Donna - 42????? :worship: wow.

Yeah, girls, it looks like some of us could really compare some notes on L & D! We'll spare poor Pozey... Then there's Lyzziesmom. 4 and 2 hours?? That's amazing! Linda, Kenny's L & D sounds remarkably like what I went through.

Favorite Christmas song... Carol Of The Bells, Ave Maria, Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas, and Sleigh Ride. I have never heard of Marshmallow World!

I see we had a nice little 80's singalong this morning - so sorry I missed it!

Michele, I hope that things work out soon with Matt and his meds. So I'm assuming Blake travels often and internationally?? Although that's pretty cool IMO, I guess you probably wind up worrying a lot.

I see we had Monkey Bread for breakfast!! I love Monkey Bread! Makes me want to make some. My God, I'm beginning to think my baking is an addiction...

:wave2: :wave2: To everybody who's up and about this evening!

DznyFan, lyzziesmom, YourMajesty Linda.... Oh, the stories we could tell about the birth of our kiddos!!!! :rolleyes1 My water broke at about 1am; got to the hospital by 1:45am and Nathan was born at 11:45 am. Was it a coincidence that the Dr. had office hours until 11:30am!!! I think not!!!! :furious: I had an epidural, labor wasn't really that bad. My biggest obstacle was that I was going through this for the first time in my life at the age of......cough.......cough............. 42!!! :scared1: :teeth: At least he wasn't late, but about 3 weeks early and only weighed 6lbs2oz. :goodvibes

Donna....I had to comment. My first labor was being rushed because my Dr had Wed afternoons off. :furious: DS ended up a semi-emergency c/section. It was created by a rushed delivery and a few hundred other mess ups I won't go into. My second was a regular delivery (not a repeat c/section). I found a new Dr for this one. It really went ok...it was just your typical first birth...2 hours pushing....lots and lots and lots of stiches Good thing that our "guy" has three kiddos. :rolleyes1

Donna...bless your heart...I know you said you had some troubles getting pregnant...right? What a blessing that sweet Nathan is. :goodvibes :goodvibes So much is out of our control....but these Dr schedules and hospital bludners really set me off. :furious: :furious:

Lesa...didn't you say something about moving the smiles around...I'm with you. :teeth: :teeth:

I like TGM too. I'm not subbed right now. You can give us any improtant udates for our "convention". :thumbsup2

DznyFan...what should we do about lyzziesmom and those "easy as pie" deliveries? ;)

Hey - YM, oh the doctors!! I don't know who you had, but I was going to a group - there were three docs in my group. When I was admitted and induced I had one doctor; he was actually the one I liked the least. However, when I started having problems into the labor, he indicated one more episode of a lost heart beat, and he would do an emergency C-section. He went from my least liked to my most respected of the three. Well, he went off-call about mid way through labor, and the one that came on and took over insisted I do a regular delivery. We continued to have problems with heart rate and oxygen levels, but NO he wouldn't do a C-section. I almost lost her because of him, and she was SO distressed.
You know, a good friend of mine is a pediatrician, but some docs it just seems are so concerned about their schedules, or their personal feelings (don't believe in C-sections?) that they compromise their patients' care!

If it makes you feel any better, the years AFTER the delivery have not been so easy. ;) Emma was a colicky baby and even now just finished having a 20-minute hissy fit because I didn't let her finish the last swallow of her "sippy juice."

I think you should force me to ride ToT and RnR back-to-back. :rolleyes1

Hmmm.... gonna have to think about that one. ;)

Lyzziesmom - RnRC and ToT back to back?? Nah. Not tough enough. Actually, kind of like you mentioned - it's the time AFTER, and yours is yet to come. You get to deal with two teenage girls!!! :)

Did you get out today? It was a beautiful day! I just wish it would have gotten a little bit warmer! I could only get my car part way up the driveway tonight because of the ice!

:woohoo: :woohoo: OU :woohoo: :woohoo: Great game for Oklahoma...anyone up for a trip to the fiesta bowl...can anyone say warm. :sunny:

DznyFan...I haven't been out since Wednesday. I did drive back and forth to my sisters house on Thursday when the kids were playing. My DH took the boys to a park in Tulsa today to sled. My sledding days are over...thank goodness. I enjoyed the quiet and break in hearing that darn dyer going.

I noticed the temps for tomorrow are only forecasted at 33...what do you think about school on Monday? The side street are still so bad.

lyzziesmom...well now that I've had my fun...if someone was going to have an easy delivery might as well be one of "our" crew...so I guess we can be friends again. :smooth:

Since ya'll are talking about labor stories, and I have no kids yet, here's how I came into the world...

I didn't have such an easy journey into this world. My mom got toxcimia (I totally butched that one!) Anyways, I was really sick and was in the hospital for about 2 months (I was 2 months premature). I only weighed a whopping 2 lbs. But I survived! And my sister was a premie too at one month premature and 4 lbs, after that my mom said since she was opened up anyways (c-section) just tie her tubes (sorry if it's tmi) since she couldn't bring another child into the world sick like us.

One day I hope to have a story of my very own babies birth to share with ya'll in about 4 or 5 years!!!! I hope we will all still be talking then!

Good morning Cliqueless Crew!!! I think this morning we'll have some good old pancakes!! Grab your drink and come join us at the table!!! :sunny:

breakfast-01_04.jpg

I hope everyone has a Super Special Sunday!!! :grouphug:

Nicole:: My 14-year old niece was 3 months premature and spent 45 days in the hospital. She weighed 2lbs. 10 ozs. at birth but got down to about 2 lbs.
She is a healthy, normal young teen and we thank God she made it through so well!!!! I know a little of how your mother felt, I can't imagine going through that twice!!! :grouphug:

BYE!!!!!!!!!!!!! :wave2:

Good Morning crew!

Okay. I'm now caught up on the posts, at least the majority of them.

Pozey-- close your eyes-- I had a 27 hr delivery with a level 4 tear-- lots of stitches. I also had come down with the flu 2 days before so I was also fairly sick at the time. Son faced the wrong way. They tried to manually turn him. didn't work. Not fun. Yucky experience. But I have a lovely boy to show for it.

Donna-- thanks for the breakfast!

ok-- I have a problem and I'm going to ask your opinions about this situation if you don't mind. Apparently, during school on Friday, another student in my sons class hit my son with scissors. It broke the skin. I had arranged a playdate for my son after school-- so he went home with one of his friends. His friends mom overheard Keagan telling her son about the incident, so she had him call me to tell me. I had no idea this had happened. By the time my son called, school was closed for the weekend. To make matters worse, my son (who goes to year round school) is tracking off for the next 4 weeks. My son told me that he had told the teacher (they had a sub that day) and the teacher told him he was fine. So, my son tells me another little boy in the class saw this happen. I call the other boys mom to verify that this was an intentional act and not an accident. The boy intentionally hit my son with scissors :furious: . Now, it's not a huge scrape, but big enough that it has now scabbed over. Being on the PTO, I have the principles cell number for emergencies. I decide to call him. I'm going to meet with him on Monday.
Sorry I know this is a long story  . Anyway, I'm trying to settle in my mind the final outcome I'm willing to accept from this situation. The boy hit my sons arm. According to the other child, there wasn't an argument before hand and myu son and this child were not even playing together when this happened. I volunteer weekly in class and I know that this boy is hyper. According to my son and his friend, this boy has kind of been picking on kids for the last week. I definately do not want this to ever ever happen again. I am upset that the substitute did not (in my opinion) handle this correctly. My son should have been checked out by the nurse and this should have been reported to the principle right away. I am unsure about what punishment I want to see happen to the boy. I don't beleive that he is violent, but this bothers me. He certainly needs to be held accountable. I'm thinking that do not want my son in class with this child anymore. I am willing to move my child to the other class-- his best friend is in that class and so he is fine with that as well. What do you think?

