I know, I'm weird, but sometimes the bread and butter is my favorite part of the meal!

which restaurants serve great bread and butter & what makes it so good? What kind of bread, type of butter, etc...

I'm not interested in hearing about the bread from sandwiches, just the bread baskets.

Thanks!

Okay...the breadsticks at Le Cellier are very good. But I love the bread at O'Hana. The butter is, I believe, a walnut butter and also very good. Yum, yum.

One more month and I can make my reservations. :woohoo:

I for some reason can't get enough of the bread at GFC with the salted butter. Something I don't normally like at all. I just love it there.

Love all the bread at LeCeller--especially the sourdough (DH loves the pretzel).

Le Cellier pretzel bread - OMG good!

For us its got to be the Yachtsman Steak House. They bring a basket with some great pull-apart onion rolls, a huge slab of butter and a plate of roasted garlic.

Excuse me I have to clean the drool off my keyboard. :goodvibes

I agree with Le Cellier having a great bread basket. If you get the cheddar cheese soup, dip the pretzel bread into the soup. YUM! The pretzel bread at Biergarten is good, too.

It rubs me the wrong way that Mama Melrose's no longer gives bread with their meals. Getting a small basket of bread is standard at most (if not all) Italian restaurants and it's a shame MM no longer offers a bread basket, especially with their prices for pasta dishes. They do have a good bread appetizer that you can order, though I'd rather they went back to offering the free bread basket.

yachtsman! mmmmm....sooooo good

I actually like 1900 park fare. It is a pull apart bubble bread.

Our favorite is Jiko! It's probably not what you are asking about, but the bread is so great and we have it with the "taste of Africa" instead of butter.

Le Cellier pretzel bread and LTT's bread with honey butter. I think our family of 5 went through 2 baskets at LTT!

Holy cow that sounds good.

Olivia's...with their Pineapple type bread. And dipped into their Buffalo Chicken Soup. I know, to each their own, but all my family kept eating out of mine. :rotfl:

I like Kona's and Wolfgang Puck Cafe's breads the best. I also really like the butters at Jiko and Citricos.

Kona's bread is sweet, and has a macadamia nut butter, Wolfgang Puck Cafe's bread is two types of foccacia, an herb, and an olive, with an olive oil and balsamic dipping sauce. Citricos butter, is a citrus-infused one, though they top it with salt, and I think it's better to scrape the salt off, since otherwise I find it too salty. Jiko's butter, I'm not sure at all what is in, but probably cinnamon or cloves, something like that.

I can't wait to try that bread.

The bread at Le Cellier gets my vote!! :thumbsup2 I love the pretzel bread! DH and I were fighting over it last time. He asked if there was anymore left and I told him no it was all gone as I was eating it! Haha!! To this day he still won't let that go! :goodvibes

This so not a thread I need to be reading..:sad2:

We loved both baskets of bread at Coral Reef 'til it was all gone.

We liked the bread at Narcoossee's, but it was the butter...ooh la la

The pretzel bread at LC is great. It used to be my favorite bread at the World, but that all changed last summer.

I ordered the bread appetizer at Mama Melrose's... WOW! Yeah, you have to pay for it, but it's worth it! And the roasted garlic cloves, spreadable no less, amazing!
