Who here is not in the "clique" like me? Part 4

I have seen a 500mm lens for under $100. It is an Opteka 500mm Mirror lens. I have read good and bad things about it. But for $79, it might be worth a look.

How big is that?

I am looking at getting either a 28-200mm lens or a 18-200 (the 28-200 is about half the cost) because I hate changing lenses at WDW and my 70-300mm is BIG. The lenses I am looking at are pretty compact. A long zoom is great for AK though.

pozey: My dad just picked up a portable DVD player at I think Office Depot for around $50. It was half price, some off brand but it looks comparable to the one I have which is very nice. 7.5" screen, comes with a remote. You may want to check it out. And HAVE FUN on your trip! I have some very fond memories of family road trips - except the bickering w/my brother over who gets the "way back" seat in the van. I always brought books and my Walkman, and Mom would bring a goodie bag of snacks and small toys that she would guard with her life, and hand out one thing every hour or two.

I do NOT understand how eBay works. If your maximum bid was higher than the winning bid, why didn't you win it? Oh well, I can usually find what I'm looking for cheaper than eBay anyway, once you add in the shipping costs and taxes and stuff it's not always such a great deal, and I will never again use Paypal anyway since my account got hacked and I lost $2000.00, so I guess I don't need to understand how eBay works. I used it once to buy a necklace for my high school reunion and when it came it was NOT the color that it was on-screen and didn't match my dress and other jewelry at ALL.

Michele: Have fun at Cedar Point! Sounds like it'll be a blast... well except the bus ride of course. It almost reminds me of my bus ride to Grad Night at WDW. We lived about 3 hours away so we just rode the bus up that day after lunch, then tooled around the MK all night - it was SO crowded. I didn't realize schools from all over the country had Grad Nites at WDW, or I probably wouldn't have gone since I can't stand the crowds. Anyway, we hopped on the bus in the wee hours of the morning to go home, and everyone tried to sleep. I say tried because it was freezing in there! We had a chartered motorcoach-type bus, and they played movies and it was very nice & comfy, but the A/C was on the fritz and would not turn off. There was actually frost on the inside of the windows!! We pretty much had to snuggle up to stay warm, and everyone was wearing their shopping bags because of course we didn't bring sweaters. Ugh!

Linda: That's the same thing we say about Kansas weather! If you don't like it, wait 5 minutes. It's crazy!

Donna: Those croissants look delicious, I'll take two please. They will go nicely with the cream cheese Emma smeared on me this morning when she dropped her bagel in my lap. Loud tv watchers - aaack! That's a huge pet peeve of mine. I don't understand why the volume has to be blaring so much as to bother other people in other rooms of the house. When I was living temporarily in my parents' basement my living room was right under theirs, and Dad watches at max volume. He doesn't even watch good movies loud, just stuff like the news and Judge Judy, at max volume. I was constantly having to run upstairs and tell them to turn it DOWN!! I think it's just a guy thing. (No offense pozey and UnderDog!)

Mom is taking the kids to the pool today, along with Lyzzie's friend. They are all very excited! Lyzzie was upset last time because she couldn't find her swim goggles, but we found some in the dollar spot at Target so now she is over the moon about them. They came with noseplugs which she wore around the living room for a while before deciding she didn't like them... but is bringing them to the pool anyway "just in case." In case of what, I have no idea.

Well unless something comes up, I have already finished my work for the day. Sad, isn't it?

Good morning!

Thanks for breakfast Donna!

Well the flooring guys are here. I am really scared if I will like the flooring I picked out.:scared: You know how it is when you only get a small sample to look at in the store. I am getting a laminate from Shaw. It is made to look like ceramic tiles. I didn't even think about our counter tops being granite and making sure they will match. :rolleyes1 I guess I'll find out soon enough!

The contractor did not show up yesterday and is not here yet this morning! I swear if it was just a teasement (for Kenny :) ) I am going to blow my stack!!!:furious:

Got a story for you all. Yesterday Gracie (@&%@! dog!!!) broke through the fence again into the neighbors yard. Brittany went over to try to get her, but the stupid dog kept running away from her and running around in circles while the neighbor watched. I started to walk over to help her and tripped over the sidewalk, head and shoulder first.:sad2: Now I have a nice goose egg above my eye, a nice patch beside my eye where the skin scraped off, no skin left on my shoulder, bruised palms, boo boo knees, possible sprained big toe, my shoulder joint hurt, and my pride gone!:sad2: I swear if I make it through this week and am able to get on the plane it will be a true miracle!:guilty:

Thanks for the head's up on that!! I've been checking other places, and the lowest I found was about $75. There is an Office Depot not too far. I may run by there at lunch.

Sorry......I posted the incorrect winning bid. The winning bid was $382, not $282. My mistake...