Thanks. Sorry for the long post.

Donna - oh, pancakes! Thanks!!
Nicole - you really are a miracle baby!! Here's hoping you don't have the L & D problems your mom did, when you decide to have kids.

Keagansmom - wow. I agree that the child should definitely be held accountable, and there should most definitely be some kind of consequence for his actions. If you are uncomfortable with Keagan being in the same class as he, then definitely transfer. I don't know what grade we are talking about, and I'm sure that will have a bearing on what the school will do in terms of the other child's punishment. I think the sub really dropped the ball - this should have been handled immediately!! Whatever you do, good luck!!

YM - :cheer2: :cheer2: OU!!!
I don't know what they're going to do about schools tomorrow, since this isn't going to melt any more. Our neighborhood is still pretty bad! DD's car is still covered in snow, and hasn't been started since Wednesday. Mine has been started and cleared off but I haven't driven it. I've been driving DH's Lexus SUV around because it's better in the snow than mine; and the main roads are good. But... I certainly don't want her driving tomorrow morning on this ice rink!! I kind of hope school will be out again - give it another day to melt. I can't see a bus running our neighborhood.

Good Morning!

Thanks for the pancakes Donna! That's great that your niece is healthy!

Keagansmom- I'm sorry that happened to your son. He needs to be punished. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning puppies---

Well, I think I finally regained my hearing this morning. :teeth: The party was, let's just say, interesting. There were 17 little girls dancing and screaming. Towards the end of the night (it was from 4-8pm), my sister walked up to me and said she felt like she was at a bad high school party. :lmao: After the girls ate their pizza, they started a conga line. You can imagine the rest of the evening. :teeth: Some of the girls were cracking me up-----you should have seen some of their moves. They were really good!!! I did learn how to do the Cha Cha Slide, though. :rotfl2: My 5 yr. old nephew taught me how. :goodvibes

Lyzziesmom----I swear Lyzzie's twin was there!!!! I took a second look and even looked to see if you were there. Did you drive in from KC?? :teeth: It was wierd, too, because her name was Aliza. No joke. (hear the Twilight Zone music playing??)

I haven't gone back to read posts, but just wanted to say "howdy".

Also, and this is a big one------THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR PRAYERS!!!!! My dad said there is an excellent possibility that my grandma is coming home today!!! She finally ate a bit on Friday and a little yesterday and her infections are under control, if not gone.

You guys are truely a blessing to me!!

I'll catch up later.

Have a good day everyone!!

Good Morning!!

I'm back!!!

We came home a day early due to several reasons. We got home last night after a 13 hour drive (it would have taken less time, but we had o stop a lot).

It was GREAT!! Pop is awesome. We were in the 60's facing the 70's, 4th floor right by the elevators and ice machine.

We went to MVMCP, twice. The first noght we tried to go, it rained and was cold. We were able to get tickets for the next party though. It was well worth the money (although I did get into an argument with some guy there. More on that later).

Everest was very cool. We rode it four times in one day. We could have rode it more, but we were tired and left. I liked pretty much all rides, excet TOT. I didn't ride it, but Mike loved it. Embarrassing story: I was really nervous about rid8ing, but I thought I could do it. I was the very first person in and it kept getting more nervous as I waited for everyone to get seated. Right before the doors closed I made Mike tell the CM I needed to get out. So, I left the ride. I have never been more embarassed. Mike said after he got off that I would have hated it.

