Good Morning everyone!!!!

Did we all sleep well??? Since I took ny-quil I was out like a light. Worked up quite the volume in my overnight hair too. Nice.

Hi Disneydreamin6---welcome!!!!! What type of work do you do that brings you in at such an hour?? Just wondering. Good to have you here. Don't worry, you'll start getting to know all of us. We are a very sweet group that gets a bit rowdy---but only every so often. All in fun. We dance too :dance3: . And we ask toilet paper questions. :teeth:

Lin----ooohhh, now I really want to go. Every time I go there (which honestly has only been a few) I think that I don't need to return any time soon----mainly because of the price----but then I soon begin craving it again. Strange. I crave the main meal, believe it or not----but I can ALWAYS go for the cheese and chocolate courses!!!!!!!! yum.
How's Chris feeling today???? Tell him we're thinking of him!!

Lyzziesmom----good sign when a couple can sit in silence. But, I don't know about the forgetting of the ice cream. :teeth: I could forgive but never forget. :rolleyes1
That's funny about your mom giving things a pitch. Believe me, the thought crossed my mind---just for a second. But, the sentiment was so sweet and I did meet her that I couldn't let that thought linger too long. I just can't get over how giving she was to complete strangers. But, then I think about all of you guys and realize that I am more blessed than I realize. :grouphug: Sorry, serious moment------ now back to the 2x you know-- :dance3: princess: pirate:

Michele----I think you are so right about election day in schools---just invites wrong doings.
Yay for hotel ressies!!!!! Did you make any specific requests---buildings, etc?? What days are you and Lesa staying??

Donna----are these sticky buns with cinnamon?? hehe
The St. Louis info was all over the news right around the World Series stuff. Radio guys were laughing because they said we are home of the 2006 champs but live in the most dangerous city. Evidentally it was some national poll that was taken. The mayor was disputing it. I heard, but don't know if it is true that it only incorporated the "city" of St. Louis----not the outskirts. I'm assuming this is the downtown area?? Who knows. But, I kind of live in the city----South city-----but I live in a very old, established area----you know how St. Louis is---all the different areas. I have really never felt unsafe though----just like anywhere else, I know the perimeter where things can get bad and I just don't go there. I have always been watchful of my surroundings though. Things can happen anywhere.
I haven't been down there yet, but have you heard how they are completely re-doing Washington Street downtown. The highrise loft area is supposed to be gorgeous. I remember growing up and "Washington Street"--even saying the name was taboo. Red light district, if you know what I mean.

Oh my, girl---you need to relax a bit!!!! You must be hurting after unloading all of her things. What a good DIL you are!! Is she adjusting to the move alright??

Okay, I was chattier than I thought----gotta run and jump in the shower. Don't worry, I have my tennis shoes on. :teeth:

Hi to all!!!!

Have a great Thursday!!

Hello All!

Lyzziesmom, I just read your second post and had to laugh. I never have my cell phone on and it drives Mike crazy. Half the time I don't even have it with me. In fact, as I type it is sitting at home next to my bed.

2x2s, that was so sweet of the woman. It's nice when someone is thoughtful, because sometimes it feels like everyone is just concerned about themselves.

Donna, those look so yummy!

:wave2: to everyone!

Good Morning!

Thanks for breakfast Donna!

Michelle- :cool1: You made your ressies! How exciting, I love the feeling I get when I make my ressies, I feel like everything is official!

2X- I'm glad you live in a safe area. What that person did was very thoughtful and sweet.

well my mom called me on my way home. She said the police were there for a few hours after she called me. The guys truck was totally smashed in the front and she thought maybe it was a fatality :confused3 I'll have to see if its in the paper tomorrow. Yikes!
Linda…..any updates? Scary to think that the driver may have been killed. Scarier to think that someone might have been in the yard when it happened. I’m glad your mom wasn’t outside when it happened.

Please disregard my previous post. My DBF is an idiot who does not turn his phone on. I am an idiot who gets all upset over nothing. We deserve each other.

He's coming over in an hour or so and bringing a movie and ice cream. I'm so glad he puts up with my crap.

Thanks for listening... now back to our regularly scheduled programming.
Lyzziesmom………glad everything turned out. Tell your DBF to keep his phone ON at all times. I used to have to tell that to my DW all the time. She would turn her cell phone off any time she wasn’t actually using it. Also……..just remember to stay calm and collected throughout the dating process. Just go with the flow……

**pozey:: I really like the kids' costumes. Seeing Colton as the Scream slasher doesn't make me feel so bad that Nathan dressed as Jason Vorhees from Friday the 13th!! Courtney is an adorable Snow White!!

Pozey--this chicken has never seen any of the Scream movies----crazy, I know---but now I remember why. Does Courtney get frightened of her big brothers' costumes, or is she used to it??
They all look great, too.
Courtney used to be scared of anybody wearing a mask. Now…..she’s okay with it, as long as she knows who it is. I wish I had a better picture of her in her Snow White costume.

Donna………Thank you for the cinnamon rolls!! Yum E! Hits the spot this morning.

Well, well, well.......Another day.......Another visit to the emergency room.....

Yesterday, after leaving work, I had just picked up the boys and we were going to go get something to eat before going to swim team practice.

DW calls and said she had just picked Courtney up from daycare. And Courtney was hurt and crying. About 10 minutes earlier, she had fallen off the monkey bars and said she hurt her leg. DW took her home and later called and said Courtney would not even try to stand on it or walk.

I told her that I would come home and take her to the emergency room if needed. So, the boys skipped swim practice and we came home.

When I got home, Courtney acted fine. She was eating dinner and sitting on her knees. However, she still would not stand up or try to walk. So, I took her up to the minor emergency care center a few miles up the road.

The doctor checked her leg to see if it hurt. Courtney said touching or pressing on her leg did not hurt. So they took x-rays. No fracture. The doctor asked Courtney to walk across the room. Courtney took a couple of steps and her knee kinda buckled a little bit and said it hurt.

So, as a precaution, the doctor put her leg in a splint and said that she should see an Orthopedic doctor on Friday. So, we are scheduled to go to the same doctor who saw her for her broken arm.

I don’t know what to think. I don’t know if she is just afraid to walk on it, or if there is possibly ligament damage.

I guess we’ll find out Friday.

Donna... it's like you read my mind! Those cinnamon rolls look fantastic. I gotsta have my sweets in the morning. :teeth:

2x... glad to hear you live in a safe part of town. I have never been to St. Louis but I have been to Miami and that can be quite a scary place! I went to a birthday party in a sketchy part of town once, and my friend was looking out the window commenting on the people she saw outside: "hooker, hooker, drag queen, bum, drag queen, drug dealer, bum, bum, hooker, dealer, pimp, bum..." You get the idea. Another time I got lost & ended up in Little Havana - the only place where I've ever been pulled over by a cop just for being the wrong color (white) in the neighborhood, and then I was escorted out of town by not one but two police cars. Yikesarooney!! I can't imagine any place in the Midwest being worse than that but I'm sure it happens. Especially when crazy truck drivers plow into people's lawns. ;)

I can't believe how many of you turn your cell phones off! For shame!! I must admit, when I first got mine I would constantly forget to bring it with me when I left the house, and I would immediately check for messages when I got home. Now that it's my only phone, it pretty much never leaves my side. Not that anyone really calls me, but that's beside the point.

I was all set & ready to make my ressies today for Feb, now that the new codes have been released for the general public, but alas the rates are not up on the Disney website and that's how I prefer to book. They always mess it up on the phone and then I have to call back and change things a bunch of times. Last time, with five of us traveling together, they misspelled ALL of our names, first AND last, and put my parents in the wrong room category and me at the wrong rate. Hopefully the offer will be up on the site soon. Maybe with the price drop, I can stay at POFQ like I originally wanted to!

pozey... poor Courtney!! The girl seems to be a walking disaster lately. It's good that there's no fracture, perhaps she bruised the bone and is just favoring the leg for now? I used to do that all the time and it hurts like an inappropriate word!

Good mornin' chiquas and chico!

