Hi,Crew!!! First off I must apologize to pozey...Where is my head??? I can't believe I forgot his birthday!!!

Happy Birthday, pozey!!!

PirateShip.jpg

Donna: you make the best cyber-cakes. Which reminds me....

Nicole: I'd love to see a picture of your cake with roses on it! I tried to do roses with icing before, it was really hard!

pozey: That robot does sound pretty cool. Especially the rude noises part! (teeth smiley!)

I had a lovely surprise in my mailbox today - my Disney travel documents!! I completely forgot that with the package, I get a free round of miniature golf. I'd love to be able to fit that in, but I have no idea when there would be time. There's also a voucher good for $15 worth of food at Planet Hollywood. We don't have enough days to eat everywhere we want to!! There's a voucher for a free PhotoPass picture too, but it's only redeemable at the parks, not online. Hmmmm, the whole thing I love about PhotoPass is that you can wait to look at your pictures once you get home & don't have to wait in line. I suppose I can stop by though, since it's free and all.

Did anyone else get their documents yet?

I can't wait to see the roboreptile in action. there is a video on this link:

http://www.amazon.com/Wow-Wee-Inter.../104-8193086-4634336?ie=UTF8&s=toys-and-games
wonder if it makes any noises. He will love that!!!

Emma is so adorable!!! Can I pull your finger off:rotfl: Sounds like you got some great goodies w/your package. I think I've received everything I should. :confused3 If not, oh well...I have my online docs.

Donna...I love that cake!!! Kenny would love a cake like that!!

Mike has a new obsession:sad2: this being retired stuff is too expensive. He's been on all these auctions buying nascar die cast cars...he got 12 today:eek: I told him to quit, he needs to save for Disney!!!

OK, I've got dinner started.....now where was I??

Lin:: Good to hear from you!!! What a busy bee you were!!! After all your activity, I'm impressed you could even post!!!
icon10.gif

Welcome back!!

Amber:: How great that you're getting a new camera!!! I'm not much of a photographer at all, but I love seeing everyone post their pics!!!

Nicole:: Your cake/roses sounds pretty impressive!! I'd love to see a picture of your handywork!!

lyzziesmom:: A good looking visitor this morning, huh?:woohoo: The coffee suggestion sounds like a perfect idea!!
Oh that Emma!!! Wanting to pull you finger off!!!:rotfl2: What a sweet little angel!!!

DznyFan:: How terrific that you've got a couple of trips in the planning!!!:dance3:
I hope Erin gets to feeling better soon. That's awful that she had to get sick on her first day back to school!!

pozey:: I'm with the others; hope your cubicle from heck is VERY temporary!!! Happy belated birthday once again!!
Nathan saw the pic of Chase's Robosapien and immediately had me go back so he could look some more!! He's wanted one for a long time, but I was kind of like lyzziesmom, I wasn't sure exactly what they did!!

Ashley:: How's it going Chickie?? I've missed you...spending time with the hubby??? Oh, young love!!!:) I love your pics. Your aunts look like they could be your sisters!! That pic of Jeremiah with the maniquin (sp?) is priceless!! Looks like something Gary would do!! I have a pic of him with a Jessica Rabbit life-sized stand-up at MGM that cracks me up every time I look at it!!:rotfl2:
Aww!!! Ruby looks adorable as a princess!!princess:

Linda:: Kenny's new Roboreptile sounds pretty cool!! I'm sure he'll love it!!
Gary is into HO Scale racing!! If he doesn't get at least one package in the mail each day he can hardly stand it!!!

Today was Nathan's first day back to school. I was proud of him; he didn't give me too much grief at all about getting up and going to school!!:teacher:

DH is wanting me to take our small laptop to WDW, but I have been hedging about dragging it along since I'll be by myself. I still haven't decided on whether or not I'm taking it.:confused3

I'm going to post this now because it's getting sooo long!!

OH MY GOODNESS!!!!!!!!!

I have got to share with you guys!!!

I just got off the phone with my cousin (she's actually my second cousin, my mom's first cousin anyway) I sent out we've moved cards and so I sent one to her and her twin sister and she called me tonight, I just got off the phone with her and guess what??????

I have two cousins w/in 20 minutes of me in two different directions!!! I am just amazed and think this is soooooo cool!!! She called me and was like, I can't believe you went down there too and you all are so close! She was like, "How do three people from the same family end up in the same place??"

