Who has shopped at Winn Dixie recently?

The prices at Publix are so high compared with up here. I look at the weekly ads and the sale price is higher than our normal price. I went to the Winn Dixie years ago and I am wondering how it is now. Everyone recommends Publix. Can anyone compare the two for me. I don't care about the experience, I just want good prices and a clean store.

If a clean store is important, you want Publix. And make sure you get a sub!

I'm a local and sometimes shop at the Winn-Dixie on Apopka-Vineland by Disney and never noticed the store not being clean. I usually shop at Public. The prices at Winn-Dixie can be a little cheaper. But at both stores I go for the BOGO's to save money.

The Winn Dixie on Apopka is inoffensive - generally clean, but like most Winn Dixies, just feels older, dated, and cheaper. I prefer Publix stores which just feel cleaner, brighter, and I prefer their bakery and deli. I've used the Winn Dixie on Apopka in a pinch when I needed the closest grocery store to my resorts, but prefer the Publix near AK Lodge - from most other resorts it's a few more miles of driving, but a nicer store.

I laughed when I read this; the bolded part describes my local store. Sounds like I might end up going to both, Winn Dixie at the beginning of the trip and then Publix in the middle to restock.