I was figuring it was a typo ;) and he got sniped by a few bucks... is that right pozey? wow, I've never had any problems w/paypal. thank goodness!! I just need to start selling on there and stop buying:rotfl2: I've spent several k on there...and have never sold a single item:rolleyes1

Oh Lesa:hug: :grouphug: you poor thing:guilty: I have to admit the teasement made me laugh and get weird looks:rotfl: I'm sending my prayers that you get through Sunday w/o any more problems!!!

ohhhh NICE!!!!

pozey: Ahhh well that makes more sense then. I think the DVD player was a Mustek brand. It is black and looks pretty good. I thought mine was a good deal at $82 last year at Target! Dad was so nice to pick up this one so the kids can each watch their own movie on the plane to WDW -- and also so he has a new "toy" to play with until then (of course).

Lesa: Oh my, girl! You REALLY need that WDW trip. Try not to hurt yourself any more before you go -- WDW is much more fun when you can enjoy it in one piece!! I would like to say I can't believe that contractor didn't show up, but somehow it doesn't come as a shock. That's too bad. Hopefully he will show up soon. Good luck with your new flooring!

I pretty much have too:sad2: that drives me crazy!!! I just filled out termination papers for 2 guys and that is about it for the DAY! where is the twiddling thumbs smilie. that is really bad b/c then I shop online:crazy:

So far so good with the floor!!! It looks like slate. I was afraid how it was going to look and wishing I had gone with the real stuff, but with Disney and all the carpet coming, it was not in the budget. ;)

Sorry to hear you guys are so bored at work. Hopefully it will pick up for you guys!

Pozey...your trip sounds like a lot of fun! I have always wanted to go there. Maybe someday, if we stop taking all our trips to Disney!:rolleyes1

pozey, that doesn't look to bad. My 70-300 starts out about that big, but then when I zoom, watch out!

Lesa, you poor thing. You really need a vacation.

I am pretty much done my work too. I have a few things I can work on, but it's just busy work. Oh how I want to go home.

Mike has a dentist appointment next month. He has a cavity on his front tooth (near the gum). He will be going to a new dentist and they can't give me even a general idea of what fillings cost. Our insurance covers 80%, but I haven't used it before. So, I have no idea what this is going to cost. I keep thinking it's going to be thousands of dollars.

glad its coming out good so far:cool1: its hilarious b/c my boss and I have been sitting here talking about dvc for days. I'll send him some links...then a few hours later he'll ask a ? about it... then he'll look more at night and ask me more in the morning:rotfl2: like I'm the expert or something...when I'm not even a member yet...I've just done a lot of looking and reading. He's ready to buy but he wants a smaller resale for now. He's got his wife talked into bwv. as if that takes much:rotfl: she wanted to buy into it years ago but he doesn't want a 50 yr deal...which I totally understand. that is the only thing I don't like... 35ish is much better!

I know..I bumped Kenny in the head at the zoo w/it:rolleyes1 oops! I'm ready to go home too. I slept in the recliner from 2am on:sad2: my shoulder was just killing me:confused3 it must have been from the camera bag...I have no idea what else could be doing it... I'm sure its not the 30# purse I take everywhere:rolleyes1

dentist...if they pay 80%, you probably still have to pay the deductible first... but I don't think that is usually too much...It shouldn't be thousands for sure ;) I think they're usually a few hundred and if the cover 80%... it shouldn't be too bad...

I usually get a back ache from lugging around my camera; that's why I want to get a long range lens. I won't have to worry about carrying multiple lenses.

I believe the deductible is $150, but I have to call. I am just worried, because I have no idea what dentist's charge.

Nicole, send some work over here; I'll help. :)

I'm hungry and have no idea what I want for lunch.

With our insurance, we have a $75 a year deductable, and then they pay 80%. I think with Madison's last filling it cost me about $100.

With all your read, your probally more of an expert on it than I am as a member. I am always confused and the poor person at member services has to explain things to me over and over again before I understand it. Even then I forget what she said when we hang up.

Lyzziesmom, Linda, and Amber, come help me finish my work! I really need to work but am here dising!
 email it to me and I'll help you!

I can see that easily, the backache!!!

the $150 would probably cover it:thumbsup2 (thumb)...if not, it shouldn't be much more. Unfortunately, I've been to the dentist WAY too much!!!:rolleyes1 guess its not good sitting here looking at a Mt. Dew, dark choc M&M's and a pack of gum on my desk:lmao: the dentist knows me TOO well. My insurance pays 2k a year max and I used all of it plus some last year:sad2:

Thanks Lesa and Linda. Even though I know he needs the filling, I hate spending the money (I mean I could be putting that money towards WDW :cutie: ). Hmm, Mike with no teeth :scratchin On second thought :scared: I guess he'll be getting the filling.

I'm sure I could do that too.. but we're allowed, we can blame it on the blonde hair:lmao: I just wanted to know all the details since I want to buy :woohoo: and I know Mike will have ?'s and I DEFINITELY want to be prepared and know the answers he might ask :cool2: then he's all impressed and thinks I know what I'm talking about :ssst: don't tell my secret though:rotfl2:
