Who here is not in the "clique" like me? Part 3

It was only the 2nd time I'd eaten there - we never seem to go as DH doesn't like the wait - but DD and I got right in. No fajitas - we split a HUGE order of nachos, and I had a tamale ala carte and she had an enchilada ala carte. We hardly made a dent in the nachos, and both of us walked away stuffed. It is SO good!
If your DH doesn’t like the wait, then your might try what we do. I will go in and put our name in. The hostess will tell me how long the wait will be – something like 35 – 45 minutes. Then, we will run down to Target or Kohl’s or some place about a mile or so away. Or run any other errands that we may have. That usually takes about half an hour. Then, when we get back, I’ll just go up to the hostess and ask where we are in line. Usually we time it pretty well where we are within 5 – 10 minutes of being seated.

It’s our way of “call ahead seating”. Except we don’t “call ahead” we just go by and put our name down.

I'm not even going to try to catch up with everyone, except to say HI!

Ashley: yes, please let me know when you get your trip booked. Lyzzie is looking forward to meeting you!

Cancer - my brother was diagnosed about 5 years ago with leukemia, and he was given a 20% chance that he would survive 5 years. He has been in remission now for a couple years, but it was touch & go for a while there. He still has a lot of problems w/his knee bones from the chemo, and doesn't walk well. About a year after he was diagnosed, my grandma was diagnosed with the SAME form of leukemia. I am always afraid that I'll be next, every time I have the littlest something wrong it scares me a lot more than it used to. With my brother, it began with a persistent stomach ache.

Linda: Did you win the jackpot!

I am pretty sure I'm smarter than a 5th grader, but with my luck if I went on the show I'd get a history or geography question - my two worst subjects - and it would make me look like an idiot.

Am I too late for a cookie or three?

Yesterday it was so nice outside, the girls played outside in the backyard before dinner. They tossed frisbees around, drew hopscotch w/sidewalk chalk, rode bikes on the back patio and just generally had a good time. 20 minutes after dinner, it started storming complete with baseball-sized hail, and this morning it was snowing! I will never figure out Kansas City weather.

I told Lyzzie about the May trip and she is very excited. Emma heard us talking about it, and said, "Are you guys talking about Disney World?" Oops, I didn't think she was listening!

AI - I hope Antonella goes home tonight. The girl just irritates me, and she sounded horrible last night! I really like that Haley girl but I have a feeling she will go home soon, they judges didn't like her much. Lyzzie still likes Melinda Doolittle and she likes Jordin Sparks because "she is pretty" and she sang the song from Mulan. I still haven't watched the boys from Tuesday, we missed it while we were at the Wiggles show but I heard they did better than last week.

I've got a ton of end-of-the-month stuff I should be doing, but I really don't feel like it.

lyzziesmom...I wish I could look it up and check but here at work it's sensored b/c it gambling:laughing: oh please!

:bored: What's this....everyone working today?:rolleyes1

Well I'm off to take miss craby, I mean Madison to the doctor. I'll check back later!

I'm here.

I keep looking at weather.com, because I am convinced that tornados are going to come. I am TERRIFIED of storms, especially tornados. :guilty: We are under a flood watch (which is just great, because my kitchen STILL leaks when we have heavy storms :sad2: ) I read that isolated tornados are possible. :scared1: What am I going to do?!?! I'm just a little nerotic.

I don't know how people live in the midwest; I would be a nervous wreck and spend all my time in the ground. Somehow though I think I'd be fine in FL, even with hurricanes. :confused3

Amber: I lived in TX for 2 years, never saw a tornado except for some swirling clouds overhead one time. There was a house in the next neighborhood over that was destroyed by a tornado, but it didn't touch any other house, just the one. And then of course I was in S. FL for 15 years, I had also lived in Orlando for 2 years, and I never went through a serious hurricane. We did live there during Hurricane Andrew in 1992, but it hit quite a bit farther south than where we lived, and I was on my way to Orlando for college so I completely missed it. And then in my 5 years in KS so far, I have never seen a tornado here either. The funny thing is, Lyzzie's grandparents who live in FL were horrified when they learned I'd be moving to KS with their granddaughter, they kept asking if I was afraid of tornadoes. This coming from people who have lived most of their lives in hurricane country, which in my opinion are much more devastating than tornadoes! Their reasoning: at least you know when a hurricane is coming.

