Hi Lin...speaking of baking...I got my card with the butter coconut pie recipe. :woohoo: I was so excited. :thumbsup2

DnzyFan...the mail must be flying out here to Owasso because your card arrived today too. :cheer2: How did your shopping go?

Ok...I see I have an assignment: WATCH ELF! I will need to report on the funniest line in the movie. :rotfl:

Angela...the peppermint bark sounds good.

Lesa...glad you were feeling better after your fun-filled morning.

Nicole...wow...you're going all the way with the cake decorating. How fun! :cake:

Donna...the shopping went pretty good. My main goal was to buy the boys some "church" clothes with gift certificates from my brother. I did really well....now I'm hoping they fit. :rolleyes1

lyzziesmom...I have baking on the weekend list. DS also has a basketball game. :bounce:

I'll be working tomorrow...we have a Christmas lunch for the employees. I'm hoping for a fun day. :dance3:

Good night....I'll catch everyone tomorrow.

Hey Lyzziesmom, do I get a prize if I can name the book that picture came from?

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone!

I thought it looked familiar!! I just searched for 'owls' and liked the look of that one. I'm not sure if anyone ever clued you in... but if we are up late at night one of us (usually me) will post a picture of an owl and "hoot!" because we are the night owl shift of the cliqueless crew. Although that makes it sound like a lot of thought went into it, which would be misleading. I always try to find odd, interesting owl pictures. I thought I recognized this one, and I liked the way there was a group of them and they were bringing gifts!

ETA: Here is your prize!
MacrameOwl.serendipityThumb.JPG

I had kind of figured the hoot thing out and I like it.

I am a HUGE Harry Potter fan...I almost jumped up to grab my book and name the exact chapter but decided that was a bit, um, freaky of me.

I got my Purple Pass today! Yippee! Its my Disney pass I get for working at TDS. I have been terrified it wasn't going to come in time for my trip.

I just added your prize to my post, and then I saw you posted again Lin! It's a macrame owl. Appropriate, no?

I have read the first 2 1/2 HP books to Lyzzie but after a few months she sort of lost interest... and I ran out of voices. (She makes me give every character their own voice - and most of them must be British! I'm so glad nobody else is around to hear it!!)

We just started the Narnia books and if we ever get through those, I plan to return to HP. I might even read them myself before reading them aloud to her! I read so fast, and it's so frustrating to read aloud because it takes so much longer. I also have to stop a lot to explain things, sometimes she either doesn't follow the action or doesn't understand a word, so if I'm not sure either we will stop and look it up. It takes forever but she learns so much that way!

Did you guys hear about the parent in GA (I think) that wanted HP books banned from the school library? They held a hearing, and the lady didn't even show up!! So... Harry is safe in school for now.

I love it!

Harry Potter books are incredible. People make such a big deal about the "witchcraft" in those books, Puh-leze! If we banned every book that mentioned witchcraft, magic, etc there would be very few books left, not to mention childrens books. Heck, even the Narnia series would go bye-bye. Those books are great too! The third is my favorite, but its my least favorite movie. I'm very bothered by the fact that the first two movies were very classic; they wore the robes and scarves, etc. The next two they go all modern...no more robes, modern clothes. I would protest if I could...well, not really, but it really irks me. I'll admit, I'm a total Potter-head. I know all this random trivia and look up names of new characters to figure out their meanings...you would be shocked at some of my theories just based on their names! Chris thinks I'm totally bonkers. I used to be a moderator for www.harrypotter.com, "taught" transfiguration in an online group and had my own Harry Potter website. Besides Disney Harry Potter is my other love!

The books are available on CD. Do you think she would listen to them? I know you can check them out from the library. The guy that did them bores me to death but he does different voices for each character and is pretty expressive.

I'm a little embarrased I just went on and on about Harry Potter!

Well, I'm off to bed!

hi'ya

just a quick little check in before I'm off to work this morning. Last night was so crazy at work, then my sister called on my way home (which scared the you know what out of me because of the time), my cell phone died, so I had to call her back when I got home. So, needless to say by the time the conversation ended, I crashed.

So, I will catch up later-----because my Christmas light outing is cancelled for tonight (hence my sister's call last night). Too bad---I was looking forward to it. We are going to try again next Wed. Evidentally my cousin forgot about a rehearsal her daughter has tonight and my nephew is once again ill---I'll tell more about that later.

But-----I just have to share my favorite lines from ELF----

for those who have not seen it yet-----it is just downright silly funny!!!!!

1) "Bye Buddy, hope you find your dad"----(not so much the line, but just the way the little animal says it)

2) "Did you hear that??"----(said after the belching scene)

3) "Watch out, the yellow ones don't stop"

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I guess since I have the driest sense of humor EVER, I love this movie!! It's so silly.

Which brings me to my next point----WARNING!!!!

The Christmas cards I chose are a reflection of my dry sense of humor. Hope not to offend anyone. I think they're hilarious. :confused3 :confused3 :teeth:

All in fun.

I'm off-----to work-----have a good day-----I'll chat at ya'll later!!

Good morning Cliqueless Crew!!! I'm sorry breakfast is a little later this morning; I hit the snooze button one time too many!!(..and I've having major problems with typos!)
I've made a Denver omelet this morning, hope you all enjoy!!! :goodvibes
(Sorry lyzziesmom, I'm running out of ideas without eggs.)

Denver%20Omelet.jpg

I hope everyone has a Fantasmic Friday!!!! :wizard:

I had to go back to read last night's posts. Now, I must post April's itinerary!!
Let's see what our little mouseketeer is going to be up to today!!! :)

Friday 12/15
Magic Kingdom in the morning
MGM in the evening with dinner at Hollywood Brown Derby
_________________________________________________________________

I'm sure April is going to have a fun day today!!!

I've got to run get ready for work.............

lyzziesmom:: Yeah!!! You got more presents wrapped!!! :woohoo:

Lin:: I didn't get your card yet, but I live in a rural area, will probably take an extra day. Don't work too hard this weekend!!

YourMajesty:: The boys' new clothes sound really nice. Sometimes it's hard for me to buy Nathan pants. Have fun at your party tomorrow!!!

2x2s:: I'm sorry your nephew is sick again. I hope they find out what is wrong.

Better run!!!!!!!!!! :moped: Talk to you all later!!!

Good morning!!

Donna, breakfast looks good once again! However, before I take a bite I have to ask what is in the Denver Omelet and was it made in Denver? :confused3

I am going to try to get my cards done today and mailed out tomorrow. I have to pick out my favorite recipes to send. :thumbsup2

Dh woke up this morning feeling like I did the last few days. It must be some kind of bug. :guilty:

Donna...I like the idea of the movie gift cards for the cub scouts.

2x2...Sorry to hear your nephew is ill again.

Gotta run! Madison is up early this morning excited about tonight. She wants to practice her lines and her Christmas carols. Those should be fun this early!

TGIF! Have a great Friday everyone!

Good Morning IT'S FRIDAY!!!

I am bummed, I just got an email saying the Indiana Jones box set I ordered for Mike was cancelled. Why can't they track their inventory better? I may just get it elsewhere (and pay double :guilty: )

One good note, the watch box did ship. I was worried, because I didn't get a order confirmation email and when I tried to look up the order online, nothing came up. I spoke to a CM who assured me I would have the item before Christmas. Now, I just have to hope it comes in one piece and the personalization is correct.

Lin and lyzziesmom, my hair is the same way. It's so thick and does whatever it wants. Mike likes it short, but then I risk looking like a mushroom.

2x2s, I love those lines too. I don't think there's a bad line that whole movie. I love the humor (although, I am the only person I know that finds Ishtar hysterical, so what do I know)

My plans for this weekend are shopping and making candy. I can't wait to try the chocolate popcorn.

Morning, cliqueless!

Yummy omelet, Donna! Chalk another winner up for our morning cook!

Lin - got your card yesterday!! I loved the puppies' pic... awww... and silly me - I forgot to include a recipe!! D'oh!
question for you - are there Disney 'perks' for working at TDS? (referring to your purple pass) Erin resigned from her job and that's where she wants to go to work. She'd be really happy if she knew there were benefits other than it simply being Disney.

Angela - that peppermint bark recipe is a different spin on it - I've never seen it like that! May have to try it, though. Usually it's one or two layers of chocolate topped with crushed candy canes. Sounds good.

Amber - that stinks about the IJ set!

YM - shopping went great - considering it was all done from my desk! (I get to shop at work!) But I was disappointed a couple times yesterday when I went out to get things - did anyone know Best Buy doesn't have the same prices in their stores as online?? I did OK, though. Still have just an eensie-weensie bit left to do. And wait for more 'stuff' to arrive on my doorstep.

"Bye Buddy, hope you find your dad"----
DD says that ALL THE TIME! cracks me up. I may have to pick that movie up for her for Christmas. LOVE that movie.

2X - more pixiedust: for your nephew. Sorry to hear he's sick again.

Looks like plans for some of you are similar to mine this weekend - a little shopping, a little baking, and I have to go to a brunch 'mixer' tomorrow for my DH's company at a country club.

Good Morning!

Thanks for the omelet Donna.

2X- :grouphug: I hope your nephew gets better.

Amber- That's too bad about the Indiana Jones set.

My plans for the weekend are baking my cake, finishing up my Christmas shopping, and going to the Trans Siberian orchestra concert on Sunday.

Have a great Friday everyone!

Good morning everyone!

:cheer2: It's Friday :cheer2:

Today I'm going to finish cleaning the house since my in-laws are coming into town tonight. We were going to do a family night at the movies but my DH woke up not feeling so hot so that may be put on hold. :confused3 Tomorrow is my niece's birthday party. I have 2 presents left to wrap. We have a Christmas program at our church on Sunday that I'm part of. Once that is done, I'm through with the Christmas chores and can just relax and enjoy the Holiday! :)

2x- I hope Luca gets better soon or they find out what's going on.

Donna-- Thanks for the omlet. I'm partial to Denver omlets myself ;)

Well, have a great Friday everyone!

I hope you enjoy the Trans Siberian Orchestra! I would love to go to one of the concerts.

I'm having my morning coffee, then I'm going to pile the girls gifts together to make sure one doesn't have way more gifts than the other. I do that every year on Christmas eve when it's too late to do anything.

Happy weekend baking everyone! :)

Hey cliqueless chicas!! How is everyone this fine Friday morning?

I have been SO SWAMPED with everything lately. Lots of work stuff, trying to get all the Christmas shopping done, shopping for the kids’ school Christmas parties, more work stuff……

We had our department Christmas lunch/party yesterday. Everyone brought “snack” type food. So, I volunteered to bring sausage balls. I make great sausage balls. But it is a time consuming thing. I have to mix the ingredients the night before and then wake up at 4:30 in the morning to start baking them. But they turned out great.

I have all my Cliqueless Christmas cards all ready to send……but I haven’t gotten around to buying stamps to mail them. I HAVE to do that today.

I also have SO MANY errands I need to do today. I have to go to the bank, I need to go to the post office, need to go to Best Buy, I’d like to go to Sears, plus I have to go to UPS,

DW works for the Federal Government, and they have what is called “The Canteen”. They bring all this stuff to their building – Ipods, TVs, tools, toys, etc. – and they can shop right there. And when they buy it, they can have it taken directly out of their paycheck over several pay periods. Plus, since it is government, it is tax free.

She is going to look for and IPod for Colton and Chase today.

Well……..I MUST return to my work now……something about deadlines……
:confused3

Mornin' y'all! (that was a little tribute our travelin' pal, April.) TGIF!!! Must get some work done, so quick recap:

Lin: HP = not embarassing.

Donna: thanks for breakfast. I'll just have the toast. Someone else can have my omelette.

2x: more prayers for Luca. :grouphug:

Amber: mushroom hair = hilarious! I totally can relate. Too bad about the Indiana Jones set, that stinks.

Nicole: have fun at the concert!

DznyFan: that mixer sounds like a blast!

Yolanda: relax & enjoy... good plan!

pozey: sausage balls! :rotfl: My juvenile sense of humor is reminded of South Park & Chef's chocolate salty balls. I like that Canteen idea.

Lyzzie is sad that her packages have not arrived from her grandparents & dad yet. They are Jewish and so Lyzzie likes to "celebrate" Hanukkah by opening a gift from them every night. They send more than enough - too much if you ask me. We will have to stop that tradition though because Emma is getting old enough to be jealous and I am just not that rich to buy her enough to make it equal. Plus, we aren't Jewish!! I - I mean SANTA - already buy Emma more because Lyzzie gets so much more from her extended family (6 boxes this year - that I know of!), and Emma has no other family in her life. It's getting out of hand.

Yeah, I have one of them juvenile senses of humor as well........

My thought always goes to the Saturday Night Live sketch with Alec Baldwin...... :lmao: :rotfl2:

Well.......DW just called.......I'm gonna need a fainting smiley here........

She bought both Colton and Chase an 8 Gig Ipod Nano!! EACH!! (where's that fainting smile?) Yikes!!

Lyzziesmom and Pozey - :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: I remember both the Chocolate salty balls and the Schwetty balls! Yeah.... my mind is usually in the gutter.

Pozey - 2 8GB iPods???? :scared1: I bought one 4GB and still scoured the earth for the best deal I could find. Most definitely need a fainting smilie.
