Just wondering what your experience has been? Fios is new to my area, so I've called a couple of times with different questions, but I'm leary about switching. We would save about $50/month for 2 years by switching, but you have to sign a 2 year contract so I'm hesitant. I'm more worried about the service than anything (especially internet service). They told us that the internet service in our package would be faster than Time Warner. Plus I'm not sure about the whole house dvr (we have 2 dvrs now that are always full). Just wondering what experiences anyone else has had? We're in NY.

The only person that we could find near us that tried it went back to Time Warner because they said that Verizon raised the prices on their boxes a couple of months after they signed up.

I've heard a couple people say that after they signed up their bill jumped. I've also heard both good and bad but the internet portion is nowhere near as fast as Time Warner and the HD channels don't look as good. Plus having to sign a contract means they can raise rates/add/delete channels as they see fit and if you don't like it you're stuck.

We switched.

I really didn't want to, because I like the security of a land line for our phone, rather than digital, which cuts out when the power does. But DH is all about picture clarity and internet speed, blah, blah, blah.

They kept my low rate the entire 2 years, and once that was up, we're paying about $30 more. They also had some sweet deals for 3 months here and there for premium channels that were free as long as you remembered to cancel.

I've had no issues with service, and even that digital phone wasn't as bad as I thought it was, but we don't live in an area with frequent power outages anyway.

I have no more or fewer complaints than I had about Time Warner.
