Good morning, Crew!!!! I think we're in for a little rain today...and I was wanting to grill out this evening. Oh, well, maybe over the weekend!!
Since we've been at the Poly the last couple of mornings; why don't we hop on the monorail and have breakfast at Cinderella's Royal Table??!!princess:
Here are some fruit and pastries to get us started.

I hope you all have a Wonderful Wednesday!!!

What a good idea! Thanks Donna! I've eaten the breakfast twice myself and it's a great experience. I'm glad I did it before the prices went up so much.:rolleyes1

Yes Connor is way off the growth charts for height, Darin is 6'1" but the height comes from my side. My brother is 6'5", my grandpa was 6'5" and one of my Uncles is about 6'4" (these are both on my mom's side). Ben is going to be tall I think but more in the normal range probably 6'0". Connor does have twins in his class that are about 2 inches taller than him but they are also a year older, they started K when they were 6.

Anyway Chef Mickey's was great and we will definetely go back again, we also did Whispering Canyon which was a lot of fun too. Our server was hysterical and the kids loved running the ketchup bottles to the next table. I had never been in the Wilderness Lodge and it was really beautiful, Darin wants to stay there next trip.

Oh I forgot to tell you we were awarded a dream at check-in at the Poly, a set of the Tinkerbell year of a million dreams pins, one to keep and one to give away. Of course Connor was told he could keep his and give the other to his brother so that's what we did. Also at the gift shop at the Poly a really nice CM gave Connor & Ben a pin off her lanyard just because. Very Sweet. Of course Connor's lanyard is weighed down so he used his money to buy a pin trading book and so that's his new obsession pin collecting!

Angela...wow...that's some tall genes. My youngest has always been just a dot above the 95th%. That only means about 6' 1" ish. CM's is a very fun experience...glad yours was good. How nice about the YOMD pins!

donna, breakfast looks wonderful - thanks!!

You mean you can't fit into the dance bag???? :lmao: I think it was Linda's one track mind that confused me - I was packing it full of merchandise too! But.... the good news is, we have a HUGE suitcase!!

:woohoo: :woohoo: Hey DznyFan...I'm glad we got that sorted out...that's very good new about your HUGE suitcase.;) I noticed as I was reading this am that you had to add a couple of days onto your trip.:dance3:

shew...concourse has filet at dinner...but not lunch ;) I had to look or it would bug me all day:rotfl2:

Linda...I would have looked that up too...some things you just gotta know.:lmao:

Linda...I would have looked that up too...some things you just gotta know.:lmao:
oh yes! Then I get to looking at all the other restaurants and start drooling:rotfl: we'll have to close Le Cellier again!! We could have gotten some great group shots in there w/the whole place to ourselves! I can't wait til our next trip!! even though I was up on the cruise board reading about someone getting bed bugs on DCL:eek: !!!

Yeah...adding a few days Dznyfan... that is ALWAYS great news!! I was telling Mike that "so and so" is selling their DVC and he says... "maybe we can buy it":cheer2: I try not to get too excited, just in case...but dvc at OKW WOULD be awesome!!! I remember you saying he'd like it there ;) I think we should go try it out first ;) I know I'd love it..but it sounds like the perfect excuse to go back sooner:lmao:

Good day all.

Dznyfan, thats awesome that you got to add a couple of days to your trip! Nothing wrong with that!

Chris went ahead and booked our flight out for Friday afternoon so we have all day Saturday and Sunday morning to go to Magic Kingdom and DTD, then we are flying back late the next Sunday so we have a half day on Sunday to go where ever. My husband rocks. I'm so excited.

The schedule for Travel Channels Disney specials on 4-1 are on their website if you want to see what all they are showing. I'm definitely recording it all!