Donna - cinnamon rolls are one of my faves - yummm!!! they looked SO good, now I want one. You know - the big really soft kind with LOTS of cinammon inside the layers.... a little icing, and lots of melted butter - my God, I think I just gained 3 pounds thinking about it.

Linda - any word on the crash victim or what might have cause it? I'm surprised the news crews weren't out there. At least all the folks in the homes are ok!

Lyzziesmom - I was reading your posts about DBF, and was thinking "man it's so much simpler not to have to date" simply because it's so easy to get our feelings hurt when guys (and girls too!) do stupid things that we take personally. Guys just don't think about those silly little things (except for Pozey, whom based on what I've read must be pretty much perfect.) the way we do! Of course, being married doesn't exclude us from guys doing (or not doing) stupid stuff and hurting our feelings...... But, then reading on I was glad to hear you got past it - except for the ice cream.... I'm with 2x on that on - forgive, maybe. Forget? un-uh.
OK - your Miami story was just scary. :scared1:

2X - myself, I saw the article on the Yahoo news page about the most dangerous cities in the US. I can't imagine anywhere being worse than inner-city Los Angeles, but who knows? Is there a lot of gang activity in St. Louis? How sweet was it of that woman at your clinic!?! That was just so thoughtful.

Pozey - my goodness, poor Courtney!! This just hasn't been her year, has it? Good luck at the orthopedists (again)!!

Somebody mentioned Christmas card exchanges last weekend I think (as I was reading through, catching up) - count me in. I LOVE Christmas. DD and I were in Target last night shopping, all their Christmas stuff is out, and they have the COOLEST Christmas decor at Target. If it wasn't so dadgum early in the year, I'd start decorating NOW! (sick, aren't I?) It it too early to pull out the Christmas music?? :rotfl2:

:wave2: Hi, everybody!!!

DznyFan... I totally understand what you're saying about Christmas! I'm disgusted and appalled at how early the stores start putting things out, and yet I am captivated by all the sparkly pretties and want to dress up my house and have a party! Since this is my first Christmas in a HOUSE, and I am a little short on furniture, I already know where to put the tree and plan to buy a boatload of new decor. Last year I barely decorated, my apartment was big but all the space was upstairs in the bedrooms and there was no room for a tree in my cozy little living room. Lyzzie and I were already listening to Xmas music last week. Sad, isn't it?

Yeah, I know....it seems she is just an accident just waiting to happen. I don't know what to think with this one.....she only complains about it hurting when she is asked to stand up and/or walk. :confused3

Me too! I love Christmas. I have SO many decorations to put up this year. I always try to add a few things to my decorations each year. Now, I want something new.......Previously, I have put lights up on the house. They are the big bulbs. And it is all blue. Now, the big thing are the new LED Christmas lights. They are brighter, use less energy, and don't break or burn out. Now, I need to replace all my "big bulb" lights. The main problem?? I put up about 50 strands of these lights!! And the cost of replacing thise?? About $13 per strand. So.....I need to buy a few at a time.

Pozey- I hope Courtney is okay! Hopefully nothing is wrong.

Lyzziesmom- Your Miami story was scary! :scared1:

It's crazy how early stores put up Christmas decorations! It seems like it gets earlier and earlier!

pozey, :grouphug: to Courtney.

I can't wait to put up decorations! Mike just bought me two packages of Winnie the Pooh candy canes (Walmart has them). I asked if it was too early to put the tree up and he said no (of course, I think he was humoring me).

I usually put all the decorations up Thanksgiving weekend. I won't be home this year, so it will have to wait (Unless, I really do put my tree up now. If I'm at WDW for two weeks, that means 2 weeks less I have to look at my tree. If I put it up now, I won't really miss out. I have it all figured out :thumbsup2 )

Pozey...sorry to hear about Courtney. Honestly, I bet she would be walking if she could. Hope everything is ok. :goodvibes

Ok...I booked for POFQ 2-2 through 2-6. I havn't booked a flight but the ones I'm looking at arrive Orlando 12:20pm....for the trip home leave Orlando 4:10pm......leaving something for the evening on 2-2 and morning of 2-6.

Lesa and MI mom do you have your flights booked yet? :cheer2:  :Pinkbounc

Also, I requested king room with water view...which I can change. I would rather stay near someone...hopefully we could decide on a building???

