Who here is not in the "clique" like me? Part 4

Hi, Nicole!! :wave2: How's South Texas today? OK - you're not a pack mule, because of the key words "little backpack". Now, granted, I don't pack as much water as you, but just about everything else is the same. (how do you get 6 bottles of water in a little backpack, anyway?)

Hi, micknpluto! Me, too!

So I've been busting my tail this week so that I can get ahead of myself at work before I leave for vacation, and no I'm sitting here with nothing to do...

Is there anybody out there?

:wave2:

I stuff them in there lengthwise, they all fit. It's pretty heavy in the morning!

It's okay here in Houston. It's supposed to rain all weekend. :(

I guess I'm a pack mule!:lmao: Let's see....I carry 6 bottles of water, snacks, park tickets, my wallet, chapstick, bandaids, batteries, and my camera all in a little backpack!

Yikes. I carry a nice, but small backpack. In it I carry my camera and usually sunscreen. That's about it. I carry everyone's park tickets in my wallet, which is always in the front pocket of my shorts or pants. DW has a fanny pack she wears. That's all we take.

Nicole: except for the water, that's not really too much. We have a little drawstring backpack that we got free for signing up for a credit card at Universal Studios and it's now our "theme park backpack." (Unless we have the stroller, then I just use the diaper bag and add diapers, wipes and an extra outfit for Emma to the following list.) I bring my camera which I wear over my shoulder like a true tourist with extra batteries and memory cards in the case, and in the theme park bag I carry our refillable mug (a new addition this last trip!) and my Body Glide (thanks again Ashley!! we use it all the time!); a baggie of change for pressed pennies, a baggie containing bandaids, eye drops, Sinex, and extra pin backs, and a couple ponchos. That's about it. If we expect to get wet I may bring a hand towel from the resort. In my pockets I carry my park tickets, any cash or Disney Dollars or gift cards, my ID (in case I need an adult beverage!) and my pill case with extra pain meds and some Immodium. That sounds like a lot, but it really amounts to hardly anything. We switch off and take turns carrying the bag - usually Lyzzie will carry it until we get on a ride, then I take in on the ride and she conveniently "forgets" to take it again for a while.

I just re-sent my Photopass pics to all of you who asked for them. I lost track of who got them already and who didn't... I think the site must have been wonky for a few days because I see they have changed everything around yet again. But they do have some great discounts posted right now -- 25% off all 5x7 prints and 20% off PhotoMovies. I really want to do a PhotoMovie so I'd better get cracking!

ETA: oh yeah, I carry a small sunscreen stick in the baggie too in the backpack. I think that's all - thanks for the reminder pozey! And a lipstick in my pocket... I may get all sweaty & have scary hair and raccoon eyes, but at least I'll have shiny pouty lips! ;)

Lyzziesmom, I got your photopass pics and they are great! You guys look like you're having a good time. The AK ones w/ Simba were adorable. :thumbsup2

Hi to everyone!!!!

Must run------have a good day and good weekend to all that are heading out of town or with sick computers!!!

Good morning gang! Thanks for the quick on the go breakfast Donna.

It is a little cool and gloomy here. We were going to try to go to the race track today, but it is suppose to rain.

We had a pretty gloomy day here yesterday. A little girl that lives just a few houses down came over to play with Madison and her friend. The girl is in kindergarten. Anyway, the parents are divorcing and yesterday was moving day. The mom was moving out with the kids, and it was apparent that it is kind of a messy divorce.:sad2: At one point the girls were sitting in the window watching everything being taken out of the house and the look on her face as just so sad. :sad1: My heart was breaking just looking at her. Well to top the night off, the girls were playing on the trampoline and the little girl went to bounce on her butt and she got up trying not to cry. I got her down and looked at her arm and it was bent oddly just below the elbow. :scared1: We took her home and they took her to the hospital, she broke both of her bones in her arm.:guilty: The poor thing, as if she didn't have enough going on in her little life. I just hope the parents were able to put aside what was going on to put the attention into her.

Lesa: That's just awful about the little neighbor girl! Let's hope the parents were able to give her the attention she needs. Take it from someone who has broken both elbows... it is a horrible injury and one of the worst breaks to cure.

