The big "What's New, What's Next" presentation that was just held this morning didn't reveal any huge surprises, but did serve to confirm at least one rumor that has been swirling around lately. The main announcement is that Toy Story Mania! will arrive at the Disney-MGM Studios in 2008, in the space formerly occupied by "Who Wants to be a Millionaire -- Play It!" The new ride, which will also open in Disney's California Adventure in the Paradise Pier section, marks the first time an attraction has been designed and built simultaneously at Disneyland Resort and at Walt Disney World. The attraction will "set a new standard" for interactive ride/game technology. When you enter the attraction, you'll be greeted by the "barker," Mr. Potato Head, who, using technology similar to that found in Epcot's "Turtle Talk with Crush," will interact with guests. Then guests of all ages will put on 3-D glasses and ride themed vehicles along a route lined with "classic midway games of skill," while shooting their toy cannons at animated targets. As you ride, you'll pass through a series of games hosted by various Toy Story characters, like Bo-Peep and the Little Green Men. The ride will also be able to determine individual users' skill levels and will increase the degree of difficulty accordingly.

Also at the presentation was famed photographer Annie Leibovitz, who was hired to photograph celebrities as Disney characters for the Year of a Million Dreams promotion. Leibovitz spoke briefly about photographing singer Beyonce as Alice in Wonderland, alongside actor Oliver Platt as the Mad Hatter and singer Lyle Lovett as the March Hare.

The biggest buzz was the announcement of a pilot program called Disney's Online Concierge. Now being tested throughout the Contemporary Resort, the program involves each room having its own computer that provides a variety of services to guests. Guests can use the computer to check on flights, order room service, play videogames, connect to Disney internet sites, and contact valet and bell services. The online concierge will also send personal emails to the guests, with information on the upcoming day's events and weather. If the program proves successful, it will be expanded and may eventually allow guests to make online reservations at Disney restaurants.

I got good news yesterday!! Our family trip is set for June. One week at OKW and one week at Vero. We were supposed to be in a 2 bedroom at both places but by the time I remembered to call for Vero at the 7 month window all I could get was 2 studios:sad2: So I waitlisted us for the 2 bedroom.

Yesterday I got a new confirmation saying that we got the 2 bd for all but the last 2 nights. :cool1: Hopefully those will come thru too and we will be all set!!

Good luck w/your ressies Michele :goodvibes

Nicole, I've read about the toy story ride before. I guess we'll have to see how it is. Kenny will probably like it. Celebs... I wouldn't recognize a lot of celebs as it is:rolleyes1

Linda: I'm like you with the celebs. I know who a lot of them are, but there are a ton that I see and I'm like, who the heck is that and why am I supposed to care? Last year in Lyzzie's class they had an assignment to write to a celebrity. Lyzzie's teacher told me Lyzzie's choice was the only one she had ever heard of, and she had a heck of a time trying to find addresses for all these celebs she never heard of! (Lyzzie chose to write to Jon Bon Jovi, and even got an autographed picture with her name on it a couple weeks later - I keep threatening to hang it over my bed!)

When we were out at dinner tonight, the waitress came by and asked if we needed a box to go, and Emma looked right at her and said, "No, I just need my ice cream!" I swear I don't know where she gets this stuff! (She did get some ice cream too.)

Next week at this time we will be heading towards LeCellier for our first Cliqueless Dinner!!

OH I am sooo MAD!! I got a speeding ticket on the way back to work after lunch. And the thing is... I see this cop car coming up behind me and about 6 other cars (who by the way have all just PASSED me going faster) so of course, I pull to the side of the road, where he pulls in right behind me! I feel like such a schmuck for being the only one to pull aside, I bet if I had kept on going like everyone else did, some other dope would have pulled to the side and gotten the ticket. I really can't afford this right now!!

Oh no! Can you do defensive driving to get out of it?