:woohoo: :woohoo: Time for some dining reservations ...did you all book the dining plan? I did! Can you tell I'm excited...I've only had about 6 cups of coffee so far today. :surfweb: :surfweb: :dance3:

Morning! Thanks for the cinnamon rolls Donna!!

Pozey, so sorry about Courtney! It sounds like ligament damage to me, but not severe. I have torn both ligaments in both knees. One was severe, one wasn't. I could still walk on it but it really hurt when I straightened my knee out. Hopefully she will be good as new soon!

2x, go to meltingpot.com and sign up for their club, you get coupons plus a free chocolate fondue just for signing up!

Chris came home from work about an hour early yesterday because he was having back spasms but felt much better by the time I got home from work at 11. Hopefully he won't have any problems today.

Donna, you can work for me anytime! I started as a seasonal and worked as a part-timer for 4 years before asking for a promotion. I try to always remember what it was like when I was just a pt and keep things in perspective. I had an amazing boss when I worked in Lubbock and I try to remember to make my team feel the way he made me feel; valuable and important.

Linda, any word on the accident yet?

So, we started playing Christmas music at work on Monday!! I hope we are all geared up for a Cheetah-licious Christmas!!!! hehehe.

Much love to all!

Lin, thanks for the tip on the melting pot free fondue! Those two words go very well together.... free fondue. Yep, I'm on my way over to sign up. (I see you found my poll! I'm like a terrier, when something gets my attention I can't let it go until I've torn it to shreds.)

The Disney site has the discounts up now... I'm getting ready to book for Feb!!! This is all so exciting! My parents are taking a cruise in Feb, but not until the end of the month. I tried to get them to move it up so they'd be gone at the same time, then I'd just bring both the girls and not have any babysitting issues, but they're already booked on a great deal and don't want to change. I think I'm going to book at POFQ too, it's only 191.00 more for the whole trip than a value and as much as I love the values, I was kinda upset with myself last time for cheaping out yet again.

Hehe, I'm having to do the opposite! I'm cheaping out and staying at Pop in January to get an extra day out of the trip. Since I'm going with my sister in law I don't mind, if I was going with my husband I would definitly hit up a moderate...or rent to stay at OKW again.

This thread is slow today!

Lin, that's why I cheaped out last time, so I could go for 10 days at Pop instead of 5 or 6 days at POFQ. It was so much fun, and I really liked it, but I had just been at Pop in May and really wanted to try somewhere else. My goal is to stay at all the resorts, but I know it'll never happen because I could never bring myself to pay for a deluxe. I'm still trying to talk myself into a moderate!

I just talked to my mom and she's not sure if she will babysit Lyzzie so I can go on the trip. I'm sure she'll change her mind, but she's just worried about me taking time off with the new job and all. The woman is a worrier, as if I don't do enough of that on my own!!

Lin... this thread is often slower during the day, unless some of us are having slow days at work (like I am now). It usually picks up in the evening, and sometimes we get a few night owls hooting it up here & there! Some of us have even been known to talk to ourselves just to keep it going.

shew...the vp finally left :woohoo:

pozey... I hope Courtney is ok :guilty: poor girl pixiedust:

well, I have yet to see our yard or make any calls w/our visitors today. I really don't know what's going on yet. Mike usually reads the paper online but I told him not to email me today til they leave b/c when i receive an email I basically get a pop up on my screen... not so descrete :rolleyes1 when the bosses are here. I'll see if I can find the paper online.

yay for making ressies!!! I'll have to do that today too!

On second thought... I don't think I'm ready to book until I know for sure that my mom will babysit Lyzzie.

Also... hey Ashley, didn't we talk at one time about maybe rooming together? It looks like that would save some serious bucks, since the room rate is based on double occupancy so it's the same for one adult or two, and Emma of course is free. Just something to think about, girliepie!

You guys, with all your talk of booking your February trip to Disney, are really depressing me so. :sad1:

I want to go back so badly.....

Courtney has an appointment with the orthopedic doctor tomorrow at 10:30. Hopefully it isn't anything too serious.