Last night we had a lot of tornado warnings during the storms, and the girls were afraid to go to sleep. Lyzzie was especially afraid, because they kept interrupting AI with weather updates and she is old enough to understand them. She kept asking me "What county do we live in?" and "Where are we on that map?" I had to keep reassuring her that yes, we were in the red area on the map, but the tornadoes were much farther south. I was mostly afraid of losing power, and my alarm clock being reset. I'm such a smart cookie, I set my cell phone to ring in the morning just in case - and then didn't need it.

I went to Target during lunch (why do I keep doing that?) just to get one thing... yeah right. The entire scrapbooking aisle was on clearance and I went crazy! Now I will definitely have to find time to work on some scrapbooking, because I picked up a whole bunch of really cute stuff and I can't wait to start using it.

:bored: What's this....everyone working today?:rolleyes1

Hey Lesa...we can compare notes this evening. I'm taking DS for sinus/skin (rash) problems.:rolleyes1 Hope Madison gets to feeling better and you don't have a repeat from last night.:flower3:

Hello to all my cliqueless friends. I'm a tad behind. I'm at work today but I don't think I posted yesterday either. I wasn't feeling too great yesterday and took a nap before picking up the kiddos.:cloud9:

Sweet toot...drip beef sandwiches are one of my favorite dinners. Everyone is happy with that dinner! I made BBQ pork sandwiches yesterday and that went over well too.

Donna...I thanks for the yummy breakfast today (and yesterday);) Hope you don't get blown away today. We have very high winds once again.

Hey Michele...another busy night?:goodvibes :goodvibes

Pozey...I called about the clinic...FINALLY. It's very pricy...or at least I thought so. Do they have a good reputation? I was a little worried when she said they don't have limit on the number? If I did a three day camp (9-4 each day) I think they said $217:eek: I thought you might have some inside info?:cool2:

Hey DznyFan...enjoying the wind today. Is Erin hanging in there? Less than two weeks.:yay: Glad you enjoyed your dinner at Ted's last night.

Well I better get back to work...more catching up this evening.:)

Lesa: I totally forgot to say that I hope Madison feels better soon. It's no fun having sick kids. I'm so lucky that my kids have never vomited - I can't stand to clean it up!! I'm such a baby about these things.

The other day we had a spider on the wall above Lyzzie's bed - she of course freaked out, and Emma just wanted me to pick her up so she could touch it. I ended up smacking it with a flyswatter, but I'm not sure if I killed it because as soon as I saw it curl up & fall off the wall, I ran screaming from the room and had to run around the house a few times yelling & shaking all over. Emma thought it was hilarious and still tells everyone about how Mommy hit the spider with a "net" and how it was funny. I told Lyzzie yes I'm sure it is dead, but actually I have no idea because I was way too freaked out to check.

watch those spiders lyzziesmom!!!

I had to laugh and tell on myself..I was logging in on something here at work... where I should type my password...I start typing www.dis:rotfl: I think I just need to call it a day!

Lyzziesmom, EWWW! I hate spiders. I usually make Mike kill them.

YM and Lesa, I hope the kids feel better soon. :wizard:

Lyzziesmom- I sure hope that spider is dead! On Tuesday I was on the phone with a customer and out of no where a beetle(?) popped up onto my desk. I wanted to scream but since I had a customer on the phone, didn't. So I swished it. And I then told my coworker about it and she said that she had seen it earlier but didn't kill it because it fell on the floor and the carpet is brownish and it blended in. *shudder* I'm just glad it wasn't a roach!

ewwww... spiders. My true phobia.

YM - you know, I haven't even been outside today! I had no idea it was windy... And I don't have a window office. Thanks for the warning, though!

Good morning everyone!

Well, it snowed here yesterday and I woke up to a blamy 16 degrees! BRRRR! That should make it fun lugging all our luggage at the airport this morning. We are off for my husbands final interview thing in a couple of hours. Wish us luck! They are having him meet all the staff. This is feeling real!

Oh, can I ask for some prayers for my mom? She was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer 2 years ago, and after radiation and several surgeries, all seemed to be well. But this week a funny pain showed up and they are doing some tests. We are hoping that all the tests come back fine and that everything is fine. Anyway, I'm kind of worried, and we are looking at moving away, and... well anyway, your thoughts and prayers are appreciated.