I don't know but I'm just thinking this is soooo coool!!

Can you believe it? Can you tell how excited I am????

OK, here's the family history (which would explain why I didn't know about my cousins' whereabouts).

These are my mom's firt cousins. So, I know them but it's not like we were super close. When I was in my teens I've babysat for both of them. Well, I got older and moved away from the hometown (but I was still living in N.J.) but then I met my husband and we were living in Delaware. So, occasionally we'd see everyone at weddings and funerals. You know how it goes. Well, I know my one cousin moved to Ohio because he was a preacher. As far as I knew my other cousin still lived w/ his wife in N.J.

Well, come to find out my cousin Kelly (he's a guy, the preacher) moved to Anderson which is like 20-30 minutes from here and has a church there. And my other cousin Steven moved to Westminster which is about 20-25 minutes the other way from here. Steven and I are right in the middle. My cousin, who called tonight, said if she had gotten our "Just moved" card she would have made sure she stopped in to see us when she was just down here visiting her brother and my other cousin (who is her first cousin and closer to her in age)!!

I guess my cousin called her yesterday to get our address (she didn't have it with her) because he was going to come look for us.

Isn't this just amazing??? I have FAMILY here!!! I am just in shock!! :cloud9: How cool is that? I mean really, what are the chances that all three of us would find our way down here to the same area?? I just think this is soo cool.

OK, I think you all get it. I'll stop now. :cutie:

April, that is so wonderful that you have family so close!! :cool1:

It's good to know you and Steven won't be down there in South Carolina all by yourselves!!:goodvibes

April that is really exciting to have family so close to you!! Darin's best friend from college lived in Anderson and we went there a few times, it's really pretty. They have since moved down here and we haven't been back.:sad2: How are the Clemson job prospects going for you two?

:bday: Happy Birthday, Pozey!! :bday:[/CENTER]

Hope you had a great day.

DznyFan:: Hope Erin is feeling better.

Ashley:: Those pictures are hilarious(ok, mainly the one of your DH)!! :rotfl: I had to call Steven in to see that one of Jeremiah. That is just too funny.
Ruby looks just like a princess! princess:

lyzziesmom:: That Emma is just too cute. The more stories I hear from her, the more I think, "Ah, a girl after my own heart." Like when you told this story, "This morning Emma burst into big huge crocodile tears, crying, "Oh NOOOOOO!" because she couldn't stab her waffle with her fork." I've had moments just like this and I'm ahem 32. And then there will be times that Steven and I are just snuggling and cuddling on the couch, watching t.v. and I'll see a hair growing out of his neck, or I'll see a bump and just out of nowhere I go for the kill, pulling the hair, picking the bump. Totally catches him off guard. :scared1: :lmao:

I know. And really, what are the chances??? I know you all must think I'm nuts just finding this out but we just weren't close. Ya' know? :cutie: I'm just <insert my mom's name here> daughter. :cutie: (I think I'm going to use this as my new big toothy grin until they get our old one back.) Anyway, I just think it's so neat. What a pleasant surprise.

I just can't believe it!!

Well, I haven't heard anything about the one I applied for. It closed Dec. 19th but I figure I probably won't hear anything until after the holidays. Steven's job prospect originally closed on the 15th of Dec. but then they sent him an email stating that they had reopened the job until 1/07/07. My first thought was that they didn't feel they received qualified applicants but I'm hoping that's not the case but truly, Steven was very qualified for the position. I'm hoping they just extended it because of the holidays. Today, Steven applied for another position w/ the City of Clemson. That job closes on the 16th. Then the lady said they'd probably take a week after that to review the apps and then they'd start calling people.

I'm going to go to the hospital tomorrow and see what openings they have and I'm looking at the website of another hospital in the area. My background is in clerical/administrative assistance/reception/customer service. I really want to try and stay away from the customer service focused jobs.

...... sorry, sister called and I've been on the phone with her for the past hour  ........... I was telling her the news

Customer service as in, people call in complaining and I've got to try and calm them down and fix their problem. Or be the bearer of bad news when I can't fix their problem.

