Hi lizzysmom! DL HM is pretty much the same as WDW's, but the facade of WDW's is much nicer, in my opinon. I like them both though. And I always thought WDW was much more expensive than DL. The park tickets to WDW is more expensive, I know that.
Sorry your back is hurting. What's wrong with it?
At first glance, DL does seem a lot cheaper. But then you add in the travel expenses, the rental car, the hotels which are pricier, no dining plan available... it ends up to be a lot more for me somehow. My back... I just had an MRI to try to figure out what the problem is. I have sciatica caused by arthritis in my lower back/pelvic area, and SI joint disorder, and I have had a couple procedures involving numbing the nerves with no results, so now they are thinking there may be something else going on. So the short answer is, we don't know what's wrong with it. It just hurts all the time and I am becoming dependent on narcotic pain relievers, which isn't good. Hopefully we will get it figured out soon.
Oh...by the way....I had to lie to the people on the plane that I was talking too on the way down to our meet. You guys were old college friends...I didn't want them to think I was wierd and stop talking to me.
I told people at work that I was going to a reunion with old friends! Hey, it was mostly true... you guys are old friends (I don't mean you're old!) - we've been chatting for what? A bunch of months? That seems like a long time - and it was sort of reunion, but without the re-. I guess just a union?
Yolanda: when I was a kid, we moved every couple of years. I never lived anywhere more than 3 years until I was in high school. It is hard to adjust and leave your friends, but I'm sure your DS will be just fine. The best thing to do is move during the summer, so he won't be the only "new kid" in the middle of the school year. Somehow it's so much easier being new at the start of the year than in the middle. He sounds like a great, well-adjusted kid. Just stress to him how exciting it will be to meet new friends, and have a new teacher, and a new neighborhood to explore. With me, it always helped if I was bribed with the promise of a new pet in the new house.
Linda: 20/400 huh? That's about where I am. Even with my contacts, the best they can do for me is 20/30 in one eye and 20/40 in the other. No wonder I'm such a klutz - my depth perception is totally whacked! I have always wanted lasik and 3 eye doctors have recommended it to me, but it's just not in my budget. And I'm NOT about to give up vacations for a few years so I can afford it!! I'll just wait for my rich handsome prince to come along....

<--- (that's me waiting with my glasses on.)
Yes, we all go to U of Disney!
(thumb) You know, when I am posting in other threads around here and put the thumbs up smilie, I feel the need to put (thumb) next to it!
That's so funny, I feel the need to say (thumb) even when I do the thumbs-up in real life!! For the newcomers amongst us... sometimes we use the

to indicate a different finger, so we usually will clarify that it is indeed a thumb.
Well I'm back at work today, my back feels a lot better. Still hurts, but I can move around today without looking like a retirement home escapee who forgot her walker. I'm even wearing a skirt for the 2nd day in a row!! It got up into the 60s yesterday, it was so nice. A little cooler today, and then up to 68 tomorrow. But next week will return to winter, blah. I just wish this weather wasn't wasted on a workday, what a shame!!
