Of the "good neighbor" hotels around
Disneyland, which has the largest suites or perhaps your opinion of the best ones? There are several "suite" type hotels that I saw but pictures can be deceiving. We don't need more than a 1-br so that the little one can go to bed early and we can watch TV, etc. Kitchen not necessary but a decent fridge and microwave would be nice. Looking to stay about 5 or 6 nights, coming from east coast. It's me, hubby, child. Probably not renting a car.
Thanks for any input; haven't been out to disneyland yet but looking to go in the spring to visit family and bring my then-4-yr-old.
Hojo's Anaheim on Harbor Blvd. has a fantastic large kids suite that is 538 square feet, has 2 bathrooms, flat TV in both bedrooms, has an in-room safe, microwave, small fridge, easy walk to and from parks (8 min., compared to 15 min. for Residence Inn Maingate I THINK? Someone please correct me if I am wrong!

) With a 4 year old chances are good you will want to come back to the hotel room mid day to rest/play in the pool (garden pool has a nice pool and the kids castaway cove splash area has a hot tub for the adults.) It's far easier to walk back and forth twice to Disneyland with an 8 min. walk compared to 15. The hotel is close to many great food places - Mimi's Cafe, Pizza Hut, Quiznos, McDonalds, Millie's Cafe, Denny's, Tony Roma's, Ihop (expensive and dirty last time we went a couple of years ago, even though kids eat free promo was on), Captain Kidd's DO NOT go there if you want to listen to DIS'ers on these boards, generally it is not a restaurant you want to take your family to. You can also order pizza in, for delivery, have take out from Mimi's, etc. Von's can delivery groceries to the hotel for free using code EASY7 if your order is over $50 which is so easy to do when buying food a family of 4 for a few days. The thing I like most about Hojo's is that it is very clean and tidy. We visit there annually, for around a week, and it has always been so clean. There are coin laundry machines on premises, Pirate's Cove splash area for your child would be a lot of fun. You can receive 15% off your stay by quoting the DISboards special rate. On-line, the code to use is LNDB to have the 15% discount show up. It is less expensive than Residence Inn Maingate, too. They have a game room for the kids with video games, and a really nice convenience store very fully stocked with milk, ice cream, beer, wine, candy, muffins, breakfast cereals, extra coffee for the Keurig coffee machine, souvenirs, and anything you can think of.

Oh! The beds! Superior quality and comfort. Same as the pillows. Linens super clean! There is a KING bed in the adult's room, and a bunk bed and sofa bed in the kids suite.