Lyzziesmom-- :cool1: a trip to WDW!!!!!

Have a great weekend everyone! I'll "see" you on Monday!

Good luck this weekend! How fun to start over with a new job and new house!

Prayers for your mom!!

Good morning everyone at least I hope it is for everyone else!

I'm going to pass on breakfast this morning, but I sure could use a venti white chocolate mocha, triple shot extra, hot hold the whip cream! Anyone care to join me?

It was a rough night! I guess Madison woke up in the middle of the night and had thrown up in her bed. Well I didn't know that part DH got up with her. Soon after I got up to go potty and stepped in a nice wet pile of stuff. Turn on the light and yep you guessed it! Apparently she got up by herself at one point and then went back to bed.:guilty: After I got it cleaned up, searched the house for the Lysol, sprayed everything down :scared: I mean everything ;) I had to deal with the dog racing around like a maniac because I sprayed something and she cannot resist the urge to stick her nose in it. Of course she didn't like what she smelled so she went nuts.:headache: I finally get back in bed, fall asleep and am awoke by a huge flashing light and big Boom at 3:30. It scared the crap out of me and I jumped out of bed,:rolleyes1 as who the heck new we would have a big thunderstorm in 30 degree weather.:confused3 So finally at about 5:50 I'm guessing because that was the last time I looked at the clock, I fell back asleep. That only lasted until 6:00 when DH alarm went off and soon after that Madison was up.:sad2:

O.k. whine over, you can go back to your regularly scheduled day!

Poor Lesa and poor Maddie!! Do you mean David got up with her but didn't clean up the mess?!?!

I have lived in MI my whole life and have never seen a tornado here. I saw one in Ontario when I was younger and a few years ago we were in Epcot and all these people were standing around the lagoon filming the sky...so naturally I did too...there was a funnel cloud swirling above us...it was cool until they gathered everyone up and made us go in to HISTA to sit on the floor and wait it out. They were calling kids up to the front where the mike is to tell jokes.

Sorry you are at work...:sad2: I just got home a little while ago...now I have cleaning, laundry and shopping to do...I think I'd rather be at work;)

Last night was easy for all of us except my dad. He asked if he could come over and help. I went to bed and he made Briana go to bed, too. He took care of Lilly all night!! He's the best!!!:cloud9:

When Blake and I were first married and I would see a bug, I would use the hose attachment on the vacuum and suck up the bugs!! Then I started to think that they could crawl out so I would put the vacuum on the back porch til Blake got home and make him change the bag!!:rotfl:

Lyzziesmom…….you sure have traveled all over. From Texas to south Florida to central Florida and now to Kansas.

What’s your story?

Me……I was born in Okeechobee, Florida. My dad had retired from professional rodeo and moved to Florida to run the Okeechobee Livestock Yards. I don’t recall the exact year that he and my mom moved to Florida, but my older brother by 3 years was born in Oklahoma, but me and my younger brother (by 5 years) were born in Florida.

We eventually moved back to Oklahoma, and dad ran his cattle ranch here. I’ve been here ever since. Now, my oldest brother, he moved back to Florida immediately after graduating high school and has lived there ever since.

After my dad died, my mom moved back to Florida until the last couple years of her life.

Speaking of storms……storms don’t bother me too much. I don’t really panic or get overly excited. Neither do DW or Colton. Chase, on the other hand, is terrified of storms. He hates plain old ordinary springtime thunderstorms. When we were discussing the possibility of moving to Tampa several months back, he kept asking about hurricanes. He was petrified at the thought of having to go through hurricanes.

Pozey- Have you even been to the Houston Rodeo? It just started here on Tuesday. I am so excited! I will probably go on Monday to see Josh Turner and then go back that weekend. I didn't go last year at all and was upset about it!

Michele, your dad is too sweet! Bree is so lucky to have such a supportive family!

My dad is great!! He did something similar for me when Bree was born.

I don't remember if I've told this story...when Bree was born I was doing all the night stuff since Blake had to be at work early. At the time my dad was laid off so he started coming over in the morning after Blake had left for work. He took care of Bree so I could get a few hours sleep and a shower. That was a Godsend!! He did this for 6 weeks!! He was finally called back to work. The first night it was going to be just the 2 of us in the morning...was the first night she slept thru the night!!