-It is quiet! It's so spread out, and the buildings are much like condos instead of hotels. No long hallways with doorways on either side!
-You get more bang for your buck! Both when you purchase your ownership interest, and when you use your points to stay there. OKW price per point is lower than the other DVC resorts AND it uses less points per stay when you book!
-The rooms are bigger! True. All other DVC resorts utilize a different floorplan which is smaller, and IMO not as well laid-out.
-It is beautiful! It's landscape is lush and mature. You're within (long) walking distance to Downtown Disney, although I've never walked it. You can bus or boat there.
-Bus service is exclusive to OKW, although there are five stops within the property. I have to disagree with rumors of poor bus service at OKW - it's the same, regardless. In our experience we've had just as poor service at The Boardwalk and The Wilderness Lodge! (In fact, I waited SO LONG for a bus at WL a couple years ago that I had to hire a taxi to get me to something I had booked on time!)

I just love it there, though...:cloud9:

Sorry I took so long...poor Lilly hasn't been feeling well...she has Thrush:sad2:

The meds are really helping. Plus now Matt has Strep so I have been home from work since 12:30 Monday. You would think that my house would look better by now wouldn't you??:confused3

Blake feeding her the other night, she was hiding!:rotfl2:

Linda, honestly there are pros and cons to having OKW as a home resort, as anywhere else. Personally, we love it! The cons are that it is the oldest DVC resort. It's not as heavily themed, some say, and that it doesn't have as many recreation and dining options. True. However, for us, the pros heavily outweigh the cons.

I didn't think POFQ was heavily theamed either...but we still really liked it. that is what I like about okw too... it didn't look like it required too many points per stay:woohoo: that means more trips of coarse!! we always drive down...so I never worry about busses at all. I think we're just going to have to take a trip down there and check it out:thumbsup2 (thumb of coarse) Thank you so much for the info! I was telling my boss about it and we were thinking about buying a re-sale..and he said if we end up buying to let him know too..he'd never thought about buying a resale before ;) his wife is a ta and gets incredible discounts! They're there now:sad1: I wish I was with them!! Kenny woke up Sat. and the first thing out of his mouth... "Chris might be going to ToT right NOW...":lmao: :rotfl2: is he like me or what:rotfl: then he was picking out a book for the book fair and I hear him telling Mike.. "well, my mom really likes disney, so I should get High School Musical or Zach and Cody"

Michele:grouphug: I hope everyone gets to feeling better soon!! The pix of Lilly are too precious! I love the hiding ones... looks like she's posing..or saying "no, not again!" She is too adorable!:cloud9:

Lin:cheer2: way to go!!! Yes... for that..Chris rocks!:cool1:

We are always thinking about DVC and I'm set on OKW if we do buy in for a lot of the reasons you list. When we stayed at POR and took the boat to DTD we got to see it from the water and it looks very relaxed and quiet. Maybe in the next few years!!

Michele those pictures of Lily are great! I'm sorry for all the funk in your house, hopefully Lily and Matt are back to normal soon.:grouphug:

Yummy Concourse Steak House, we'll have to hit that or Le Cellier next trip!! Darin wants to go again at Thanksgiving but I'm think October might be better, we'll see. :)

Oct. or Nov. for your next trip!! :cheer2: That is too awesome! I'm trying to convince Mike to more than once a year. That is easier said than done. I think if we do buy the DVC... they we'd definitely be going more often ;) w/us being able to stay at SOG...I'm still just not sure... I know that's hard to believe ;) but I just don't know:scratchin

I need to get my head in the right place and concentrate on nursing:rolleyes1 Mike is calling our renter this weekend about possibly buying the rental...or we'll be putting it up for sale....:woohoo:
Plus, I'm supposed to go back to court Monday yet again over the child support b.s.!!we'll see how THAT goes:rolleyes:

Linda, hugs to you for your child support stuff. Kenny is so blessed to have you and Mike watching out for him and his needs.

Update on my Disney job situation: I just got off the phone with Karen in WDW professional recruitment and she basically said, I can't give you anything professional or full-time, but if you want to relocate to Central Florida and start out as a part-time cast member you can move into the internal recruitment training program within about 6 months with your background and then be in line for a future position.

This was not the response I needed or wanted, but it was what I expected. There is just no way that we can move there in hopes that I get something full-time within 6 months. We just aren't financially stable enough for that kind of move or time commitment. She said that they hardly ever hire externally anymore since they have such a large pool of internal candidates who are ready and willing, not to mention local, to take any open positions.

*sigh* Guess I'll be teaching school.