You know how some men are:rotfl2: I just thought of something... that's how I can get my DVC:rotfl:

:rotfl2: Let me know how it works! I might have to try the same!

Linda: I forgot to tell you... Emma now talks about Kenny all the time! My mom said Emma was telling her all about how she will see him at Disney World and eat his fries, and "Kenny is my favorite friend, actually." How cute is that?

A funny Lyzzie story for you guys: The other day when I got home after work with the kids, we saw that the snowman in the backyard had fallen over. This was the one we decorated with my scarf, so I asked Lyzzie to run out and retrieve the scarf while she still had her boots & coat on. I watched through the window as she ran out there and she was pulling and pulling on the end of the scarf, but it was stuck under the snowman. So she kicked the head out of the way and pulled the scarf out, and started running toward the house. But after just a few steps, she stopped, turned slowly around, ran back to the snowman, and stood there looking at it for a second. Then my sweet little Lyzziebean hauled off and kicked the snowman a good 7 or 8 times! She was just kicking and kicking, and you could tell she LOVED it!! It was the funniest thing, seeing this sweet little girl in her cute fluffy jacket, kicking the bejeepers out of a poor lying down snowman. I wish I'd had my camera handy!!

First, Linda might need to warn Kenny that he won't be eating many fries this trip! :rotfl2: But, Emma is a doll. Lyzziesmom, both your girls are the biggest sweeties! I can just picture Lyzzie kicking the poor snowman for all its worth!

It was absolutely nothing! Well not nothing, just about the Toy Story ride and something about celebs dressing up like characters.

They made a huge deal out of something so small! Whats up with that?:confused3

Um, Beyonce as Alice? How does that work? Isn't the goal to get someone who has SOME resemblance to the character?
I'm not seeing it...

Hi, Crew!!!
It'a been a busy day. The Cub Sout Pinewood Derby was tonight. Nathan's car didn't do nearly as well as his car did last year. I felt kind of sorry for him.

Yolanda:: Thanks for the tropical retreat...I needed that! Tell Keagan to have fun at his party tomorrow!!!:woohoo:

pozey:: I meant no offense to you if you've seen Dickie Roberts!!! I started all the explaining and realized that maybe Michele hadn't seen such a movie classic!!!:goodvibes

YourMajesty:: Yes, those creme horns will not only stick to your ribs, but other body parts as well!!!:rolleyes1

lyzziesmom:: Yikes!!! Sorry about the speeding ticket. The cop probably just stopped the youngest and best looking of the pack of drivers. In all seriousness, I'm sorry he singled you out.:sad1:
Lyzzie took great delight in pulverizing the snowman!!! I can just picture her out there stomping the stuffins out of poor old Frosty!!!:rotfl:
How sweet that Emma has decided Kenny is her best friend!!!I can relate, you guys are my best friends and I've never met you either!!:goodvibes

Amber:: I have confidence that Mike will be agreeable to staying at the Poly. Just smile at him and he'll be putty in your hands!!

Michele:: Terrific news about your reservations!! Here's a little pixie dust that the other days open up for the 2-bedroom!!!pixiedust:
Mickey heads for our room doors would be awesome!!!

Gee, it's getting late and I have an 8:30am eye dr. appointment!!! Hope you all have a great weekend!!

Good morning, Crew!!!! Wow! I was the last one to post last night and the first one to post this morning!!! After breakfast I'm not posting on this thread until somebody else does!!!

Hi Cliqueless!!!!

Everyone doing alright??

I just wanted to say hi before heading off the the auto show that is in town this weekend. It's not what I should be doing today, but with my lease almost up, this is a sensible way for me to look at the models that I am interested in. What I should be doing is getting my ducks in a row before we leave FRIDAY!!!!!!!!:woohoo: :woohoo: :dance3: :dance3: :cool1: :cool1:  :yay: :yay: :cheer2: :cheer2:
Sorry, got away from myself for a moment there.:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

I will try to check in later.

Have a great Saturday!!!!!

Betts----thanks for the waffles this morning!! Hit the spot!!! And yum for the creme horns yesterday!!! Those are my dad's favorite.

p.s. Linda-----I read quickly that you offered to get the "Micken" sweater for me. You are so sweet, but I don't want you to have to worry about that. I'm sure you have enough on your plate with getting Mike and Kenny ready for the trip. I'm okay with the "Moody" one even though I won't match everyone else. Thanks anyway, though!!

Donna...I should have posted last night but I was doing a little research and fell asleep. :cloud9:

Thanks for the waffles.

I see our Pin-cess has posted and me (of course) so you can come back.:rotfl:

Good morning everyone!

Thanks for the birthday wishes for Keagan! He's totally excited. Of course, it's snowing today so I hope that doesn't cause any problems for anyone coming to the party.

Lyzziesmom-- for the ticket. It's always such a terrible feeling when you realize that it's you that they are pulling over. :confused3 Nto that I would know anything about that ;) Good luck and maybe it will be reduced if you attend the court session?

The online concierge sounds kind of neat. Disney is very good at making a big "production" out of it's announcements. The new ride sounds cool to. Hmmm.. guess this means I'll have to plan a trip for 2008 as well....

Well, gotta go do party stuff. Have a great day!

Good Morning!

Thanks for breakfast Donna!

Michele- I hope you get the rooms you need!

Well, I'm off to go to run some errands. Be back later!

Nah, of course they scheduled court in late morning and at my work we have to take PTO in 1/2 day increments, so I'd end up needing a whole day off, so not worth it. I'll just swallow my pride and pay it, it won't kill me but I WON'T be happy about it!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KEAGAN!!

I just got all the ConventionEars' phone numbers programmed into my phone, and downloaded a special ringtone so I'll know it's one of you! ;)

Well I need to hop into the shower and haul these kids off to the mall as promised for a day of (relatively) cheap entertainment, and Lyzzie has a party to go to at 3 so we need to find a gift. Nothing like waiting till the last minute!!

Have a great Saturday everyone!

OK.............I see some others have posted so I can come back now!!!

2x2s:: Hope you have fun at the car show and find the perfect car for you!!
Friday baby, and we'll be there!!! so much to do so little time.:hourglass

Yolanda::I hope the snow doesn't keep the kids away from the party!!! I know they'll have a terrific time!!! I know I would!!

Nicole:: Have fun doing your errands!! I need to do some major last minute shopping today; I'll see if that actually happens.:rolleyes1

lyzziesmom:: A special ringtone!!! How awesome!!! Can I call you now to see if it works??:rotfl2: Have fun at the mall. I hope you find the birthday gift fast!!

YourMajesty:: I saw your green light on last night, but assumed you were in lurking mode. I didn't realize you fell asleep at the wheel!!!
Six more days, Queenie!!!!:yay: :yay:

I went to my eye doctor appointment this morning and he's letting me try a different type of contact. He lowered the strenght and chaned to Accuvue Advantage (?) I believe. They have a bit more substance and are easier to handle; the ohters were like plastic wrap....just too thin for me to work with easily. He also gave me a weak strenght for my right eye...my distance vision was just too disorted without one.

Nathan has a game at 12:05pm, then I'm planning on skipping town for a few hours to do a little shopping for myself. I need some new tennies and my Lancome makeup is about empty!!!

Talk to you all later and have a great day!!!:sunny:

Happy Saturday morning!

Thanks for the waffles Donna!

I am officially now looking forward to this trip!:dance3: 6 more days!!! I don't know what took so me so long!:surfweb: Now I have to go find my clothes and hope that they still fit!

I made a huge mistake on Wednesday mentioning that I think this winter has been a record with no one getting sick in over 2 months, usually it is every week or so someone is sick. Well no sooner was it out my mouth and Madison got sick. She started out Thursday night with a big melt down and went to bed at 6:30. By Friday morning she was running a fever and complaining her legs hurt and her throat. She spent most of the day on the couch hardly moving. She is much better this morning, but still she still has a low grade fever. From now on when something is going too good, I'm going to keep my mouth shut!!!:rolleyes1

I agree with all the hype Disney stirred up was a huge disappointment. I got all excited when Tinker Bell showed up on my screen and then to find out it was nothing exciting!:sad2:

Michele I hope I get my call, I put in for a 1 bedroom in Vero. My fingers are crossed!

Well I am being paged by the sick crabby (did I just say that) princess, princess: hope everyone has a super Saturday!
:bday: party: Happy Birthday Keagan!

:wave2: Hi, all!

Michele When in June are you going to be @ OKW??

Later, gators! Have a great Saturday!

:wave2: Hi, all!

Michele When in June are you going to be @ OKW??

We will be at OKW from June 17th thru the 24th, then we switch to Vero until the 29th.

I keep telling the kids I haven't decided if they get to go or not:rolleyes1 When we went in Aug they were horrible. Usually when we go my parents are there as are David, Lesa and their girls. So there is a lot of distraction. This time it was all us. Matt wasn't on his meds yet, hopefully that will help. He liked to stand as close as possible behind me just because he knew it was driving me crazy. I literally found myself yelling "Stop breathing on me!!":sad2: :lmao:

Right now my iTunes is playing the audio from the monorail. I am getting so excited. I have to start packing soon.

2x Good luck finding a car. Good idea to look at the auto show. Much warmer than going to car lots!

Lesa...I'm sorry Maddie isn't feeling well. :flower3: Hopefully she will be better by the weekend or the whining we will be hearing will be David. I'm glad you are FINALLY getting excited about this.

Blake and I went to Home Depot today to get the rest of what we needed to finish Briana's room. He has put the last coat of paint on the walls and now has to put the trim on, put up the new lights and put down the carpeting. I hate having projects like this on the weekend.

We also have to take Matt shopping. He needs a new suit for the Snowcoming dance next Saturday. He also needs a haircut.

DznyFan: We saw Johnny & the Sprites live at MGM last year during the preschooler special stuff, he was really good! We were in the 2nd row center, it was great, he is even better looking in person. Even Lyzzie says he is very handsome! That's cool that he is Lumiere, I bet that'll be good and I hope you get to see it.

Lesa: Glad to see you are finally excited about the trip!

I have so much laundry to do, but my parents are in my laundry room right now wallpapering the ceiling and I'm hearing lots of arguing about measuring and whatnot, so I'm steering clear until they're done.

We got some great deals at the mall. Lyzzie found an Ariel Polly Pocket-type playset for her friends birthday, and it was on clearance plus 1/2 off so we were both happy. The paper store Papyrus is closing, they didn't have much left but it was all 90% off. We got a couple of advent calendars for next year. The best deal was at Yankee Candle, I wanted to get some of the wax tarts but I don't have a burner. I do have an electric warmer for jar candles, so I asked the lady if they have just the little tray that goes on top and holds the tarts. She said no, they don't sell just that part, but she said hold on a minute and went into the back. She came out with one of the little trays, and said it was a leftover part in a weird color (sort of a burnt-orange which I actually like) and I could just HAVE it! So now my house smells like fresh oranges - I was nostalgic for Horizons. I have now had enough of the mall to last me the next few months - that place is exhausting! Emma had a good time though, we rode the train and the carousel, but she didn't want to ride on a horse, just sit on the bench and wave at everyone.

We will be at OKW from June 17th thru the 24th, then we switch to Vero until the 29th.
Darn! We'll miss each other by about a week.

He is very cute, and VERY talented! Going back to my book - reading Kingdom Keepers - very creepy....

Afternoon all!

DznyFan, I love Avenue Q! It cracks me up!

Who all is going on the Cliqueless Convention?
