Hi guys, we had a busy day today so I'm just checking in real quick.
Hi 2x, try to come by a little more often, willya? I'm sure your sister will adjust soon, it's hard making any major life change. Maybe it's better for her not to come just now, like you said it's emotional to see all your stuff in one truck.
Lesa: yay you got to see Lilly! Great news about the contractor -- let's just hope he doesn't ruin your siding & roof and then just leave it a mess. Something tells me he won't mess with you, though.
Michele: Lyzzie took a while to warm up to the idea of bathing. I have a video of her first bath at home -- she was crying, I was crying, and I yelled at my dad to just shut the darn camera off! Ahh, the wonderful memories for posterity.
Linda: Kenny swooshing in the tub, how fun! I can always tell when Lyzzie's still in there because she talks to herself, it's just constant chatter. She does that in bed too, it's a wonder she doesn't wake Emma.
We spent the day garage-saling and we made out like bandits! Lyzzie got something like 37 books and an American Girl doll, a few items of clothing, 4 CDs, a computer game and a Minnie Mouse visor from WDW. I got a couple books, some placemats & linen napkins, a purse, a china teacup & saucer, and a Brita water pitcher with 10 filters. Emma got a bunch of books and some movies, including a Wiggles movie. Oh and I forgot, Lyzzie got a
scooter too. ALL that stuff cost me about $42.00. Woohoooo!!
After we were done garage saling, it was still early afternoon and such a nice day that we decided to go to the zoo. I always forget what terrible customer service they have there! The line to get in was about 15 people deep, long but not horribly bad, but it took over 30 minutes!! And it took us 20 minutes to get lunch with only 2 people in front of us in line, the lady actually said to me, "I must be blind cuz I can't find any forks, too bad." So I just stood there & stared at her until she got someone else to go find the forks. (This was after several other "duh" incidents on her part too, such as this gem: "You wanna make that a combo?" "What does the combo come with?" "Fries." "For $3.00 extra? Just fries? Are the fries that good?" "It comes with fries.") But all in all, we had a nice day and I am pooped!
Tomorrow my parents are taking Emma with them to bring my brother to MN for more MRIs at the Mayo Clinic. He is having surgery there in May (I think) and they won't accept MRIs from anywhere else. They are taking Emma with rather than try to find a babysitter for 3 days. The girl wears me out, but I'm going to miss her terribly!! I think I'll take the opportunity to take Lyzzie to the movies, she wants to see "The Last Mimzy." I will have to research it and make sure it's suitable for her, but I think it looks pretty good too, and that's rare to find a movie we can both enjoy.
Well I'm exhausted from our busy day, and I'm off to catch up on a few more threads and then it's bedtime for me. Hope everyone's having a wonderful weekend!