The dining plan was great; I hope they never get rid of it. We changed some of our dining plans, so instead of 'Ohana for breakfast we ate at Kona (YUM) and then ate breakfast ate Boma instead of dinner at Alfredos. Le Cellier was wonderful as was 'Ohana (we had an awesome view). We did a couple character meals and they are well worth the money. Most characters kissed me, but Dale put his finger in my ear. :rotfl:

I met a lot of nice people, some Dissers, but then others were horrible. Mike was a magnet for rude people. He was pushed aside a lot (and he's a big guy). The night of the second MVMCP we waited for over an hour for the parade. There was a big group of us that had been waiting and I was standing up (but still saving my space and someone else's). This guy comes up and tells his kids to sit in front of me. Couple of problems with this. 1.) One kid sat ON my foot 2.) that space was mine and the other guys 3.) the guy didn't bother to ask if it was ok. I let kids in front of me during parades and fireworks; he didn't ask and I was already going to let the kids around me stand there. Anyway, I told the guy that those spots were saved and he starts yelling at me saying I should be sitting if I wanted those spots and that his kids needed to see. I told him that if it weren't for the other kids that were going to be sitting there, I would let his kids. He started cussing at me until Mike turned around; I think the guy got scared, because he left right away.

I'm going through my pictures now ( almost 2000) and should have them up soon. We want to go back in April and take my little brother. I can't wait, because I'm a bit sad to be home.

I'm going to try and catch up and will be back later. I missed you guys!

WELCOME HOME AMBER!! It sounds like you had a great time! Except for the rude people, but you almost have to expect that rude people are everywhere and just don't let it get to you too much. Don't you love POP? Sounds like you stayed in the same area we did in May - right behind Baloo? It was a great location! Don't you just love the DDP? I didn't buy it for Feb but I'm seriously considering changing that... I'm trying so hard not to spend any money I don't have to, but I think the DDP really saves in the long run. You'll have to tell April how easy it is! Wow. I thought I took a lot of pictures. 2000? I'm impressed! I can't wait to see them.

2x: That must have been quite a party! Too funny about Lyzzie's twin. I always tell Lyzzie that when she is a teenager, she can't bring any of her friends over. ;) I hated teenage girls, even when I was one! Glad to see you survived. My girls are arguing right now... Lyzzie wants to watch Hannah Montana and Emma wants to watch Mickey Mouse. Since they just watched the Wiggles, it's Lyzzie's turn but Emma has a hard time with taking turns. The tears are squirting out of her eyes just like a cartoon! I placated her with chocolate chip cookies and candy canes.

Donna: those pancakes look delicious! I had a very nutritious breakfast of a Little Debbie Fancy Cake. The kids had boats and airplanes. (cereal, remember?)

Yolanda: that is ridiculous about your son's teacher! Even if it was a sub, that was handled completely wrong. If either of my kids were stabbed with scissors, a phone call to the principal would be the LEAST of my actions I'm sure. Don't most schools have a zero-tolerance policy? Or do they not do that in elementary? OH... I am so po'ed for you!! Glad to hear he's ok though. I don't think YOUR son should have to change classes, even if his friend is in the other class it can be hard to adjust to a different teacher. I think the other kid definitely should not just get away with it scot-free. I remember in 5th grade, a kid stabbed another kid through the hand with a pencil, of all things. Nobody knew what to do... they can't exactly ban pencils now can they?

Nicole: wow you really were a miracle baby! And your poor mom, to go through that with your sister too? I don't blame her for not wanting to do it again, how scary. Technology is so much better now, I'm sure you will have a better experience when it's time. Wouldn't that be great if we are all still friends several years from now?

YM: glad we are friends again. I also forgot to mention that all my current back problems were caused by my pregnancy with Emma, so it wasn't all wine & roses. The delivery was just the easiest part! Actually the pain I have now, I often compare to back labor, so even though my real labor was over quickly, I have felt like I'm having labor pains for 2 1/2 years! Still jealous? ;)

:welcome:WELCOME HOME AMBER!!!:welcome:

You came home a day early? :earseek: You've got to share. Doesn't that stink about the RUDE people?? I mean we're in Disney for Goodness Sake!! No nastiness allowed here, people! I remember last December my DSis and I were leaving MGM but just as we were the parade was starting. Well, we found an out of anybody's way spot and started watching the parade. Then, off to our right these two GROWN men and one of the men's wife started having it out
argue.gif
and the one guy was threatening to punch the other guy and it was REALLY LOUD!! :scared: (this is me being scared) I was scared because you just don't know about people these days. People start killing people over their kids soccer game and here recently at the Clemson/Carolina game two guys who were FRIENDS got into a fight and one of the guys died. So, here I am scared to death and they're down there ready to go to blows
boxing.gif
over one guy getting into the other guy's parade viewing area and he paid good money to get in and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah! The one guy was really yelling, "I'm going to kick your a$$!" --Hey, moron, there are kids all around!!-- :furious: A cast member came over and got in between both of them for the entire parade. Now, in my never to be humble opinion they both should have been thrown out of the park! Seriously, two grown men fighting and using bad language other guests having to see AND hear it . . . Kick 'em both out for the day.
I am really looking forward to hearing your trip report and seeing your 2000  pictures!!
And yes, please tell April how easy the DDP is to use.
I'll be honest with you all, it's DH that has me kind of nervous. You see, when we were down there in September Steven got a real good look at idiots using the DDP that ended up holding everybody up in the POP eating area checkout. And he saw the same idiots wanting to argue with the CM about how they are able to use their DDP with this option and the CM telling them no, you can only get this and this as a snack option and then they'd get out of line and HOLD EVERYBODY up while they went to make an exchange and to be honest with you it really did look like an unorganized mess! He declared right on that trip that he didn't know what this Dining Card was all about but he'd never use it! Too much headache and hassle on vacation. Well, at the time (everyone was there on free dining) I said we won't ever be able to use it because DVC can't. Well, DVC can and I've seen you all have luck with the DDP and in looking over the menus of what we'd order and where we'd really like to eat I do believe it will save us quite a bit of money. So, I had the little task of researching and convincing DH it will be alright. So, there is my DDP story.

I love TGM. I think he is great and he's not failed us yet.

Kegansmom:: Definately talk to the principal. That boy can't go around stabbing people!! He could have done SERIOUS damage and that sub needs to be held accountable too!!
I remember back when I was in 10th grade a girl pal of mine was playing "Russian Roulette" with this guy who had scissors. She kept sticking her tongue out and he was acting like he was going to cut it off. One time, she wasn't fast enough and YUP, he cut it almost off. She had to have her tongue stitched back together. It was SOOOOOOOOOOO GROSS!!! And these were what 14, 15 year olds? It was bad. Still gives me the chills just to think about it!!

OMG I can't believe I almost forgot to say.... 2x, I'm SO HAPPY your Grandma is doing better!! Did she end up saying anything about why she didn't want to eat? Maybe she just wasn't hungry, I know that happens when you don't feel well. That's such good news that she should be home soon.

Lyzziesmom, I was near Baloo; it was room 5453. Mike loved it too and that is where we want to stay in April. The DDP is awesome!

April, you should try the DDP. Even when we didn't get desserts, the plan was still a good value (most CS was around $30; Le Cellier was over $100). I didn't have too many issues using it at all. At Pecos Bills we could only get a medium soda (all other places let us get larges). We weren't treated any different because we were on the plan. Except for dinner at Boma our servers were excellent (the guy at Boma was just really, really slow. He was like that with everyone, so it wasn't because we were on the DDP). Any time I was unsure of what I could get, we would ask before picking. The Fountainview Cafe was a great use of snack credits. We ate there twice for breakfast. If you use a snack credit, you could get one item. If you used a CS credit, you could get two plus a drink. Every thing was labeled really well. It was also nice to order anything we wanted and not worry about the cost. We didn't always pick the most expensive item, but we still came out ahead. It was a lot of food, but at CS places we would try to get a dessert that we could take with us or we would split meals. If you have any questions, let me know.

Oh, I forgot to tell you the Wonders of Life was open. I had never seen it before, but I really didn't get the big deal. We didn't do Body Wars (Mike was getting sick. That's part of the reason we came home early). The activities we neat, but the attractions weren't that good. It wasn't advertised as being open, so there weren't a lot of people.