I woke up this morning at about 5am to the sound of something scratching in my room! I immediately snapped awake and flipped on the light, and the scratching sound continued. I narrowed it down to my bookcase, so it was either coming from a box on the shelf or behind/under the bookcase. It sounded like a large insect or a small rodent -- I'm actually hoping it's a rodent! I would MUCH rather deal with a mouse, rat, chipmunk or small rabbit stuck in the house than have to find and kill a roach or something else. I mean this was LOUD scratching... it woke me up... and it did not sound small. I never did find it, but the noise stopped after a while and I was able to fall asleep just before the kids woke up. I'm still really freaked out that there is something alive hiding in my bedroom!

I had a bunch of things I wanted to get done today, but it is so gloomy and dreary outside I just don't feel like it.

We had some excitement out on the patio last night... a rabbit was outside munching on some grass when our resident chipmunk came out of his hole. The rabbit actually chased the chipmunk back inside and then SAT on his hole so he couldn't get back out! Once the rabbit moved, the chipmunk came back out and the rabbit chased him all over the patio. It was really weird, I've never seen a rabbit chase anything like that.

Hope everyone has a GREAT day!

Sure no problemo...Friday Night of Last HOOOOT

:lmao:

Lesa...sorry to hear about the little girl and her arm. I hope it heals well. It is also sad about the divorce...we are at the age where we see families breaking up all the time and it is heartbreaking. How has Maddie been doing with her asthma...didn't she get some new meds? My DS's allergist wants to try him on symbicort as soon as it becomes available in the US. He already takes one of the meds in it. I think it is very similar to advair.

lyzziesmom...yikes, I'm with you on the roaches. That sounded pretty loud...I'm wondering about a little mouse or something. Maybe the little creature will decide to leave today!:cloud9:

Nicole...sorry to hear your computer is sick....darn.

Hey DznyFan and Pozey...looks like a typical Memorial Day weekend around here. A little muggy and a chance of showers.:dance3:

Hey Amber, Ashley, Michele, Lin, Linda (hope you have a nice vist in KY), and Underdog.:wave2: :wave2: :wave2:

Lesa, oh, that poor little girl! Topping all her other troubles off she breaks her arm - poor baby!

Lyzziesmom, oh how funny about the rabbit and the chipmunk - I thought it was funny he went and sat on the chipmunk's hole! Sounds like you may have a small rodent problem!

I got out of going to the lake last night - and got my shorts shopping done this morning! Went to TDS and they had some cute movie poster t-shirts. I didn't get one though. I've just got a few other last minute incidentals to pick up at the Wal Mart before the trip! Didn't get my hair cut yet - I'm struggling with where to have it done - I don't think I can get in to my regular salon, and don't know if I want to chance the Supercuts...

We watched Star Wars (Episode IV, which is actually the first one) last night - on the 30th anniversary of its release. Yeah, I guess we're kind of geeks around here...

hey!!!

I'm taking a break.:lmao:

I'm trying to think of something for dinner-----any suggestions?? I'm really not in the mood to run and grab something, because that would entail putting a bra on (sorry, tmi Pozey and Underdog) and doing something with my frizzy ponytail. I'll think of something.

I got sidetracked today as I was putting some things downstairs in the basement-----I found some old photos and I was going through them and laughing. Ahh, good times.:cutie: :rotfl:

oh, Lesa, that poor little girl!!!! She needs some extra hugs with everything she is going through-----and to only be in kindergarten!!!:sad1: Have fun at the tracks if you get to go.

Lyzziesmom---I {{shudder}} at your critter issues!!!!! I wish you the very best!! {{shudder}} again.
I do think the rabbit/chipmunk battle would have been a sight to see, though.

YM----:lmao: :lmao: you're a goof!!!!! (said in the most respectful way, of course:worship: ) thanks for approving Pozey's title.

DznyFan---- glad you got out of going to the lake and got some of your essentials finished. I always start freaking out a bit when a trip is coming and it is getting closer and I am looking at a list of things to be done. I'm sure everything will get finished. Hmm, not sure what to tell you about the haircut thing. I have such wierd hair that I just don't trust someone who doesn't know it well.
Star Wars -----here ya go-----:chewy: :yoda: :darth: (why are these on a WDW board, btw??:confused3
I actually remember when I saw Star Wars-----I was 9 and we were on vacation in California, so we saw it in LA at that famous theater----I'll have to look it up---can't remember. My dad was in heaven.:lmao:

Well, now I'm hungrier than I was 15 minutes ago, so I suppose I'll do something about that.

later kids.:dance3:
