Yum, that cake looks delicious! You are making me hungry - or maybe that's because I skipped lunch today after coming in late.

I just ordered some checks from my bank... they had Disney checks! I got ones called "Mickey through the years", they are so cute. I love waiting for something to come in the mail. I'm still waiting for my doorknocker and doormat, I checked online and it said it will ship in five weeks!!?! I don't know if that means five weeks from now, or five weeks from when I ordered. Either way, that's a loooong time! I guess because the doormat is personalized, but heck it's only one initial, you'd think they would have a ton of 'em ready to go.

2x2s, I think I forgot to say, I hope you feel better before your trip! I'm the same way, I'm not going to let a little thing like being sick ruin a Disney trip but man oh man, flying with an ear infection is NO fun! Just load up on the meds and enjoy your trip. What is it now, 10 days?? Just think, 10 days from now you will be... well we don't really know where you will be because you have not shared your itinerary with us yet. *sniff* That's ok, *snifflesnort* we didn't really want to know anyway.

I wish I still had Disney checks. I did have ones with castles and princesses. I switched banks and they don't carry Disney checks (I did get Mr. Potato Head ones though, so sorta Disney. I actually work at this bank and get free checks, or else I would order them from an outside company).

Ashley, I'm sorry about the memory card, but at least you were able to get your Disney pictures off before. Check out buy.com, they usually have sales on memory cards.

I only have a few minutes but I wanted to check in and report that EMMA'S NAME CHANGE IS A DONE DEAL!! We even got the judge to sign off on changing her birth certificate! This is a huge big deal, because there was NO precedent for this case, so in a way I am making it easier for other people in the future. YAY!!

Hurray!!!!

That's great news. Now how did the job interview go?

Tonight is the season premiere of Lost!! I'm so excited I'm counting down the minutes.

I love this show! One of my favorites!

I'm back from the interview and it was.... weird. The lady who "interviewed" me who would be my boss, used to work where I work now. (I didn't know she talked to my present boss! But that clarifies why my boss said something today about IF I decide to come back tomorrow. Funny!) She didn't really ask me anything! She just told me about the company and the position, and let me ask all the questions. This lady also said that she does not like my archnemesis!! She keeps in touch with a lot of people at my present job, and kept asking about them and telling me what they've said about me. In fact the first thing she said was, "So, you like to read during lunch!" The whole thing was very bizarre, but it's a good job, lots of variety. Plus it feels more important than what I do now. It's about 7 minutes from my house, and the hours and benefits are better, with a ton of paid time off. The only minus: some weekend work and sometimes overtime with very little notice. But then they offer comp time off to make up for it. All in all, it went quite well and I have a good feeling about it! I'll find out in a week or two after 2nd interviews.

It looks like I'll have to wear my 'lucky suit' more often! That and all the pixie dust from you guys seems to work wonders - thanks!!

Strange thing at work today... this guy who works at the other end of the building who is pretty quiet but very nice bought me lunch! He's been stopping by my desk every day to chat on his way to lunch for the last couple weeks, and I'm getting a vibe that he may want to ask me out but is kind of testing the waters. Here's the strange part... I'd like that! Strange because ever since my disastrous marriage, I have had no interest whatsoever in dating. Actually, remember back when I had about 14 drinks at an after-work function? I may have flirted with this guy a little bit (about 6 drinks into the evening) but I stopped short of handing out my phone number. I figured hey, he knows where to find me. Anyway, I just felt like sharing. I could be totally misinterpreting things, but it feels promising. Think I should mention that my birthday's this weekend and I have no plans?

Now that I've just written a small novel about stuff that I'm sure nobody reads, I have to go pry the kids away from the tv and get them to bed.

Okay, here's the deal----at first when I started reading, I thought it was a bit odd that she already knew things about you and your current boss made that comment. I thought, "is there no confidentiality laws in interviewing??" I suppose not----it's pretty cut throat gossipy. Anyway, as I continued reading I thought maybe it could work to your advantage----esp. since she knew about and didn't like Archy N. Did your current boss know that you were interviewing?? If she did, did she find out through you or this interviewer??
It sounds like it has great potential and you have a good feeling about it. Did she say how often the last minute overtime and weekends take place??

Do you have any other interviews set up??

I did ask her if I could use her as a reference, and if she could please make sure to be a good one. I definitely think it's a good thing that she knows everyone I work with now, she has obviously been asking around and still stayed late to interview me on MY schedule! How have you been feeling, by the way? It sounds like a rough week, with the treatments and the ear trouble. 10 days babe, 10 days!!

Thanks to everyone for all the congrats on Emma's name change! It was nerve-wracking but I'm SOOO glad it's done. It feels like that's another unpleasant chapter of my past that is over and behind me, yay! I've been trying to do this for almost two years, so it's such a burden lifted off of me!

My mom told me today that she got yet another confirmation from WL today with a credit on it. So, she called to see what it was all about. They told her that since I am leaving a couple of days early, they credited the amount. WHAT?????? Who said?? The CM then told her that someone called on 9/27 and shortened the length of stay on MY room by two days. Ummm, NOT!!!!
I did have a little run-in with a CM on 9/17 (the morning of my mom's b-day and dinner) but after she started saying that we could lose the packages, etc. I told her not to touch anything, that I would take care of it when I got down there. Do you think she did something to my ressie??
Anyway, my mom got this change in the mail today, called right away and the CM assured her that everything will work out fine. I'm a tad nervous now!!!!

OMG 2x, that is scary about the reservation!! Maybe somebody misunderstood you? I doubt they can just shorten your stay because they are mad at you, if they do I can't imagine they'd keep that job very long. I mean, the CMs don't have THAT much power!! I'm sure it will all work out, but I don't blame you for being a nervous wreck!

2x2...how bizarre about your reservation being changed. Isn't that always one of our worst nightmares? Getting down there and finding that it has all gone wrong! I'm so glad that you were all able to catch it and correct it now. I swear I would be calling everyday for the next 10 days double checking everything

Young teen girls are brats!!! Briana is helping to coach the 7th and 8th grade cheerleaders for the city league team. Right now they are getting ready for competition. Blake's sister is one of the head coaches but she works a lot of evenings [she's a bartender] and the other coach is a mother that has never done this before. They roped Bree into helping since she knows what she is doing but...the girls are awful. One of them is her cousin who thinks that since her mom is the coach she can do and say anything she wants to. The others are her friends who feed off of her.

Briana had practice tonight, I guess it went OK at the beginning because the mother was there. Since it was going well, she left As soon as she left the girls started acting up, chatting, playing around, using their cell phones, etc. Briana finally called me to come up and take over. I used to coach her teams when she was their age. I walked in and just nailed them to the wall. Their expressions were priceless. They had their shoes off, screwing around. I told them they had 30 seconds to get their shoes on or they could leave. We were getting busy!! And let me tell you they worked for the remaining time. Then they started whining because they have to practice tomorrow. They wouldn't have if they had done what they were supposed to tonight.

Over all I had fun, I miss coaching sometimes. I will be making random 'visits' to the practices just to keep them on their toes

One thing I didn't realize was that the other coaches left Bree alone with the girls. That is such a big NO NO. I told her from now on, if there is no other coach there, practice is cancelled. You are just setting yourself up for an accusation. When I coached it was in the rules that no adult was to be alone with the kids, we always worked in pairs. All you need is some kid you have just reprimanded thinking they will get back at you and telling someone that you 'did something'