I really, really want the job with Clemson or another state agency. I'm not asking for too much am I? <insert big toothy grin here>

I'd say the MOST important thing to me in a job (beside job satisfaction) is flexible time, time off. Now before I go on, let me say I am VERY American!! My blood bleeds red, white and blue
flag_usa.gif
but I think America's policy on time off is sorely lacking. American employers are not required to give you any time off from work. Christmas? Nope. Thanksgiving? Uh-uh. Your two weeks (if your lucky) vacation a year? Not that either. This time off is not protected by any laws and you do not have the "right" to have these times off. Most employers do give you these days/times off but they don't have to.
Our British cousins are afforded with 4 to 6 weeks of vacation a year (how do you think they have the time to come to Disney :cutie: ) and Germany gets at least that much, heck even China is given 15 mandatory days a year but American employers are not required to give us any. They do, and that's good but they aren't required too.

I would like to work for a state agency or federal position where you are at least given 3 weeks of vacation time and almost just as much sick time.

Time off is important to me. That's why I frequent a website http://www.timeday.org/ called Take Back Your Time.

And a really great article that really got me thinking in this direction can be found here:http://bernie.house.gov/documents/articles/20030814173354.asp It's called Ahh, Free at La -- Oops! Time's Up by Joe Robinson and he runs the work to live campaign http://www.worktolive.info/

But, that's besides the point. For the time being though, I'm going to take what I can get as far as a job goes. And fight the good fight.

Hey guys!!!

I'm glad you all thought that picture of Jeremiah was funny. I thought so, but I have a weird sense of humor (like you guys dont know this already!!!!) (insert big toothy grin here!!!)

I love that milk carton thing Angela & April have in their sigs- can I steal that from you guys??

Tonight we went to Wal-Mart and got some fish. It was kind of a spur of the moment decision since Jeremiah decided he wanted them all of a sudden. :confused3 It's all set up now- they look really cute!!! I named them Walter, Olive, Jerome and Walter #2 (couldn't think of another name) pirate:

Tomorrow is Jeremiah's first day back to work since we've been home. It's kind of scary because his company just filed Chapter 11 last week. :scared1: They are saying they want to stay in business but I'm really worried. He's going to get on the ball with his resumes but just keep us in your prayers that he keeps his job or finds a better one, will ya?

 For sure, I'll keep you in my prayers. I totally understand. Steven and I are trying to secure jobs at the present so I know all about trying to get those resumes updated and sent out. Good luck, to Jeremiah! :wizard:

Oh, and yes you can steal my milk carton. I stole it from Donna who I think got it from another thread. I say get the word out about this missing little guy!! :>D

Good morning, Crew!!! It's supposed to be a warmer day here in Illinois!!:woohoo: Could Spring be right around the corner??? I'm afraid not, but we can enjoy the milder days when we get them!!:)
Want to join me at the Grand Floridian for breakfast??

grandflorbuffet2.jpg

I hope everyone has a Thoroughly Magical Thursday!!!

ETA:: I've got to go; I'm running late this morning!!! It's going to be a beautiful day!!!

Good Morning All!

Ashley, lots of :wizard: with Jeremiah's job situation. Those pictures were too funny.

April, as soon as I read your story I started sining "It's a Small World". It's nice that you have relatives so close. Good luck with your job search. I agree that the US needs better time off laws. Canada and England get a YEAR off for maternity leave!! My company doesn't give any (you have to use vacation or not be paid :guilty: )

Well, I had to take Leary (pug) to the vet this morning. Somehow he ripped the top of his head off! :scared1: Between his ears is a big sore with some hair sticking out :scared: I feel so bad for him, but it's the second time he's done it (once was 3 years ago). No one knows how he did it. It doesn't look like he scraped it on anything. :confused3 I should be able to pick him up later.

No doubt he'll be in my prayers!

Good morning everyone!

Sorry I went AWOL. Works been a little crazy this week, and Keagan is trying to get back into the school thing, etc..

Pozey-- Happy (late) Birthday! Keagan's grandparents got him the roboreptile for Christmas. It is pretty cool but it totally terrorizes our cat. He hates the thing. It's kind of like a robotic pet. You have to "feed" it and let it rest and such.

Ashley-- Good luck to Jeremiah on his job search!

Amber-- Hope Leary is ok.

Nicole-- your cake sounds pretty.

Lyzziesmom-- I hope you are writing down all the cute things your girls are saying! It's so fun to look back on stuff like that.

