:bored: I wish I were at wdw.... I think we need to take a trip down and check out the dvc resorts!! ok, any excuse will work ;) oh yeah, I'll have to try out the new camera too!

I am going to kill my mother.

I asked her last night if she could come over to pick up the girls this morning, since school is out and they stayed up a little later than usual last night. This way we all get to have a little extra sleep in the morning because I don't have to schlep them all over town before work. Well, picking them up turned into her staying over all day, and what does she do to keep her busy? CLEAN! Now don't get me wrong, I appreciate the help, IF it's something I wanted clean. But she went into a closed box that was marked "work stuff" and took everything out and put it where she decided it belonged, and threw the rest away! I discovered this when I went home for lunch and found her eating my leftovers. And I just now talked to her on the phone, she was telling me she did this and she did that, and I said, "As long as you didn't clean up my scrapbooking stuff because I had everything in piles and I plan to work on it on Sunday." And she answered that she DID clean it up! Now if there's stuff lying around on the floor that the kids didn't put away, that's one thing. But my scrapbooking supplies are sacred to me, you do NOT touch them. She KNOWS this. I had the dining room table covered in nice organized (to me) piles according to sets of things that I was planning on using together on certain pages. There was also a section of the table with Lyzzie's scrapbooking things on it. To the untrained eye, it may have looked like a mess but to me, it was WEEKS of work. I also sold my scrapbooking desk at the garage sale, and my new work area is only half constructed, so putting everything "away" is a big chore, having to come up with a new organization system. I have been working on it a little at a time over the past couple of months. She just piled everything up and stashed it here & there in cupboards!!

I had to hang up on her before I burst into tears at work, I am FURIOUS. This is so not worth the extra hour of sleep I had this morning.

Quick question.......

I am going to buy DW a small point and shoot digital camera tonight so that she can take it with her to New Orleans.

I have a couple in mind.

One is about the size of a credit card. It is 2 inches tall, 3 inches wide, and less than an inch thick. It is a nice point and shoot.

The other one is a little bigger, but still fairly small. It is almost 3 inches tall, 4 inches wide, and close to 2 inches thick. The major difference in this one is that it has built in Image Stabilization and will record like a camcorder.

The price difference in the two isn't much.

So.........what say you? Go with the small one? Or go with the one that is a little bigger, but has IS?

pozey: I would go with the bigger one. If the price difference is minimal, I think the IS and the camcorder capability are pretty cool additions.

Oh, and I forgot to add this to my Mom rant: She also noticed a package on my porch addressed to Emma and Lyzzie from Lyzzie's grandparents, so naturally she brought it in the house and opened it. It contained 2 Webkinz for each of them, so she then let Lyzzie go online and register them. I really wish she would not have done this. Each Webkinz gives you registration on the site for one year, after that you must either pay to continue using the site or register a new Webkinz toy. If you register a new one before your year is up, it does NOT add the next year to the end of the current one, it just renews from the date of registration. Lyzzie's current registration just started about 3 weeks ago. SO if Mom had just waited until I got home, I would have not let Lyzzie register all of them right away and we would have had another 4 years of free webiste use, which is worth $60.00. Not to mention that I missed Emma opening her first birthday present of the year. Thanks a lot Mom. Am I wrong to be severely POed about all this??

I did call her back and try to explain why I was so upset about her "putting away" all my scrapbooking stuff. She just said, "I said I'm sorry and I'm not going to say it again. If you don't like it I won't come over or watch your kids anymore. I guess you'd rather just live in filth."

pozey, I'd go w/the IS :cool1:

lyzziesmom:eek: I know what you mean about the scrappin' stuff:scared: that stuff takes forever:guilty: I'd be really upset too! but thankfully my mother never messed w/my stuff! Thankfully Mike knows better too;) Does she ever call you at work, or email you? maybe she can learn to ASK first!!!! I sure hope so! Good luck!

pozey, I would probably go with the IS camera. It depends though. What cameras are you looking at?

Lyzziesmom, I would be irate. It isn't her house to clean and she really should have asked before doing anything.

