for other terms to see what comes up. It looks like a site where anyone can upload their own stuff, so the quality varies, but I got the old Pooh theme song, the background music for the Teacups ride (A very merry unbirthday, to me?) and Yo Ho Yo Ho from the Pirates ride, also a good chunk of the Pink Elephants song which just tickles me to no end.

I can stand the sight of worms

Is really too much for me!


So I went to the podiatrist today for that thing on my toe. He now no longer thinks it's a wart (I knew that 2.5 months ago). He has no idea what it is, but my pinky toe is red & swollen and VERY sore. He wants me to try an antibiotic for a couple weeks and then he suggested outpatient surgery to remove the lump - he said he'll have to put me under general because he can tell I won't tolerate surface numbing. I wholeheartedly agree, I do NOT numb well at all. I'm terrified, and afraid I waited too long to go back. About 7 years ago I had a growth on my finger that was a similar situation, dermotologist thought it was a wart but it didn't respond to usual treatment, biopsied and it grew back, took it off and still didn't know what it was. Diagnosed as a "fibrous mass" but thankfully didn't come back a third time after surgery. I'm thinking I got another one of those on my toe. I just hope it doesn't affect walking at WDW! Gotta have my priorities straight, right?

It's scary when the foot doctor doesn't know what is wrong with my foot. It's getting very painful to wear shoes, but I don't want surgery, even outpatient. Wish me luck! What are the chances that a pharmacy will be open tomorrow? Darn, and I had one of those coupons for a $25 gift card at Target with a new Rx, but it expired yesterday. Figures.

Welcome to our non-clique clique thread! I wish Pinecone would pay that much here. Heck, I wish I'd get invites for Pinecone surveys, even $4 would be better than the zip I'm getting right now. Stop by to say hi anytime, we try to be friendly around here.

uuugh, I'm so upset, I could spit (well, not really spit, but.....ya know)

I requested the Tuesday and Wednesday as vacation days in November for the Poly trip and was reluctantly given the Wednesday due to another one of the girls in the spa already being off due to a vacation. But, it still leaves two people per shift, which I have worked many times ALONE in the spa and nothing is said------last week, in fact, due to the boss girl's "mistake" (she accidentally took one of the girls completely off of the books instead of just letting her leave an hour early as she requested--------and both of them didn't seem to notice until it was too late to book any clients-----WHATEVER!!! ) Anyway, when I asked for the Tuesday and Wednesday as vacations days, she had to "think about it"------and finally approved it, given I find coverage for my shift on Tuesday (everyone is already on the books for Wed., except for myself and the other girl on vacation).
So, here is where the problem comes in------I was talking to the other girl who will be on vacation on that same Wednesday---------she made a mistake and told them the wrong dates-----she needs TUESDAY also!!! They are so "by the books lately"----they are never going to go for that!!!!! She already has airline tickets (she and her husband are going to the Keys for his birthday with another couple). AND I just spent all weekend on the phone with WDW making plans. My mom is in charge of the flight and I know she has some seats on hold for us, if she hasn't booked them already.

So, if you were me, would you keep the plans as is (Fri.-Wed.), or try to change them to earlier in the week----like the previous Wed. (which would be Halloween) through Monday?? I just feel so bad for the other girl on vacation because she knows it was her mistake, but there is no way they are going to approve of both of us being off at the same time.


Sorry for the rant, but I am just a bit confused and so in a "mood" right now.