Well, I've got work to do this morning and then I'm going to sit down and make Keagan's birthday party invitations this afternoon. We're doing a Pirate party at our local aquarium, so I'm making message in a bottle invitations. I'm typing up a piratey (is that a word?) sound invite on brown paper that I've put a map on and then rolling it up and putting it inside plastic bottle's with a little sand, seashells, and "treasure." Then I'm making pirate labels to go on the front of the bottle with the kids name on it. Hopefully they turn out cute!

Donna- Thanks for breakfast :)

Well, beter run! Hi everyone I missed! Have a great day!

Good Morning!

Thanks for breakfast Donna!

April- That's great you have your cousins so close to you! And I'm with you on the whole time off thing!

Amber- Wow, I didn't know that Canada and England got a whole year off for maternity leave! Poor Leary!

Ashley- :grouphug: for Jeremiah's job situation. I love the names of your fishies!:fish:

Lyzziesmom- Yay! You got your documents!:cool1: Emma is too cute!

Yolanda- I like the theme of Keagan's party!pirate:

Maybe I'll have to put the smilie milkbox carton in my siggy too! (teeth smilie)

Hey guy and gals!!!

I haven't had a chance to go back and read all of the posts but just wanted to check in and say HI!!!

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY TO POZEY OUR MAN!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry I missed your birthday----I hope you had a good day!!!

I can't stay long (it seems my time is getting shorter and shorter here lately:sad1: )----I have a report to go over for work. I will try to catch up this weekend.

Well, Convention Cliquers-----I finally booked my flight this morning.:cheer2: I had a little setback last Friday when I found out that my treatment protocol was miscommunicated to me and ****sigh**** there was a chance I would have had to cancel. But, I got it all worked out and I'M GOING!!!!:dance3:
I will explain later.

And----Lyzziesmom---I will PM my cell # this weekend, as well. Thanks for compiling this list.

Ash---I did read about Jeremiah's job-----keeping both of you in my prayers.

April: It really IS a small world after all!! That's great that you have family so close, I think I remember you being worried about not knowing anyone. Add me to the list of people who agree that we don't get enough time off. My philosophy is, if employers are good to their employees, the employees will be more productive. Treat them like worker bees and they will just get stung.

2x: YAY for booking your flight!! I'm so glad you are able to come! What are your flight times? I know we had thought we might end up on the same ME bus... if we arrive close together we can meet up in the airport somewhere? Same goes for anyone else arriving around 10:40am.

Linda: When do you leave for your cruise? Was it Sunday morning?

Donna: That breakfast looks soooo good!!

That reminds me, Conventionears: What time does everyone want to do the breakfasts at WDW?? Do we prefer early breakfasts, or later, more like a brunch?

1900 Park Fare serves breakfast from 8am - 11:30am. Since that will be on (most of) our last day, I was thinking it should be pretty early. However, it is also the day after the P&P party, so maybe not TOO early, since we still need transportation time to get there. Those of us without cars (which I think will be all of us?) will need to catch a bus somewhere & transfer to the GF. In the past I've gone to MK and then monorailled it over to GF, works wonderfully as the mono is empty in the morning going TO a resort. Anyway, the parks open that day at 9, which means the buses should start running around 7:30-8:00. The question is: should we have breakfast early (8:30ish) or a little later (10ish)? I'm leaning towards early. I know this particular breakfast usually takes quite some time, and I'd like to have some time in a park before going home that day.

Second breakfast question: Kona on Sunday. Linda, will you still be around? What time do we all want to do Kona? Breakfast is 7:30am-11:30am. I was thinking later for this one, since we don't have any other meals planned for that day it could be more of a brunch. What do you guys think? 11ish? The parks all open at 9 (no morning EMH's that day), so perhaps we could do an hour or two in a park and then break for brunch. Unless Linda is leaving that day & wants to join us, then it could be earlier.

Whew, I swear I've been planning out times & itineraries in my sleep! I love this part though. I'm already getting the post-WDW blues, just thinking about how it will all be over so soon. Am I crazy or what??

sewer: Nice to see you drop in again! Doesn't Donna make the best cyber-breakfasts??

Yolanda: those invitations sound fabulous! I'd be very impressed to receive something like that, it would make me really look forward to the party. Your DS is one lucky boy!!

Oh, I was also thinking... Didn't someone try for a later ADR at LeCellier? If not, I could take care of that whenever I call for the other ADRs. After thinking about it, I'd really prefer later since Epcot has evening EMH on Friday.