Oh, that boat ride is so nice! We used to have just pontoon boat service to and from DTD, until Saratoga opened, now we share larger boats and stop and pick up Saratoga folks also. I miss the pontoon service - it was smaller and more intimate, and often lots of fun w/ the boat captain!

Good luck, Linda! :grouphug:

Oh, Michele - Lilly is just so beautiful and precious! I hope everyone in your household gets well soon!

Lin - that stinks about your Disney job dilemma. Sorry it didn't work out better for you.

Hi all, just a quick hello and checking in. My boss is in town again for a couple days, so I need to try to look busy!

Michele: Lilly is too cute! I just adore little baby hands, they are so sweet. I like the hiding in the first 2 pictures, and then the next one is like "PeekABoo!" she's WIDE awake!

Lin: I'm so sorry you didn't get the answer you wanted from Disney. I guess it's just not in the cards for you at this time. Don't give up though, you never know where the future might bring you.

Donna: That breakfast looks great! I did CRT for lunch last year before all the changes, we liked it but I can't imagine paying OOP for it as much as they charge -- we didn't even like any of the food!

Hi to everyone else, sorry I don't have time to comment on everyone's posts but I will try to catch up more later. Have a great day!

Have I told you guys lately that I love you. You always make me feel better and you listen to me whine and complain. You are all the very best.

Michele, Lilly is a doll! I love the 4th picture. I hope she and Matt start feeling better.

Lin, I'm sorry about the Disney job.

Linda, I hope all goes well at the child support hearing.

I just had my review at work. I did get a raise (a whopping .20) but at least I know I'm doing a good job.

Well thank you so much ;) I have to agree... Kenny and I have been very blessed! He's a great kid and he deserves the best!
I'm so sorry about the Disney call:hug: I know that isn't what you were wanting to hear from her...but at least she was honest and didn't give you false hopes. I think I could live w/just living close to wdw and being able to go often!! Maybe something will come up and change things!

thank you :) ahh that boat ride sounds great. Kenny would be in heaven!!

Hi all, just a quick hello and checking in. My boss is in town again for a couple days, so I need to try to look busy!
I know that feeling... sometimes ;) taht is harder than just being busy...trying to look busy when there's nothing to do... that is harder than working for me!

Have I told you guys lately that I love you. You always make me feel better and you listen to me whine and complain. You are all the very best.
you're not whining and complaining Lin:grouphug: but we are here for you!!! You guys always make me feel better too:cloud9:

Thank you so much :)... :cheer2: yay for getting a raise!!! better than our usual....0.00! Yes... Lilly is a doll:cloud9:

Linda- Good luck at the hearing on Monday. Kenny is so lucky to have you and Mike.

Lin- I'm sorry about the job. Vent away, that's what we're here for.

Amber- Congrats on your raise, it's better than nothing!

thank you so much Nicole!! I really do appreciate it. I need all the prayers I can get!

note to self...don't forget to order my hollywood snowglobe!!! Sorry...don't mind me:rolleyes1

Lin, I know you are bummed out about that:grouphug: When one door closes another usually opens up!

Go Amber, go Amber!! :cheer2: :cheer2: Congrats on your raise, 20 cent is 20 cent! I agree with Linda better than the .00 raise.

Lyzziesmom I'm sure you always look busy but instead of busy with us your busy at work. We understand :dance3:

Just want to give you a couple of movie reviews that we've watched on DVD the last few days. The first one was Eragon the dragon movie, we watched this as a family and Connor loved it, we all actually enjoyed it and I'm hoping they make the sequels just like the books! The 2nd movie was adults only for The Departed with Leo, Jack & Matt and it was really good, although a bit depressing at the end. Jack Nicholson is such a great actor he can actually make you hate, fear and love his character at the same time!:scared1:

Hope everyone has had a good day! 2x2 hope all is well with you and you're feeling good. Have a good night!

Thanks for the reviews Angela! I'll have to have Mike watch for those. Tonight we watched Shaggy dog...Kenny liked it. It was cute..and now we started to watch First Daughter... seems alright but had to pause it to watch AI....I CAN NOT BELIEVE SANJAYA IS SAFE! :scared1: I'm in disbelief!
