Good Morning Everyone!

I need to catch up on all the posts.

We visited Mike's best friend on Friday. We came home Saturday and decided to redo the entrance to our house. Mike laid the new tile. Now, I just have to completely rearrange the living room and I'll be happy.

Yesterday was spent watching football (our team lost :guilty: )

Talk to you soon!!

AAARRRGGGHHHH!!!! I had a long posty ready, with quotes, and replies, and greetings, and I just lost the whole thing!! :furious:

:wave2:

Good Morning!

Thanks for breakfast Donna!

Lesa- :grouphug: I hope everything gets better soon!

Lyzziesmom- :grouphug: I teared up reading your post.

Ashley- What a great surprise!!! Try to look surprised! Did you still want a coupon from the ice cream shop (I am not even going to attempt to spell it!) in DTD? I got one for $1 off, let me know.

I am in single digits!!!!! :cool1:

Hi! I'm back home for the day. DS woke up with a headache and conjestion and decided not to send him to school. (I can take hime to work with me.) I called Mom to tell her we were going by the Post office first; she told me just to stay home. I said "OK". So here I am. DS is laying on the couch watching TV.

DznyFan::I feel your frustration about the posts. I had one ready last night, but lost it. Now I can't remember what I posted about and what I didn't!

Neither happened...... :confused3

I stopped by Lowe's Friday night to pick out a faucet. Could not find the one I wanted. Went to Home Depot and again could not find one I liked. So, I special ordered one. Should get it in about 10 days.

DW had to work Saturday morning and I asked her if she wanted to eat at Bonefish Grill. She said no.....she wanted Mexican food. So.......we went to Ted's.

Have a Magical Monday!!!

Donna...yummm thanks for breakfast!

We didn't get in last night until 1am. I forgot how much I don't like flying through DFW...a couple of storms and the whole airport was a mess. Our 7:25pm connecting flght took off from Dallas around 11:45pm  I felt bad all the way around. My parents were at our house with the boys and my dad had to be at work early today. DS talked to DH around 8:30pm to tell him they had a surprise for him. DH told me he siad "can I tell you what it is"? DH was "yes, you can tell me". DS siad "we made you an apple pie"! DS then ask "can I go ahead and have some"? DH said "sure".....then DS said "good because I'm eating a piece NOW"! :rotfl:

Donna sorry you DS isn't feeling well. DS woke up sounding awful...barking like a dog with a cough. He has terrible allergies. I think we will probably starting shots soon...he takes way to many meds and that just to get allergies "bearable". :sad2:

Hey Ashely...glad you liked your haircut. :woohoo: Are you packing girlfriend?

Thanks everyone for the well wishes...DH did great at his marathon. It was a nice getaway.

 Hey Pozey...and the game didn't go so well either. We were in Ohio so they weren't showing the game and we saw the score 33 to 20 and thought they had the game under control. Then like an hour later we were back at the hotel and flipping channels and they were getting ready to kick the field goal...we were like what in the world.

What does you DW do (not sure if you wanted to say where she works)? Darn that she had to go in on Saturday.

:wave2:

Darn it...seems like a few of us have had that problem lately. :furious:

Ok...when does your busy DD have time to work? What a sweet mom bringing her some flats. Good luck with the house hunt...did you guys decide on the one you liked?

YM---Yeah, I caught ya trying to pull the wool over my eyes. Camping---right. :rolleyes1

OMG-----I about choked on my dry puffed rice!!!! :lmao: :lmao: (I know, sounds oh so appetizing, doesn't it??) I have this vision of you slyly trying to open your Milky Way wrapper and all the runners fumbling over each other because they can hear chocolate.

Yay for DH!!!!!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Funny story about the Italian bread. My BIL and niece (almost 8) went to the Italian market this afternoon to get the bread and my sister said he comes home with two loaves that look more like French bread---still Italian but not our "traditional". He asks her if this is right and she tells him "no". Then he proceeds to tell her that my niece tried to tell him, "daddy, that's not the right kind" but he refused to listen to her. I bet he'll listen from now on--the girl knows what she's talking about. :rotfl2:

Oh, and I forgot to mention that I finally called GF bakery and ordered the Cindy slipper and dog bones for our tea. I am a bit nervous, though because I was transferred three times before anyone remotely knew what I was talking about. She wasn't the nicest person though, I hate to say, so I hope she got it correct. I am trusting.

Hey 2xcited...puffed rice is my friend...puffed rice is my friend. :teeth:

Do you know me or what? The whole time I'm sitting on this bench and plotting how I'm going to get this Milky Way out and eat if without looking like well...you know. :rolleyes1 I was sitting between a retired Col waiting for his wife and a lady waiting for her boyfriend to finish the half. The lady's boyfriend finished and she got up but it just took the other guy's wife too long to finish so I just broke it out and inhaled. popcorn:: :teeth:

Funny story about your DN....just typical male/female brain differences...already noticable at 8! Glad to hear you dinner went well...sounded wonderful.

Glad you had a nice weekend!! We missed our hootie!!

I am not even close to even getting started to pack..

I am getting stressed right now because Jeremiah's friend from college, who is his co-worker also, said he would come over and check on the cats and make sure everything is ok, and now he is saying that he can't come over the days we asked him to.. (Sunday, Tuesday & Thursday) We asked him first when we started planning the trip (like 6 months ago) then confirmed last month, and now he is backing out..We don't really know anybody in this area and the only other person we could ask is another coworker who hasn't even been to our house before...I've been looking for some type of pet sitter but Jeremiah isn't comfortable with someone he doesn't know in our house.. :guilty: I guess it will all work out, I am just sick of this guy and this is basically the last straw if he can't help us out...

 Anyway!!!

Oh the game..... :sad2:    I could go on and on.....but I won't.

DW is a supervisor for the Department of Veterans Affairs. The supervisors usually rotate turns to come in on Saturdays for the employees who work overtime on Saturday. It was her turn. She has a GREAT job and has been there forever. She actually just interviewed for the position of Assistant Director, but doesn't think she will get it.

YourMajesty::Welcome baaack!!!! :wave2: We missed you! What airport do you fly out of? Is it OKC or Tulsa. I know you have said, but I forgot. :sad2:

I've been watching the original Parent Trap. What is it about chilly, rainy days that make me want to watch old Disney movies? DS is in his room now; The Parent Trap isn't his cup of tea.

Ashley::I hope things work out for house sitting, I'm sure it will. Don't wory about the packing, I usually do it the day before we leave. I just make sure everything is clean and ready! :thumbsup2

Hi, pozey! :wave2: ...and please just call me Donna. :teeth:

Okay DonnaLeah. :wave2: :joker:

Speaking of shoes.........(wasn't someone talking about shoes earlier??)

I went outside earlier and walked through a small puddle. (well, I didn't go outside JUST to walk through the puddle. I just happend to walk through it.) Anyway, I feel my sock is wet. So, I look at the bottom of my shoe. I have a crack all the way across the sole!!

These shoes are at old. Probably VERY old. But they are by far the most comfortable dress shoes I have. They are Rockport dress shoes.

So......I guess I will be shoe shopping later.

Donna...geothermal...that sounds like that worked out well :cool1: !! The guy that built all the houses in our development built our house for him and his family...so I do like that...the special touches and extra quality that his wife demanded for their own house...but as soon as it was finished less than 6 months later she kicked him out and asked for a divorce! So...that is how Mike found out about it...she worked out at the base too... if we had built new I would have definitely looked at geothermal too!

DznyFan...hope Erin likes her new job :goodvibes ...sorry for rambling about corn burner :teeth: I get a little excited about it  guess I was tired too... but it sure keeps me toasty :cloud9: I like the house in the 70's!!! run around in shorts all year :rolleyes1

Ashley...glad you liked your new haircut!! I need one too! Good luck w/the pet sitter...I hate when people back out like that when you've been planning this in advance  !!! Just send them here...I'll watch them for you ;)

Sorry I missed the b'days... Happy Birthday Lyzzie!! :bday: and Happy Birthday 2x's mom!!

Michele...yes the corn burner is free standing...I'll get a pix for you...I had some that I sent to the insurance co. but I deleted them... It is great...one of our buddies just built a huge house... maybe 5 or 6k sq. ft...he's looking into it since his wife likes the house 80...and that is real expensive for a house that size...they're so warm and toasty!!! Easy to use... I thought Mike was  when he started talking about wanting one of these...and I am so glad we did!!! we can keep our house in the mid 70's for $100 a month... I love it!!!