Thank you guys for understanding. My mom did call me this evening to say that she feels bad but get this... she still doesn't feel bad that she moved my stuff, she just feels bad that it made me upset. I feel just like I do with the kids all the time: "Are you sorry that you did it, or are you sorry that you got caught?" 99% of the time it's the second one. Mom suggested that I make her a list of what is off-limits. I told her it's pretty easy... if it's mail or if it's in my bedroom or not on the floor, it's off-limits! If you aren't sure, ASK! Geez. I did thank her for the general sprucing up, but it just seems like common sense to me that you don't touch other people's stuff. Her response? "Well if that's what you think then you haven't been a mom long enough."

I won't be posting any pictures of myself for a while, because I'll be bald from tearing my hair out.

:grouphug: for a minute I thought you were serious until I read b/c the bald part:rotfl: for one, you have been a mom long enough, that has nothing to do with it. she just has no respect for your privacy and your things, imho;) but I know how mothers can be and they THINK they're helping:sad2: even when WE know they're clearly NOT!!!! next time I'd leave her a note or specifically tell her DO NOT TOUCH...this stuff (scrapbook stuff) and don't open any mail or packages for goodness sakes! :) Maybe that might help:confused3 I'd sure hope so...not that she will listen ;) good luck!!!!

WOW Mike just surprised me big time.... this man REALLY loves me!!!!! He was talking about SELLING his Harley and putting it towards DVC:faint: :faint: :faint: WOW!!!!:cloud9: I have my boss talked into buying into it too!!!! :woohoo: :cheer2: :cool1: I think we need to take a trip pretty soon!

WOW Linda, you really have Mike trained well! ;) Do you get any sort of bonus for referring people to DVC if you already own? So if you were to buy, and then your boss were to buy and give them your name, would you get anything? Just a thought. I really have no clue how these things work.

Emma is shaking my arm and saying, "It's time to brush my teeth and go to sleep! You have to be there!" so I'd better go!

What a guy! You must have done something really good (tell me what it was so I can get Mike to agree to DVC).

Linda..........could you have Mike give my DW a call?? I need him to give her tips on things she can sell so we can buy DVC.

Let's see........she could sell her massive porcelain doll collection (of which there are dolls in boxes that have never seen daylight). She could part ways with about 400 pounds of jewelry that she doesn't wear......

Seriously.....(as serious as I can get at least...) What a guy!! Way to go Mike. :thumbsup2 (thumb)

Well, I wanted to get the Canon Powershot A570IS, but they were out of stock. I ended up getting the Canon A560.

I may go back and see if I can upgrade when they get the 570IS back in stock.

Happy Birthday to little Emma!!!!

UnderDog: My little one is turning 3 on June 2nd. It looks like our plans are going to get rained out though -- although being Kansas, the forecast is likely to change 12 times before Saturday -- so we may end up spending the day at Chuck E. Cheese's. The wrapping/rum party sounds much better to me!

I remember those days!!! :goodvibes Seems like only yesterday we had parties at Chuck E. Cheese. :thumbsup2 :cool1: Have a great time!!!!:grouphug:

Good idea Underdog!:thumbsup2

Happy third birthday Emma!

Hey there everyone!

Ashley, that is horrible about your dentist! I can't believe he didn't believe that you were in pain! I'll keep praying that this fixes the problem and you don't have to worry about it anymore.

Nicole, I'm all for a Vegas meet! And Ashley, we can wait for you! (When do you turn 21?) Hehehe.

Linda, what a great guy, that Mike! Lucky girl!

Pozey, I personally would rather have the slightly larger camera because I would be too afraid I would break or lose the tiny one! Looks like you got that all settled already though!

Lyzziesmom, my Nana is just like your mom, and my mom is getting more like her every day (except not so much the cleaning part). I feel for ya girl!

Underdog, thanks for the snack! Do you think Emma will mind if I take a little piece?

YM, don't forget to stay through the credits!!!!

Am I the only one who prefers Will Turner/Orlando Bloom to Jack/Johnny?????

Night guys, hope you have a great weekend!

Good morning, Crew!!! It looks like it mght be a nice day here today, but that might change by the afternoon. :sunny:
I think a viewing of the POTC3 may be just what I need to do this weekend also. How about a little breakfast to get us in the mood?pirate:
