Yolanda...I'm enjoying your beech pics. I went snorkling for the first time in Mexico a couple of years ago. It was amazing. I just had some underwater photos out for my DS to look at. He was reading a story about parrot fish and I just happened to have a picture (not all the clear...but cool).

My first grader has decided that to be smart he need to read all non-fiction books "becuase they are about real stuff MOM"! Ok...as long as you are reading! He's been checking out "under the sea" book...kind of cool!

I went snorkeling my first time in Mexico a few years ago too...and got stung by a jellyfish:rolleyes1 thankfully it was just a little one ;)

yeah...real stuff mom ;) that is too cute!!

lyzziesmom..do you ever put tape on the bottom of your cats feet? you take tape sticky side out in a loop. My x use to put those on the cats feet and laugh so hard he could hardly breathe. they would just shake those paws like crazy trying to get it off.

pozey...love your lalalala smilie:rotfl:

YM: I grew up with the Jello cheesecake, so to me it does taste like cheesecake. It has a different texture than real cheesecake, and is very sweet. I add a little cinnamon & nutmeg to the crust. It's so quick and easy to make. We love it!

Lyzzie is always bringing home non-fiction books from school, usually about animals. This week it was about different breeds of cats - I think it's about the 5th cat breed book she has brought home. One of her favorite books at home is all about cottontail rabbits. She reminds me so much of myself at that age.

Linda: Yep, I've done the tape on the cat's feet trick! Also stickers on the bridge of their nose - they shake their head like crazy to get it off. My favorite though, is to smear a little food on their nose. They *must* lick it off, even if it's something they hate, and then they try to scrape it off their tongue with their teeth! My mom used to just show the cat an orange and the cat would go nuts - they hate citrus, and I guess my mom once sqeezed an orange peel so that it squirted on the cat a little bit and she hated it ever since. Good entertainment, I'm tellin' ya.

A Super Target??? :woohoo:
I knew about the movie theater, we found out about that around 2 years ago. I had also heard about 3 years ago that they were going to build a WalMart Supercenter out east of County Line road, and possibly a mall as well. Haven't heard anything about it since - do you know if all that is still in the works? I used to get a publication here at work that reviewed all the major property purchases and plans for retail/industrial/restaurant additions, but I haven't seen one in a few years.
I was excited to hear about the Super Target as well!!

I don't think the Wal Mart is in the works any longer. Don't know about the mall.

That would be cool to have a publication that lists the property purchases. There is still a lot of growth potential for that area. There are still some prime parcels of land right around the Lowe's area. And with the IHOP and Buffalo Wild Wings doing well, that should draw others to the area.

OH that is hilarious!!! I'll have to do that sometime. :rotfl:

oh...thanks pozey. Guess I'll have to go get BWW for lunch:love:

lyzziemom...sure sounds easy...the jello cheesecake. I edited that out of my post because it didn't quote right...:confused3 But thanks for answering that for me. If you grew up on it I guess it's been around for a while.;) We did have jello and instant pudding so I'm not sure why I hadn't seen instant cheesecake.

It is interesting to see my youngest now starting to get into reading. My oldest does well with reading but it's all about getting "points" for the reading test he takes at school. I'm not sure if he ever really reads for enjoyment...it's all fast and furious to get finished.... go out and play....or this or that. It's nice to see my youngest actaully enjoying the reading! He wasn't reading much before school started so I'm so thankful for this new interest. I really think it was the Junie B. Jones books that got him going (although he's not reading them completly on his own).

Also Linda, cats do not like having Christmas bows stuck to their heads or being dressed in doll clothing. However, it does make for some great angry-cat-in-a-dress photos! ;)

YM: Lyzzie is totally a reader. The girl is almost never without a book. She keeps a couple in the car, and usually has her nose in a book at the breakfast and dinner table. I have actually had to tell her to put the book down and join in the conversation! She will wake up early on the weekends and either start a craft project or read a book or two. She loves the Junie B. books too, and will breeze through one in about an hour or less. Have you gotten your kids the Captain Underpants books? They are hilarious, and the humor is just perfect for that age. A lot of fart & butt jokes, but nothing nasty, just good silly fun. If those don't get a kid into reading, I don't know what will.

Pozey....:lmao:

We have a Lones Star Steakhouse sitting out here with the name covered up...been sitting for several months now?:confused3 Hopefully they are going to open it soon. Our Target was advertised as a Super Target but right near the end they changed it. I guess they didn't want to steal the gazillions of customers away from Walmart.:rolleyes1

DznyFan...any updates on the roof?

Linda...are you finished packing? It looks like me might need a rain poncho for Friday? How dare it try to rain.:rolleyes1 Well, I'm sure that will change daily...so I will just keep watching.

Just thought I'd sneak in and say hello!:tiptoe:

10 more days!:dance3:

Shame on all of you teasing your cats!!  Now what's really funny is to put booties on a dog and watch them prance around!:rolleyes1

Speaking of dogs, anyone looking for one?:confused3 When we were visiting family over the holidays my dear Gracie lost a toy under D-inlaws couch. In order to try to get it she dug a nice hole in their couch.:scared1: Well the other day I got a call from Brittany saying "Guess what the dog just did!" She lost her bone under my couch and ripped a nice sized whole in my couch. Add that to the nice scratches she put in the glass on my new pella patio door!:sad2: I'm ready to give her the boot, but no one else is with me on that!

I have a few quick Madison stories....

The other day we were in the car and out of the blue she announced to me she wanted a 4 year old step brother.:confused3 I told her in order for that to happen her dad and I would have to get a divorce and one of us would have to marry someone else with a 4 year old boy. Then I asked her why she wanted a step brother, she didn't know, just that she wanted one!:confused3

Last night she wanted me to curl her hair, it was just before bed. This morning she got up really sad. I asked her what was wrong and why she was up so early (6:30). She said that her curls falling out of her hair woke her up and now her hair was frizzy. :lmao: I recurled her hair again this morning and that seemed to make her happy, but she refused to put her hat on as it would ruin her curls.

Hope everyone is staying warm! Have a great day!

Lesa: Madison sounds so cute! A 4-year old stepbrother, I wonder where THAT came from?? I used to curl Lyzzie's hair, one year at Easter it came out looking a poodle was sleeping on her head, but she loved it. It actually was pretty cute once it calmed down a bit.

It has been one thing after another today at work. I'm ready for this day to be done! At least it makes the time go by faster.

The only thing I can think of is someone in her class has a stepbrother that they speak highly of.:confused3 Why he has to be 4, who knows!

I hope things get better at work!

YM, that is exactly what's going on w/ our Lone Star.
No updates on the roof, I didn't get a look at it last night, but I don't believe our insurance guy has been called, nor will he be, I'm sure.

OMG - the cat stories are killing me! :lmao: I've never been able to torture a cat... But of my cats, mine now is kind of boring, with the exception that she is in charge of our 120 lb Golden. When he came home to live with us (he was a rescue) he pinned her in the corner of the hallway. That was the LAST time he tried to go after her. She takes sips out of glasses of water and soda, too, by dipping her little paw.
Lyzziesmom, I'd really like to see some angry-cat-in-a-dress photos! :lmao:

Amber, thanks for the Song of the South link!:cool1: I have a really bad copy on a vhs, it is very grainy and has the sub titles at the bottom. It makes it very difficult to watch! I can't wait to get mine!:yay:

That's interesting about your Lone Star sitting there just like the one in Broken Arrow. That's the way this one looks.......the name is partially covered up.

I was talking to someone the other day about it. They said that they had heard that's just the way they do things.......build the building to NEAR completion.....then wait until they have managment staff in place, then finish it. Sounds odd to me.....but maybe it's true?