Lesa :grouphug: looks like you were having a bad day... contractor problems... Gracie chewing furniture....hope it all gets worked out... yes the corn burner is great!!! warm, cozy and cheap!!!

Lyzziesmom...corn burner smell funny :rotfl2: nahhh... and it doesn't jsut pop it like popcorn either :teeth: ...I can say that I look at corn fields differently now..instead of ...yummm...its ahhh heat!!!

2x2s...Awwww... you too?? My neices are mini me's too :rolleyes1 nothin' wrong with that :smooth: !! Italian... so you eat the 7 kinds of seafood at Christmas too? Our pilot buddy is Italian...love to go eat the seafood  yummm!!

Well... I was so surprised but my x actually took Kenny to his game Sat. They won 5-0!!! It was so adorable as usual! Kenny got to be goalie for the first time...he is used to being in front and running right w/the ball... so he gets to the goalie box...the whistle blows and he takes off for the ball... stranding the goal box :lmao: everyone starts yelling.... Kenny...you have to stay at the goal box :lmao: it was so cute!!!! A little girl on the other team had to stop everything and run and give Kenny a hug when she saw him  so cute!!! Her mom said she don't talk to or about any boys...except Kenny this and Kenny that :rotfl:

Any of you have slr camera??? I'm looking at buying a digital slr camera for Kenny's sports...and vacations of coarse... I'm looking at Nikon and Canon's...but I really like the Nikon D80...but the body alone is 1k...then the lenses for it :sad2: so expensive...the one lens I want is $400... then the high speed memory cards... omg...that stuff can get  expensive!!!

pozey...your dw is a va supervisor...now I know who to ask w/?'s for dh ;) ...He's going to va for them to decide what % disabled he is.. his family dr says 80%..now to see what va says and change his retirement pay...then I guess to soc. sec. after that... this process is going to take years! Sorry she had to work...I did to...put only for a few hours... hope Courtneys arm is doing good!!

YM...glad you made it ok from the Buckeye state...eventually;)... hope the apple pie was good..that was sweet...

I have a Canon Digital Rebel XT. It is the 8 megapixel digital SLR they have. I LOVE it. I think I got it on sale for $850 just before our trip back in May. I already had a Canon film SLR, so I had a couple of lenses already. I bought a Tamron 28 - 300 mm zoom lens a few years ago. I use that lens most of the time. I want to buy another lens or two, but like you said.....they can get very expensive. The memory cards haven't been that expensive. I found some 1 gig cards online for less than 30 bucks each. I have four 1 gig cards.

Yeah, she deals primarily with service connected disability payouts. She doesn't deal with the VA hospitals directly, but the people she supervises looks at medical records and determines their benefits.

Linda...are you close to Dayton...I can't remember? I brought the boys back some corn cob popcorn! We tried to grow some one year in a pot but the cobs rotted. BTW when do they cut the corn stalks down?

Donna...we fly out of Tulsa. There aren't many direct flights...we usually connect in KC, St Louis, Dallas, Houston, Chicago, well you get the picture...we have to fly to a bigger airport and sit....before we can get to our destination. :rolleyes1 I think Dallas is the worst...why did I forget that when I booked the tickets? Honestly, we stay on schedule much better if we are flying Soutwest but it's nice to have an assigned seat....we flew AA this time. :sad2:

yeah..he's such a sweetie :cloud9:

I've been looking at the Canon Rebel's too!! My sister has the Nikon D50...but already wants to upgrade so I was thinking of starting w/a mid grade camera...it'll be worth it!! I'll have to get some of those cards too...that isn't bad!!This is sad...but I was so excited about those cameras Sat. that I only got about an hour or so of sleep :rotfl: like a kid in a candy store!!

that is what he's going through..going to their dr's and getting everything checked out for them to determine his benefits...but they said he was the most prepared person they've ever had..had all his dr's records from day 1...they said it could take a full year to determine everything. I am surprised everything they cover though...

:wave2: HI everybody...
