I would be up for a meet. I'm about an hour from DC.

If you girls are interested let's get this ball rolling! I have always wanted to go to DC when the cherry trees are in blossom. That happens the end of March into the first of April. I'm not sure of all there is to do in DC but I'm sure we could come up with something. I am available most Saturdays and Sundays although I would prefer going on a Saturday. So what do you think?!?!?!?!?

Bonnie, it sounds like you're pretty close to DC as well. Maybe a cliquless mini meet is in your future.

Well Miss Lesa you only have a few more days until you see Lil' Lilly. Give her a big hug from all of us.

MY SIL is very excited. In fact, for her 24th birthday yesterday my MIL gave her the Addy American Girl doll! (My SIL is African-American). I told them all at dinner last night and her mom is thrilled because she is a principal for a vastly AA elementary school. I'm glad they are finally doing this!

I think it is great. For Disney having such diversity, it has taken them long enough to come out with an AA Princess. I bet there will be a lot of happy little girls. Also, I'm excited for the story line to take place here in the USA.

Donna are you slacking on the job again. That's ok. Cereal is good once in a while.

Well I must get back to.....more cleaning. You would think with such a small house and no kids I would be done by now. I guess I took to many breaks yesterday. I need to lay off the smilies. Pretty soon my posts will look like someone elses.

My dad used to have a yellow MG convertible when I was really little - like I think when I was born, and I'm pretty sure he sold it when I was 2. I don't remember much, except it sat in the garage a lot & didn't work very well. Once in a while we would have a "special treat" and get to ride around the block in it, that's about as far as it would go. I remember it being really cute.

Well we are off to Girl Scout Camp Open House, to see the facilities and get Lyzzie registered for summer sleepaway camp. She has decided she'd rather go in July so it gives her something to look forward to throughout the summer, and it's sort of in the middle of summer break. Otherwise, the first session starts about a week after the last day of school! She is very excited, I'm sure she will love it. Today we get to go tour the campground and make double-sure she really wants to go before I plunk down the cash.

Lyzziesmom- Lyzzie will love GS camp!!! I went there many times as a kid and loved it there! There was horseback riding, walks around the camp, swimming, crafts, and just a lot of fun there! She will have a blast!

Let's see if this picture works... This looks a lot like his car except his was red. It was a great car...Blake and I used to borrow it sometimes and go to the beach when we were dating.

Oh what a beautiful car. Your poor brother. Will the insurance cover the car? I know it's not the same and the car probably can't be replaced but some insurance money would probably help a little bit. I am so glad no one was hurt. Thank God the garage wasn't attached to the house. Do they know what happened yet?

My FIL has a dental lab that he runs out of the basement. He used to have an actual shop but has since moved the whole thing into the house. He makes false teeth, bridges, crowns etc.

He has a, what he calls, furnace in the garage. He uses it to melt the wax mold off the gold teeth. It has to run for 1 hour at 800 degrees, then 1 hour at 1200 degrees. He keeps it in the garage because of the smell. He has done this for a minimum of 25 years at the house.

I understand he was still on the 800 degree hour when the fire started. The fire marshall hasn't given his official ruling but they are pretty sure that the furnace somehow started the fire. Since that was the only electrical thing running in the garage.

Luckily the insurance will cover completely rebuilding the garage and replacing the contents...except for the car. That should have had its own insurance policy so no go. They won't cover it!

We have been telling Scott, Blake's brother, for years that he needed to do something about that car. Fix it up and drive it, fix it up and sell it, or just sell it as is. It just needed some minor engine work when he first stored it, who knows what it needed after sitting for so many years.

Howdy crew! DH is home tonight after being away for some of his Air Force stuff.

Michele...the pictures are very sweet of Lilly! I held a 5 week old little boy at DS's baseball practice today. They are so precious at that age....and tiny. My back hurt after about 30 minutes of holding him.

Linda...great news about getting Mike on board for 08....I'm still working on that one!

OH, I don't miss the AF stuff hopefully your dh can retire from it soon too! I can't imagine holding a newborn again either. My back would be hurting too. Good luck working on your dh!! I really hope you guys will be coming!

Little Miss Lilly is 2 weeks old.

I was telling Kenny that she was 2 weeks old yesterday when he was looking at her pictures Michele was nice enough to post. He thinks it's so crazy when a baby is under a year old. "they're not even ONE" its too funny. I remember him getting the hiccups too he would get soooo MAD

His pilot buddy gets incredible prices and I'm still drooling for the 14 night disney cruise to Barcelona his price pp...$599! for 14 NIGHTS that would be like 3k for the 3 of us on the disney cruise for a MONTH.... I need to get an airline job!

I haven't caught up for today yet but I just had an experience I must share...

Some people should not be allowed to procreate! Chris and I were walking the dogs on a block we don't normally walk on. We walked them there last week and this family was outside, dad and a couple of boys. Dad was listening to really loud, really inappropriate music drinking beer in the garage while his sons played basketball in the street with friends. I thought it was odd (mainly the music), but whatever. But today we walked by there house and we could hear a little girl squealing. When we came into view of their entire house, a modest single story, there were two kids, a girl about 7 and boy about 9, running and chasing each other ON THE ROOF!!!!!! If either of us had had our cell phones with us we would have called the police! I could not believe it!!!!
